Finally realised that our previous thread was full 🤣 I hope no one minds me starting up a new one!

Can you believe it's been almost a year since this was all started up?!

@LucyLoopyLu one of the private ultrasound clinics near me also do fertility scans I'm not sure if that's something you could also look into

LucyLoopyLu · 05/06/2023 22:37

@krissy12 yeah after trying for 6 months we went private and paid for a fertility check up. My OH had a SA, all normal, and I had an internal ultrasound and AMH testing. They didn't find anything of concern. But I've not had any hormone testing. I also have severe hormonal acne (according to dermatologist) so I wonder if there is something there. This also tests thyroid which I'm quite pleased about as my mum has thyroid problems and I seem to develop every issue she has

krissy12 · 06/06/2023 07:09

@LucyLoopyLu I had a look at that hertility testing I think I'm going to do that aswell. I had day 1 and day 21 bloods done at the gp before but they were reliable on day 21 because I dont have regular periods so these ones look a bit better

HeathenPlayingHouse · 06/06/2023 08:44

@Hellsbells89 Congratulations! ❤️

CD58 and still waiting for AF to show. I finished Provera a week ago, and I've had a tiny amount of spotting yesterday and this morning. So it could be anytime now, really.

Hope everyone is well x

HeathenPlayingHouse · 06/06/2023 11:03

Speak of the Devil, and she will arrive 😂

CD1 for me.

Welshgal85 · 06/06/2023 13:22

@LucyLoopyLu I’m okay, AF due anyday now so just waiting to see. Did have a bit of stomach ache last night so wondering if that means it’s on the way. Feeling a little defeated still to be honest. Wondering if I should go to the GP as been TTC for a while now.

how are you?

krissy12 · 07/06/2023 09:46

@Welshgal85 I would maybe think about going to the GP you have nothing to lose you can continue ttc in the meantime.
when I went a few years ago I was sent for day 3 and day 21 bloods and my husband was sent for sperm testing before any onward referrals were made so might be good to get the ball rolling

LucyLoopyLu · 08/06/2023 00:14

@Welshgal85 hope this limbo ends for you soon

@krissy12 I'll let you know how the hertility test and consult goes x

@HeathenPlayingHouse nice to see you, hope this is your lucky cycle 💜

I just got AF tonight. I'm absolutely gutted. Arrived right at the beginning of a long evening out for work client entertaining. Had to have a moment to myself in the loo and then go back out. I have no one to tell as my husband is on holiday. I'm just in a hotel on my own. Feeling very "why me?". I got my hopes up a little bit this time and I am kicking myself now.

So I've got the hertility test to do and then GP on Tuesday.
Wish me luck for the blood sample, I'm dreading it

krissy12 · 08/06/2023 06:21

so sorry to hear you got AF @LucyLoopyLu hopefully you'll have some answers soon

HeathenPlayingHouse · 09/06/2023 14:54

@LucyLoopyLu Sorry AF turned up ❤️

I'm doing ok thanks, just waiting for AF to end to get started with this cycle.

Hellsbells89 · 04/06/2023 22:59

Hey all sorry been vacant again! Anyway I'm excited to update that I'm now 4 weeks for my first positive at 9 DPO. I've been so tired I've pretty much been having to nap most afternoons if I can! Not easy with a toddler. Nausea started to kick in this afternoon so it's all starting to feel very real now!

Congratulations!

LucyLoopyLu · 11/06/2023 21:54

Thanks guys.

A little update. I tried to do the sample for the herility testing on Saturday morning and it was a bit of a disaster. I followed all the instructions but could just hardly get any blood out. I honestly did not expect to have that problem! I used 2 of the 5 lancets. It said to try two and then get in touch if you couldn't get enough. I thought about persevering but literally had a tiny little bit in the bottom the tube, hardly looked like anything, so didn't seem worth doing the other fingers on my other hand. Also it's sore!

I guess I have to get in touch now.
Bit of a pain. I can't see it going much better next time tbh and every time it doesn't work you have to wait for the next day 3

krissy12 · 12/06/2023 06:04

@LucyLoopyLu thats so frustrating for you sounds a nightmare

LucyLoopyLu · 12/06/2023 21:49

@krissy12 thanks lovely, I know yeah. I was upset about hitting the 12 month mark anyway so I was a bit disappointed.

Got the GP on Weds AM! So will see what they say

krissy12 · 12/06/2023 21:58

@LucyLoopyLu good luck at the GP on Wednesday i would imagine they will refer you for bloods hopefully

I was 14 months to get pregnant with my DS don't give up hope

it's so frustrating not knowing what it going on though I had 6 days of spotting then 1 day of nothing and now on day 5 of full on AF so who knows what is happening

LucyLoopyLu · 12/06/2023 23:50

@krissy12 thank you, yeah hopefully they will do something and not just fob me off. I saw a really good GP last time but couldn't get booked in with him again so don't know what they will be like.

That sounds so annoying, I bet you're fed up of not knowing where you're at. At least you have had AF now I guess so you can count it as a new cycle?

Thanks for letting me know about conceiving your son. I don't want to give up hope just yet

HeathenPlayingHouse · 13/06/2023 10:47

@LucyLoopyLu I hope you manage to get your bloods done. And I agree with @krissy12 about staying hopeful- I was just shy of 4 years TTC and waiting to be referred for IVF when I got pregnant with DS!

Not much to report for me- currently CD8 and AF has finally left. Since it was taking a while, I had to take tablets to help AF end. And that's how I was able to confirm that I've apparently become allergic to Mefanamic Acid- hives and blisters on my face, chest and arm, exactly the same when I took it during last AF.

Thankfully I've still got the Tranexamic Acid 😂

krissy12 · 14/06/2023 08:30

@HeathenPlayingHouse aww no that doesn't sound fun !

hope your appointment goes well this morning @LucyLoopyLu

krissy12 · 16/06/2023 06:18

@LucyLoopyLu how did your appointment go?

LucyLoopyLu · 17/06/2023 11:16

@HeathenPlayingHouse @krissy12
Aw thanks for checking in

The appointment went fine in some ways and really badly in others. The doctor was fine and was quite straightforward about what we need to do but there were some issues. My app was at 9.45 and didn't get in until 10.25, then I was in there for 3 mins and he got a call. He said he was arranging an emergency hospital admission and would I mind stepping out. So I waited in the corridor and didn't get back in till 10.40. Then was done about 10.50. Had to queue to speak for reception. Got home well after 11 so took nearly 2 hours door to door for a simple GP app. I was well stressed when I got back to my desk!

As it was he did what he needed to do but didn't really feel like he asked me any questions etc really. We are sending our results from the private clinic over. My OH has to have a second SA done as they need two on his record (luckily have one from the private clinic). I am booked in for day 21 progesterone test. Then we have another appointment after those results are in and we can be referred after that. He said waiting list at the moment is a couple of months but not sure how much he would know tbh.

So all in all I think I got what I needed but wasn't a great experience.
Just need to get myself in the zone for my blood test now (needle phobia 🥲)

Hertility have sent me another testing kit so I will give it one more go on day 3. If that doesn't work I think I will ask for the partial refund and if they push back will say I'm pregnant already as that's outlined on their T&Cs. I want those tests done as it looks at thyroid function etc as well as progesterone.

krissy12 · 17/06/2023 11:32

how annoying for you sounds like such a stressful appointment having to wait around but at least you are not getting the ball rolling.

Do you know exactly when you ovulate the day 21 test is only accurate if you do otherwise it can be out or in my case completely unreliable. I'm only saying this to ease your mind slightly because when I had mine I didn't really understand it but mine came back that I hadn't ovulated at all that cycle and I panicked when I actually ovulated about a week after the test however this did trigger the referral to the fertility clinic for me.

LucyLoopyLu · 17/06/2023 14:08

@krissy12 yeah, I was thinking that. If I think it will be really out I will ring reception and let them know but it should be OK. My cycles vary a bit but fairly regular. I'll keep an eye on OPKs and if I think it's going to be too soon to get a proper reading I'll ask to move it.

When I had the scan they said they thought I had ovulated but would be good to get a progesterone reading as well.
As long as we get the ball rolling on the referral I'm happy.

How are things with you?

krissy12 · 17/06/2023 17:19

yes definitely good to get the ball rolling.

I'm doing okay thanks a few people in work are now pregnant and although I genuinely am happy for them one of them is a good friend I am feeling quite sad for myself I think especially because if I hadn't had the mc I would be pregnant with them and be off on mat leave with my friend etc but trying not to dwell on it too much

DesertSnow · 17/06/2023 20:10

@LucyLoopyLu glad to hear you essentially got what you needed from the appointment, but sorry it was such a stressful experience.

@krissy12 I'm sorry you're finding it so hard. Really hope you get your BFP soon.

Welshgal85 · 18/06/2023 10:16

@krissy12 @LucyLoopyLu thanks both, will see how this month goes and maybe look into some testing after that. DP is so relaxed about it all though and thinks we should just see how things go.

Im trying to take a more relaxed approach this month, stopped doing OPK’s and trying to distract myself so I’m not thinking about things so much
