Just a lighthearted thread for those of us now considered to be geriatric by the NHS 😂 looking to meet other women TTC who may also be feeling past their prime!

A little bit about me - I'm 36 and TTC dc no.2. Been trying for over 2 years now and depressingly started AF today so am yet again starting CD1. Hubby doesn't quite understand how upsetting this is each month so it'd be great to chat with ladies who get how I'm feeling ❤️

Amazing news @ttcat37! Congrats ❤️

Canellita · 30/05/2023 21:39

@40andtrying1 I've never felt anything at 2 DPO but every woman is different. 2DPO is from what I know too early for any pregnancy signs.
3 cycles can be an eternity but it's also not that long. I understand your impatience and anxiety.
When we started TTC I was in the exact same state of mind. And here I am after 12 cycles...

Btw AF paid me a visit yesterday evening... so I'm out for this cycle. Was feeling down obviously but also a little numb...
We've talked with hubby and it's all good for now. Will try everything we can go conceive even IVF. He started doing some tests today and will get the results in a couple of days. Then, appointment with the doctor to check what's happening with me. The thing is I've regular cycles, LH peak every month pretty much at the same time. It's much more predictable than before my first pregnancy where my cycles were super long. So I would have expected to be pregnant much faster. But go figure...

Hope this cycle will be yours! Keep us posted ❤️

Stillwinston · 30/05/2023 21:45

Sorry to hear AF arrived @Canellita ❤️

Pretty sure my test earlier today was a cruel evap, just done a FRER and it was stark white and now AF seems to be rearing her ugly head 🤦🏼‍♀️😩 Hopefully tomorrow will bring some clarity

@ttcat37 that Open House orgy must have done it!!! 😂😂 (ttcat wasn't in the orgy for those new to the thread!)

ttcat37 · 30/05/2023 22:02

@Infinitebows omg 😂😂😂😂 it’s funny because it’s true! 😂😂😂😂

Downtherabbithole83 · 30/05/2023 22:07

Sorry to hear that @Stillwinston - I’ll continue to have my fingers crossed for you xx

ttcat37 · 30/05/2023 22:50

sorry to hear about AF @Stillwinston 💐

Hi all,

I have been silently following this thread since I joined. It's a very active thread is great, but I feel a bit bad I am not as good at replying as some of you and therefore not contributing to it being active.

@Infinitebows so sorry to hear of your decision, it really doesn't seem fair. I wish you all the best, and hope you really enjoy a new office and car, not that it ms any consultation for how it has come about, but I hope you enjoy them anyway.

Ladies could I borrow some wisdom please? We are only 3 cycles in, and I am currently day 21 of my cycle, does that make me about 7 dpo?

We did have sex several times around the ovulation time and the Dot app said pregnancy chance high. But to be honest I don't have any slight feeling or symptoms of being pregnant.

Where do I start with tracking ovulation, does anyone have any thing worth reading as a start? I am clueless as have spent most of my life preventing pregnancy (and still managed to conceive in my early 20s) but I just have a premonition it is going to take more work this time.

I generally have a slightly shorter cycle than average at around 25/26 days.

Thanks for any pointers in advance.

As far as I can see, nobody replied to this yet due to other exciting events (congratulations @ttcat37!)

I am saying this as someone who is on cycle 6 of ttc and has never been pregnant but I’m definitely tracking ovulation right. You just need to get some test strips (I’d vote for Clearblue as they’re easy to read but easy at home are cheaper so they’re good too if you don’t mind peeing in a cup). There are also recommended times to start testing as per my attachment. Good luck!

Secondtimettc · 30/05/2023 23:37

@ttcat37 congratulations!!

@Stillwinston I'm sorry. Still keeping fingers crossed for you xx

@Rusticanella clearblue is good and has helped me catch ovulation late where I would have missed it.

cornflakes86 · 31/05/2023 08:41

@ttcat37 so happy for you congrats!! This is great news and gives me some hope too :)

cornflakes86 · 31/05/2023 08:42

@Stillwinston any update today ? Fingers crossed for you

Rusticanella · 31/05/2023 09:03

Thank you @Feliciacat and @Secondtimettc I will get some.

And absolutely do not mind my question being slightly missed given such great news x

40andtrying1 · 31/05/2023 10:38

Does anyone have symptoms? I am possibly 4/5 dpo
I only have a bubbly tummy, lots of gurgling for two days now.

Stillwinston · 31/05/2023 10:40

Pretty certain I'm out and it was just a cruel evap - tests were stark white this morning and the toilet paper had a pink tinge when I wiped 🤦🏼‍♀️😩 kicking myself that I got carried away yesterday, should have known that the CB tests are absolute c*s 😂 oh well, at least once AF arrives I can reset and focus on the new cycle

Hi team, I have been silently lurking on this thread and thought I would finally join in! I'm 37 (nearly 38) and ttc cycle 1. I didn't track ovulation and had what I thought might be implantation bleeding yesterday but BFNs so far :( Period is due today so I assume I'm out but getting lots of comfort from reading all your posts!

suz2285 · 31/05/2023 11:47

@Stillwinston such a cruel Evap!! I'm so sorry

I had to nip to EPU this morning after some brown bleeding yesterday, but scan shows all on track and baby is healthy with a good heartbeat... we didn't get to see the heartbeat last time I was pregnant so hopefully this is all good signs 🤞

Stillwinston · 31/05/2023 19:24

@suz2285 oh no 😯 hope you're doing ok ❤️ glad to hear everything's on track

  • the bleeding must have been so worrying but thank goodness you went and got it checked. When are you able to have a scan and confirm heartbeat?

@Toucs welcome! Sorry to hear AF is imminent but will keep my fingers for you 🤞🏻 x

No idea why I have a random bullet point in my last post 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

OP posts:
suz2285 · 31/05/2023 19:31

@Stillwinston lol at the bullet point, had a scan this morning and baby is healthy with a good heartbeat, measuring a few days ahead - just a little fuzzy bean blob 😂

All good, she said likely all will be fine now at this stage but still a worry of course! I had a private scan booked for next week but going to cancel it now after today, might just wait until the 12 weeks scan now

SarahShorty · 31/05/2023 19:31

@Stillwinston Bullet points appear if you're making a list. So after this line, hit enter, type out a hyphen and then hit space. Then to make another bullet point, just hit enter;

  • Like this
  • And again

I'm bored. Sorry 😁

Rusticanella · 31/05/2023 21:05

Have been out and bought some ovulation tests so will start those next month.

I also caved and bought FRER test which I have done and was negative. Not sure why I did it, my period is not due for another 8 days or so and I have no symptoms of pregnancy at all.

I guess I just thought we did a lot around approx ovulation, before and after, and therefore they might have been a chance. Surprised at how gutted I am this early in the game really (cycle 3, but first time I've done a test- just waited for period last couple of months).

My SIL and BIL have just had a beautiful baby, and I was chatting to her the other week and they conceived first cycle and she's 38. Just seems to make this niggling feeling that we are going to struggle even stronger.

  • dtd a lot around ovulation time.

Not sure what happened to that sentence originally

Downtherabbithole83 · 31/05/2023 21:25

@Rusticanella i think we all feel that disappointment every time we see a negative test but keep in mind that the absolute earliest you’re likely to see a positive is 5 days or so before AF and even then they’re likely to be weak if they show up at all! There’s still hope…

Downtherabbithole83 · 31/05/2023 21:26

@Stillwinston sorry to hear you seem to have hints of AF - absolutely gutting. I had everything crossed for you. 11dpo here and no signs of anything - AF due in 2 days so have pretty much resigned myself to another month of trying. Not wasting my energy on SMEP again though 😂😴

Downtherabbithole83 · 31/05/2023 21:36

12dpo even… have given up on even counting properly at this point! 🤦‍♀️
