Just a lighthearted thread for those of us now considered to be geriatric by the NHS 😂 looking to meet other women TTC who may also be feeling past their prime!

A little bit about me - I'm 36 and TTC dc no.2. Been trying for over 2 years now and depressingly started AF today so am yet again starting CD1. Hubby doesn't quite understand how upsetting this is each month so it'd be great to chat with ladies who get how I'm feeling ❤️

I'm cd10 today and managed to dtd Monday and today so now just waiting for a positive OPK🤞I swear these cycles get longer and slower with each month that goes on 😩

@Stillwinston I got my positive today (knew I'd be early this time) fuming doesn't even cut it, DH had tea and fell asleep. No chance for us today, I know he's busy but he keeps on about wanting a baby then does this - sounds pathetic but he won't DTD if I wake him because he's ratty when woken. Inside I'm absolutely furious....as if it isn't difficult enough 😤

@Infinitebows that's so gutting, I'd be livid too 😤 Hopefully you can get a chance to dtd tomorrow and still catch your ovulation window🤞 x

@Stillwinston Aaagh, that’s so annoying! I can understand why you’re furious, that’s incredibly frustrating for you.

On peak ovulation days if my DP was konked out, I’d make sure I got into bed at night with no clothes on! 😆It didn’t always work, but it sometimes resulted in DTD first thing in the morning. But if you’re feeling resentful, and he’s ratty DTD is probably the last thing you feel like doing. It can take all the fun out of it. I’m rooting for you both!

@Maizie83 we sleep naked anyway. Honestly nothing gets him going he just suffers low sex drive. Ive barely slept because I am so angry. Clueless honestly he is absolutely shockingly clueless! I'll bite my tongue and hope for the best when he wakes. 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Infinitebows I understand how frustrated you feel. Mine does the same regardless how many times I bang on about needing to have sex , he'll get into bed and just fall asleep. I've lay awake many nights feeling angered that hes went to sleep. Lucky for me I usually let him sleep for an hour then when he wakes he usually makes the moves. To he honest I think hes half asleep and dosent really know what he's doing 😆
I can't really blame it on him . I don't exactly have a high drive myself . Sex nowadays feels strictly for baby making and not so romantic . It really just ruins it

@MK85 At least yours makes the moves when he wakes. I can't explain how frustrating it is when he knows we have this very small window of opportunity and then just doesn't bother. I feel like giving up totally, I reminded him gently this morning that I'd had my peak yesterday and he's gone to work without even mentioning DTD. He really doesn't get it. Out of my mind with anger and sadness but there's nothing I can do 😢 💔 wishing everyone else the best of luck on this incredibly hard TTC journey 💕

@Infinitebows hopefully your able to dtd tonight as there's still time. Do you chart bbt to monitor when you've released the egg?

Hope everyone enjoys their day. I went for my monitoring scan this morning and unbelievably I still haven't been seen despite organising the appointment 9 days ago. Apparently there's no doctor available to scan me and nobody knows if or when I'll be seen. So incredibly fustrating. I've been sitting hours at this point but I feel like if I leave it'll ruin this clomid cycle as next month I won't know if I'm responding to the dose or if it needs increased . I hate the thought of wasting the time since clomid has a cycle limit. Arrgh.

@MK85 hope you've been seen by now! Horrible for you sat there not having a clue if they'll even scan you today!
No I haven't tracked BBT. Is it really that informative that you'd know when your egg is released?

@Infinitebows BBT is useful to confirm that you've ovulated, not when you'll ovulate. If you track your LH to find when you might ovulate, BBT will confirm it when it's happened. I did BBT for a year, I noticed my BBT dip and then sharply rise after I'd ovulated.

@SarahShorty thank you, off to Google it so I can get what I need. I'll have missed it for this time but if I forgive DH (haven't replied to his texts because I'm still so f*cking angry) it'll definitely be worth doing for next time. Can I just ask, if my LH peak was yesterday- when in all likeness would I release the egg, I know I've been told and read this a 1000 times but I think I've heard and read so much since TTC it's all gone a bit blurry in my mind! (Maybe I am too old 🤭) I have a dull ovary ache today (usually get this each month around this time) xx

@Infinitebows different sources say different things for when the egg is released after peak LH. Some places say 12-24 hours after peak and others say 12-48 hours after peak. And then once the egg is released, it will live for about 24 hours, so even after it's released, you still have a little bit of time to DTD.

@Infinitebows definitely try and dtd tonight if you can as SMEP tells you to do it after ovulation as there's still a chance for 24-48 hours afterwards 🤞

Just updating ...on CD12... got a static face on Clearblue OPKs on CD 10. DTD on day 9 and 11. So I'm hoping that helps!

Forgot to do the clear blue yesterday. The day before I got nothing but today there was a flashy face. Do you know how many days roughly the flashing face lasts for? I messed it up last month and started testing late and only got one day flashing and one static.

@Kablea I ended up giving up with the clear blue flashy faces because one month I'd have 6 days of flashy faces and then a static and the following month I'd get just one day of flashies - I never knew quite how they could be so different each time. I started using the pink clear blue ones as I find them a little less deceiving. Are you thinking you might have missed your static yesterday? I've no idea if they go back to flashy after because it doesn't usually let you do another for 48 hours after static so never did. Sorry that doesn't really help at all. Fingers crossed for you

@Kablea I'm pretty sure you have to test a couple of times for it to reach a base level and then the readings after that will be more accurate. I did once have flashing smileys for over a week once so they can be quite frustrating. I've now moved to the easy @ home OPKs and have been pleasantly surprised with how clear they are x

Just got what I think is my peak so hoping that we get to dtd again tonight🤞 just found out my SIL is pregnant - I'm over the moon for them but they managed to get pregnant on first try so I'm privately jealous as hell 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ hope everyone's doing ok today x

@Stillwinston good luck for tonight xx Pregnancy announcements hurt the most when you're actively TTC and it just plain sucks, doesn't it? The only solace I take from it these days is that it is possible to get pregnant and our time just isn't here yet. It's so hard, though try to stay hopeful.
