Finally realised that our previous thread was full 🤣 I hope no one minds me starting up a new one!

Can you believe it's been almost a year since this was all started up?!

11DPO today, back ache, boob pain, bloating, irritable etc. Some very brief, short sharp cramping the other day. DH and I not hopeful, rather just coasting along waiting to see if we have to go for the next transfer. It's been 14 long months. Weary but determined.

DesertSnow · 18/05/2023 15:36

@PinkButtercups how are the twins doing?

@SarahShorty fingers crossed for you.

I haven't got the most cheery update, I'm afraid. At 29 weeks it was flagged that my bump was measuring 5 weeks behind (not even 1st centile) so was referred for an urgent ultrasound. They found that baby is small and in particular her femur is measuring very short. We've now been referred to fetal medicine for a scan but they're concerned there's something wrong. Current leading theory is fetal growth restriction due to placental insufficiency, so I've been put on high alert for tracking movement as risk of stillbirth due to this is very real. Other potential scenarios include dwarfism, downs, disability. Best case scenario is just she's a very small baby with little legs, but they think there's something else going on. For now it's a watch/wait/pray situation.

Hope everyone is doing ok, hoping that those of you still waiting get your BFP soon.

SarahShorty · 18/05/2023 15:48

@DesertSnow I'm so so sorry xx Flowers I don't normally pray, but I am praying for you right now. Hopefully she's just a very small baby.

DesertSnow · 18/05/2023 15:51

@SarahShorty Thank you so much, that's very kind of you. I'm still in shock I think, having got the all-clear at the anomaly scan we just weren't expecting this. Really really hoping she's just little.

Houseelf90 · 18/05/2023 18:24

@DesertSnow I’m so sorry to hear this 😞 my first thought on reading your first message was did anything show up on the anomaly scan, which you’ve obviously answered in your second message, just makes it even more of a shock!! I’m praying you just have a small baby, I always wonder how these scans and dating by size can be accurate when every baby is different, big, small, short, tall etc. I’m glad they’ve found it though so you can be monitored and any intervention done that’s needed 🤞🏼💕 thinking of you and your partner xx

Houseelf90 · 18/05/2023 18:28

I had my 20 week scan last week and all was well with baby, my placenta is low though so I have another scan booked in for 32 weeks. We didn’t find out what we’re having as would like that to be a surprise when baby comes, although my friends are all gutted and want to start shopping but want to know what to buy for 🤣

Really hoping that those TTC get good news soon, sending baby dust to you all 💖

DesertSnow · 18/05/2023 19:44

@Houseelf90 Thank you. Glad your scan went well, a surprise will be lovely for you 😊

SarahShorty · 18/05/2023 19:46

Something keeps telling me to test, but it's only 12DPO. I've been having cramps on and off since Tuesday. It's too early for me to get cramps like that a few days before AF is due, so I think my mind is saying to test because it's a little unusual. I'm going to hold out until Sunday, which will be when AF is late.

krissy12 · 18/05/2023 22:27

@DesertSnow my sis in law was told my nieces femur was too short and she has regular scans and all was fine when she was born hopefully same for you

@Houseelf90 I had a low lying placenta with my little boy and it moved apparently its quite common and more likely to move than not

Houseelf90 · 18/05/2023 23:09

@DesertSnow thank you 💛

@SarahShorty I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!!

@krissy12 yes I read that it’s pretty common, and 90% that show low at 20weeks have moved up by 32 weeks. To be honest I was a little bit pleased that we will get to see baby again 🙈

PinkButtercups · 19/05/2023 16:19

@DesertSnow oh my gosh. How scary. It won't mean much now because you're obviously worried and anxious but when I had my many twin consultant appts there was a lady there every 2 weeks when I was. She was a surrogate carrying twins and one of the girls femurs were measuring short. She was just a smaller baby!

Hope everything goes okay for you and your little girl. When is your next appointments for growth etc?

@Houseelf90 the element of surprise is lovely when you first meet them!

PinkButtercups · 19/05/2023 16:21

They're 5.5 months now! Such content happy babies. Thank you for asking 🥰 x

DesertSnow · 20/05/2023 20:12

@SarahShorty any update?

@krissy12 thank you, really hoping she's just short.

@PinkButtercups thanks for sharing, really hope she's just a smaller baby. Looks to be, she's 10th centile for weight. I should get TORCH screen back in a few days, then got scan with FMU on 31st which feels like an age away but I understand they need to assess how much she grows over the two weeks since the last scan. Just a very anxious time. I'm 30 weeks today and right now every day feels like a milestone in itself. Ah so glad the twins are doing well, they sound gorgeous 😍

SarahShorty · 20/05/2023 20:15

@DesertSnow 14DPO today. AF is due tomorrow, not today. I caved and tested and got a BFN. I also got the tiniest speck of light brown spotting. I didn't get my first ever very faint BFP until about 15DPO, although that was a chemical. So I just don't know. The wait continues.

DesertSnow · 20/05/2023 20:17

@SarahShorty Sorry about the BFN. Got my fingers crossed for you, it's still early.

SarahShorty · 20/05/2023 22:42

I've had a little bit more brown discharge, very light and similar to implantation spotting, but I feel so much like AF is on its way. I've had no more cramps, so it's possible it won't. It will probably come with a vengeance tomorrow. It's hard to stay positive after so long. If this doesn't work, it'll be time for the next transfer.

krissy12 · 20/05/2023 23:24

fingers crossed for you @SarahShorty

PinkButtercups · 20/05/2023 23:41

@DesertSnow Oh the waiting is horrible. Thinking of you x
That's it. Every day she is nice and tucked up and kicking away is a good thing.
My friend delivered her twins at 30 weeks and they're 7 months old now and you wouldn't think they were 30 weekers! I don't say that to scare you but to reassure you that tiny bit.
Keep us updated if you feel up to it. Will be thinking of you and your precious baby girl xx

@SarahShorty 🤞🏼 for you xx

PinkButtercups · 20/05/2023 23:42

Does anyone use Instagram? If you want to (don't have to of course) PM me your instagrams and I'll follow you. It would be nice to put some faces behind the names. Again, only if you want to xx

SarahShorty · 21/05/2023 10:22

Thanks all xx BBT dropped below baseline this morning, so AF will arrive in a day or two 😔 I'll likely be arranging the next FET for June.

The weather is gorgeous and lots of kids and newborns out. Pretending to be happy is wearing me down, trying to avoid being near people I have nothing in common with is impossible and almost not worth the effort anymore. Maybe fate will be kind to me for a change, who knows. I'm just so tired. I deleted all my socials a while ago because I couldn't tolerate it anymore. Just relax, they say. It'll happen, they say. I keep plodding along and wearing a smile, fearing that I'm going to snap one day.

Sorry for the rant. I've just reached my limit of giving a shit.

Welshgal85 · 21/05/2023 16:03

Oh @SarahShorty sending you lots of love ❤️ I understand that feeling of just feeling fed up with it all.

@DesertSnow sorry to hear about your news, that must have been a shock. Fingers crossed for you that all ends up okay. Take things day by day.

Welshgal85 · 21/05/2023 16:10

Not much of an update from me. Still finding it hard not to stress and overthink things. I’m on day 16 atm and testing high. We’ve DTD on day 8, 11 and today. Hopefully can do again in next few days as should reach peak soon.

I find it difficult as feel we’re not doing it enough. DP is much more go with the flow and doesn’t stress if we don’t DTD whereas I just keep thinking about missed opportunities and when we should be doing it. Getting fed up of thinking about it all the time tbh, so many women around me are getting pregnant too so that’s making things harder.

HeathenPlayingHouse · 22/05/2023 10:14

Good morning ladies!

Just thought I'd pop my head in to update. I started my new job 2 weeks ago, so we're going to start TTC again for the next cycle. Currently CD43 and taking Provera since it seems to be a longer cycle- hopefully AF should show her face in the next 2 weeks. I should be rattling with the amount of tablets I'm taking 😂

@DesertSnow Hopefully baby just has little legs, thinking of you.

BethSuz27 · 22/05/2023 11:16

So I’ve been MIA for a few months as we’ve been struggling. Unfortunately me and my partner split up yesterday.

my period was 3 days late so this morning I decided to do a test and what shitty timing but good news!

due on my birthday next year 🥰
