Afternoon all, I hope everyone is having a good start to the week
after my positive tests late last week I’ve definitely had my AF over the weekend so must have still been leftover hcg from MMC. Im going to test again this week on the clear blue test as that’s the one that seems to still pick it up and hope for a negative

this was my first period post MMC and it’s been really light ( not implantation as there have been a few clots) but nothing like my pre mc periods.

anyway I’m going to have a few days breather to get my head together and then start ovulation testing! It really does become a bit all consuming, I’m struggling a bit to find the balance of trying to get pregnant but also enjoying life and being mindful. Anyone else find this?

TrulyMiss · 20/02/2023 18:47

@SMG1992 sorry to hear that! I think it's really tricky not to get too swept up in it... I try and plan some nice things so that I can look forward to them when I'm disappointed and I try not to think about it too much but I always fail 😂

tulipsunday · 20/02/2023 19:39

@TrulyMiss that's a good idea to plan some nice things. @SMG1992 can totally relate - finding the balance a bit hard. Feeling a bit teary and overwhelmed by it all today. Wondering am I even going to ovulate this cycle. Feel that my DH is trying to do his bit but isn't really in the
mood - think the pressure is getting to him a bit too. I thought I would ovulate early again so we focused on those days but my clear blue face is still flashing 🙈

SMG1992 · 20/02/2023 19:51

@tulipsunday im just waiting for that flashy face at the moment so I can feel like I’m atleast proactively doing something

@TrulyMiss good idea trying to plan nice things. I’ve been away this weekend with family but I’m finding that I’m struggling to enjoy myself and just always feel a bit off. It’s not been long since my MMC so I know it’s because of that. Hoping that March will help with my mood a bit.

tulipsunday · 20/02/2023 21:04

@SMG1992 hope you get the flashing faces soon. I know what you mean about feeling a bit off. I was starting to feel better since my recent miscarriage in December and then now down again today which is a bit disappointing but I guess fluctuating moods is natural and yes spring and better weather should help.

Bubblemachiene · 21/02/2023 06:43

Hi all, anyone know if ovulation tests can me messed up after a recent mc?
I mc 2 weeks ago and last week had a positive ovulation test, 2 different types. Then the cheap strips went negative then yesterday I decided to test again don't know why and I got a really strong positive strip ovulation test & a static smiley. I've also done a pregnancy test which was negative. It was an early mc .
I'm not sure if I am actually ovulating this soon or where the tests are confusing my hormones.

TheBirdintheCave · 21/02/2023 07:00

@Bubblemachiene I think you can ovulate two weeks post MC. Mine was exactly at three weeks.

Bubblemachiene · 21/02/2023 08:53

Ok so yesterday's positive could be true 👍. Fingers crossed it is, dtd last night so hopefully it works thanks @TheBirdintheCave

TheBirdintheCave · 21/02/2023 09:13

@Bubblemachiene No worries :) I hope it works!

SMG1992 · 21/02/2023 11:03

@tulipsunday I hope you are feeling a bit better today. I thought I was feeling better too but my fisrt AF whilst still having positive pregnancy tests (over 5 weeks since MMC and had a follow up scan for retained product) has made me spiral a bit.

I can't help but thinking about how far along I should be and the milestones we should have been having :( I know I'll feel better again soon but my head is such a mess at the moment.

Sorry for the rant, I don't want to bring anyone down, this just feels like such a safe place where I'm not rushed back into feeling "normal" again.

BudgetBuster · 21/02/2023 11:46

@TrulyMiss I had a miscarriage on 1st November. My cycles were much shorter and somewhat lighter since for Nov, Dec & Jan. My 4th cycle in Feb was back to normal! I think it just takes a bit of time to regulate unfortunately.

TheBirdintheCave · 21/02/2023 12:06

@SMG1992 Don't worry about ranting, you can say whatever you like here :) We're all in the same boat and some days are better than others. If this is one of your lower days then that's ok, make sure you spend a bit of time on self care today xx

My poor husband crashed yesterday evening as something reminded him about the baby. He wasn't able to take time off (a day or so I think he had) during the miscarriage as they're short on staff at the moment and it's really affected him :(

SleepyBlonde · 21/02/2023 12:50

@TheBirdintheCave it he ok? That's really scary😢

tulipsunday · 21/02/2023 12:59

@TheBirdintheCave how awful - hope he is ok.

@SMG1992 feeling a bit better today thanks. Had a chat with my husband last night about how I was feeling and he was supported. Still haunted by the flashing smiley face again today not expecting to fall pregnant yet but would just be nice to know I am back ovulating 😬

I hope you are ok - the positive pregnancy tests are really cruel. I found it easier once they had faded and my first period had passed and things were starting to get back on track a bit.

SMG1992 · 21/02/2023 13:00

Thanks @TheBirdintheCave i appreciate it
I hope your husband is ok, I know mine tries to put on a brave face

Daniki · 21/02/2023 16:36

@SMG1992 I found it really tough after my second Mc, it was harder to get over than the first. It's so difficult thinking of the milestones that should of been and how far along I should be etc.

It does get easier but the first period is such a kick in the teeth after. We started trying again this month and my period came on thurs which was 5 days early. I kept testing anyway hoping it was implantation bleeding 😂 but defo not.

Defo no pressure here to move on, we don't get enough time to grieve these things I find anyway!

SMG1992 · 21/02/2023 18:55

Thanks @Daniki kick in the teeth is so right
i know what you mean about hoping it’s just implantation bleeding I did the same!

Daniki · 21/02/2023 20:07

@SMG1992 we’ll get there yet, we can wait and do tests together next month 😂🤗

tulipsunday · 21/02/2023 20:11

@Daniki yes I feel that too the second miscarriage has been as hard for me or maybe harder. I wasn't as far along the second time (baby never developed from the sac stage.. though I thought I was seven weeks) and I think in a way perhaps people think then it doesn't matter as much or you won't be as sad. A loss is a loss though.

SMG1992 · 21/02/2023 20:15

@Daniki we can be moral support for each other to not test too early 😅

Daniki · 21/02/2023 20:29

@tulipsunday exactly a loss is still a loss and your mindset completely changes from the positive pregnancy test to what the future will hold so it’s just devastating to lose that. 😫

@SMG1992 haha I’m a divil for testing early! 🫣

Chellooo · 22/02/2023 07:33

Tested this morning, bfn, I know it's only day 7/8 but somehow convinced myself it would show. Feeling pretty bummed now, given I've caught so easy when I fell 1st time trying last year even thought it ended in mmc 😔

bringmearainbow · 22/02/2023 07:39

@Chellooo ahhh it's hard lovely but try not to feel too bummed. It doesn't seem like it because it feels like everyone gets a BFP at day 8 but in reality there's such a small percentage of people that get one then. It's totally ok to have a little blurgh moment though xxx

Chellooo · 22/02/2023 08:04

@bringmearainbow thank you, its just so easy to get caught up in it all xx

HollyGolightly4 · 22/02/2023 09:30

Chellooo · 22/02/2023 08:04

@bringmearainbow thank you, its just so easy to get caught up in it all xx

It certainly is xx

How long after miscarriage did it take for your period to return? Mine's been four weeks and no sign.
