2023 TTC 35+

Hi everyone!!
Wanted to start another group thread for those TTC that are 35+.
When I was first trying, this group helped me a lot. We bonded and went through pains and celebrations together. I had two MCs over 2yrs of trying and lots of crying as I was typing many of my posts. Support helped... Especially at this age.
I had my first baby Jan 2022 and here we are now trying for baby #2.
I'll be 40 this summer!!!

Sooooo after talking about not getting any symptoms ever, I suddenly get a lower back pain, loss of energy, sore boobs lol this has to be my brain playing tricks on me, right? 🤣 Like this probably happens every cycle before my period comes but now I'm paying so much more attention to my body and starting to symptom spot.

@VixFromThe6ix aghh see its this little club we got going on here lol! The symptom spotters! The scientific amoung us will tell us its biologically impossible lol but no no not us we know we got symptoms 🤣🤣🤣 .. update still feelin like tripe with this cold i have of course convincing myself that that is because i have conceived an my body has lowered its immune system to create a tiny person an not that its just a viral my 6 yr old has decided to bring home from school thus plaguing me ... xxx

It's frustrating that early pregnancy and PMS symptoms are the same. Like why, why are they the same? Lol

I think I'm 5dpo but I'm away travelling atm and so haven't temped or done opks. Going by cervical mucus, when would you normally think you ovulated? Would it be the last day or EWCM or the day after that?

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 you often get Ewcm in the days leading up to ovulation. I get it about 5days before and stops around ovulation

Just fed up of this cycle. It's an utter mess. I have no idea where I am or what's going on or when AF should be due. It's going to cock up our IVF appointments now. I'm meant to be having a baseline scan at the end of the month but that won't happen if my period doesn't show up 🙄 Stupid body.

I’m 6dpo now, feel a bit funny this morning but all can be explained- headachy (dodgy wisdom tooth), nauseas (hungry, have been eating something at breakfast time this week but not this morning), tired (not enough sleep this week)… so I’m not holding out much (any) hope this month tbh. I know it’s early days still but I feel like I’d know, y’know?

Sounds like you're really going through it. I'm sorry to hear this. I sincerely hope all resolves itself and the appointment can go ahead. There is still time 🤞🏾
I'm relatively new to this thread and to the TTC club- is this your first attempt at IVF?

Try and remain positive and it is early days. Well, if it helps reading your post made me excited for you 😃 (You can tell I'm a newbie as I'm full of positivity).

@IncredibleMrsHulk awww that’s very sweet of you! It’s amazing how quickly the enthusiasm gets worn out of you 😩 as I keep reminding myself, bfp in about 6 months would be more ideal anyway, but you don’t get to pick- and every day we both get older 🥺

It will be our first attempt yes :) I had two miscarriages last year (after a successful first pregnancy with my son in 2020) and we just don't want to wait any longer as it seems to take us a long time to get pregnant. At 36 I just don't have the time to waste.

@IncredibleMrsHulk thanks for checking in. I am super suprised as it looks like I will ovulate this cycle (had a lot of EWCM this morning), I had a miscarriage a few weeks ago and thought it wouldn't happen for a few months (had an anovulatery couple of cycles when I had a chemical in August). We're off on a long weekend so it feels like a small silver lining relative to the last month!
@TheBirdintheCave that sounds horrific. I am sorry for your losses and I know how rubbish it is when your body messes you around like that.
@BengalMama how are you getting on? Did the gardening go well last weekend?

I’m 5dpo today. Ignoring everything, not really thinking about it. AF due a week tomorrow. I have some cheapie tests which lets be fair I’ll prob try and use early but will try to avoid it

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 we dtd on the day before and the day of seeing ewcm and that was it and I managed to get pregnant that month . Not sure when exactly I ovulated but my peak on opk was the same day I had the ewcm. I only had it for one day

@Amadeaa your not alone . I'm 37 ttc first
