2023 TTC 35+

1000 replies

VixFromThe6ix · 24/02/2023 01:42

Hi everyone!!
Wanted to start another group thread for those TTC that are 35+.
When I was first trying, this group helped me a lot. We bonded and went through pains and celebrations together. I had two MCs over 2yrs of trying and lots of crying as I was typing many of my posts. Support helped... Especially at this age.
I had my first baby Jan 2022 and here we are now trying for baby #2.
I'll be 40 this summer!!!
Join me and share your story ☺️

Good morning @Italiandreams87 ! I'm 35 and 36 in july. I also have a near 13 year old. So I'm new to all this as I was so very young when I had my DC.
All this tracking and temping and vitamin taking is a mindfield! Lol its whether we are doing the right thing and constantly researching if there is more we could do.. we want another DC so much! Sending everyone tonnes of baby dust!! Xxxx

Hi, thanks for your message lovely.

Oh I feel like a completely different person now! lol I think i was so naïve then and didn't take notice of my body where as now I'm so aware, i just read so much and don't know what advice to take. Well i have my three with their dad who i was with for fifteen years, we have been split for 8 years and the children and their dad have a great relationship as do my children with my partner, they love him to pieces. My partner is 30 (a little younger) and he does want kids of his own, think its our little last bit to our puzzle. We also want it so bad now because I'm panicking about age/early menopause - anything lol😂

Send you tonnes of baby dust back !! xxx

Italiandreams87 · 03/03/2023 13:54

@BengalMama Thank you girly! I know, everyone keeps saying that but i have flo and another app that literally monitors my cycles by the information i enter plus my cycles are like 40 days long. if i had 28/30 days cycles i would be due to test any day now. Im now confused as my apps say one thing and you girls who have been TTC are saying another! Whar shall i do ! lol xx

BengalMama · 03/03/2023 13:57

@TheFanciestPants I hope the spotting stops soon, I know your pain for the appointments, feels like suddenly being kicked out of an exclusive club, sending you a huge hug ❤. We can be temping buddies when you are ready!

Here is my chart for this cycle, as I say its my first time this month so any advice or guidance from those more experienced is welcome!

Italiandreams87 · 03/03/2023 13:57

@TheFanciestPants So sorry for your loss, this seems like such a lovely group of girls, I'm sure they will all (including me) help support you through TTC again. Sending you big hugs and tonnes of baby dust for when you are ready!

and thank you, I'm just not so sure what to do. The girls here are saying my dates sound off and my app is telling me I'm due to test around/after 22nd march as that's when my period is due. I could do it before but i don't want to risk the BFN lol xxxx

Yes! This is how I feel! Worried about my age, worried about menopause if I leave too late and worried about everything now.. compared to my last pregnancy! I was so young and naiive! Lol xxx

We didn't appreciate it when we had the youth and less worries now look at us! Hopefully we see lots of BFP's soon! xx

@BengalMama looks good to me!

Yes it does feel exactly like that. I feel like I have just gone down a big snake (in snakes and ladders) and everyone around me seems to go up ladders without even noticing! I have had lots of close family announce pregnancies and a few where they were accidents! I don't feel I live on the same planet as them.....

@Italiandreams87 - ah that makes sense. Must be really tricky with a long unpredictable cycle. Mine is normally 24 days but I still waited an extra day or two before considering testing last time, so I think you should just do what you feel comfortable with.

Wishing you all happy eggs and baby dust.

Mummyme87 · 03/03/2023 17:16

@Italiandreams87 I think we were wondering about the dates… if you ovulated 7th feb and AF not due until 22nd March that would mean you have a 42day luteal phase, and say your period was the 25th Jan that would mean your cycle is 57 days not 33-40…. Maybe you mid posted the dates?

BengalMama · 03/03/2023 18:01

@TheFanciestPants 100% with you. My husband and I explained to our OB that we felt like we were in a maze and we keep taking wrong turns and ending up back at thr start but everyone else seems to just walk right through. We need to keep positive though and remember that after every storm comes a rainbow 🌈

Hope you are all looking forward to the weekend and have some nice distracting plans ❤

1dpo on my first cycle of trying again....

Some days I think back on my journey and all the obstacles we faced with DC #1, and it makes me feel stressed about whats to come.

I know stress is no bueno when TTC, but I'm an overthinker and I can't help it.

And we are all out of chocolate and ice cream, so I can't even stress snack 😅

@VixFromThe6ix how long is your luteal phase, mine is 12days usually, we can do the TWW together. Today should be ovulation day for me I think based on my positive OPKs yesterday.
I’m feeling fairly relaxed this cycle after my 2month break but then I remember that we’ve just had 17 unsuccessful cycles of actively TTC and it makes me feel incredibly negative

Mummyme87 · 04/03/2023 06:58

Just looked and AF will be due 17th March, I’m out that night for a friends delayed 50th birthday party, she’s now 52 but obvs covid happened. If I did happen to get a BFP that would be awkward as they know I’m a fairly big drinker when I go out 😬😬

TheBirdintheCave · 04/03/2023 07:29

@VixFromThe6ix I'm 2dpo today so there are a few if us in the tww together it seems :) Not that I have much hope for this cycle 😅

Freya8 · 04/03/2023 07:31

2dpo ladies also aghh! Very crampy!! Xx

Floralsandsmiles · 04/03/2023 08:47

I'm 3DPO ladies and also crampy, bloated, a lot of heartburn last night too xxx

Italiandreams87 · 04/03/2023 10:14

Sorry girls I totally didn’t explain properly.

So because of my long cycles and sometimes irregular my estimated ovulation days were between the 2-7th of feb, we had sex on 6th and 7th then I had a 2 day light bleed on the 17th-18th (which was around when my period was due). So I didn’t think much of it.

I experienced cramping then a 2 day AF and then more cramping and more discharge. I’m not going to bore you but amongst other symptoms.

So my next period is due 22nd March-30th March based on my last recorded AF’s.

OMG I must of been having a busy day yesterday 😂😂😂 reading back it wasn’t very clear.

Im a little all over the show, so it’s hard to grasp myself 😂😂

Sorry girls xx

FiddleLeaf · 04/03/2023 10:30

I’m 2DPO too. Fingers crossed for us all this month ladies.

Unfortunately we couldn’t DTD on ovulation day but did get in 3 other chances during the window 🤞🏻

Welcome! How are you finding it so far? I started out with so many supplements and tests & have chilled out after a year 😂

Amadeaa · 04/03/2023 11:16

Hello @IncredibleMrsHulk & welcome! I am also 39 (40 soon), trying to conceive #1 and will start my second cycle in March.

Mummyme87 · 04/03/2023 11:44

@FiddleLeaf dont need to DTD on Ov day. I believe day before ovulation is the optimum so the spent is sitting waiting. I am seemingly ovulating a day earlier which has annoyed me, should have started DTD earlier 😬😏 never mind. Will try tonight, then have done o-1 and o-3

Thanks for the reassurance! We managed to get peak day 1 so hopefully that’ll do the trick. I had ovulation pains that night. Just a shame not to increase our chances further. Hey ho!

I’m wishing time away now. Roll on 2 weeks!

IncredibleMrsHulk · 04/03/2023 11:57

@FiddleLeaf
Hey!!
It's been a super interesting journey so far!! I've started reading "It starts with the Egg" which so far has surpassed my expectations. I didn't think it would be my kind of book but I'm actually enjoying reading it and it's very informative (scientific and anecdotal).

How has your journey been? Wishing you success. I am considering getting tests. Do you recommend any in particular?

@Amadeaa
Hello!!!
How has the process been for you? I feel as if I'm back in secondary school learning about Sex Ed only this time in more depth and detail.
