Bubblesandballoons · 23/01/2023 10:37

@LuckyMoonstone ahh I’m so happy for you

LuckyMoonstone · 23/01/2023 11:32

Thanks all 😁

MIW01 · 23/01/2023 12:16

Hello, I am sorry to hear of everyone's losses. It really is the most painful and misunderstood experience.

I'm almost 5 years into TTC #1. I'm now 37, started TTC age 32. I have low ovarian reserve. Have been through 3 unsuccessful rounds of NHS funded IVF (had to move areas to get this). I then conceived in August 2022 and miscarried at 6+5 weeks. It was a complete miscarriage.

Initially it gave us hope because we now know that we CAN get pregnant naturally but we are now 5 cycles later and not conceived again. And that glimmer of hope we had is slowly dying.

We're preparing for privately funded IVF that we hope to start around March time but I am in so much emotional pain with this journey and NHS have just told me that I'm too complicated for their mental health services - WTF?! I have had some counselling already but both me and DH need more than 3 or 5 online sessions!

I wondered if anyone else in this thread has had a similar experience?

Mannymoomin · 23/01/2023 12:36

@LuckyMoonstone thats great, what a relief!

@MIW01 so sorry you have found yourself here, I’m afraid I can’t help with the IVF but what a long road you’ve walked , that must be incredibly difficult and I’m sorry that the NHS said you’re too complicated for them, that is awful.
everyone here is so lovely though, and I hope we can all bring you some comfort in knowing you aren’t totally alone.

I just squeezed out my tenth and very tiny bloody wee to check on a frer, it’s only been 2 days since the bleeding started but the test line is no different, I need to wait for it to dry really to compare but I would expect it to be a little fainter by now, I know the hcg hangs around for ages, but surely there should be some difference

MrsC2018 · 23/01/2023 12:58

@MIW01 yes! I'm so sorry you've had such an awful journey so far. Mine's different to yours in that I have 3 older children (2 step) but started to TTC for my 2nd and our 4th in 2016. Our daughter was conceived in 2020 as the 5th and final transfer from 3 rounds of IVF. We then paid for 2 cycles of IVF when she was nearly 1, the first failed in 2021 and then last year I conceived twice, but lost them both at 16 weeks. We're now on our 2nd cycle of trying naturally after the last miscarriage. We still have 1 round of IVF that we need to use this year but I can't bring myself to call them and sign up for that again, I absolutely hated IVF and not sure if I can put myself through that again to be honest. Does your private clinic offer counselling? It's £50 a session from what I can remember so in my experience tough to prioritise that over the extortionate cost of the treatment. Have you seen the mindful IVF app, I find his voice very soothing and there's a miscarriage section too

@LuckyMoonstone fabulous news 🥰

@Mannymoomin might be worth a call to the EPU if you've not already, I bled awfully with my first daughters pregnancy - bright red blood, clots and cramping. Genuinely couldn't believe a tiny embryo could hold on but she did. It started at 5+3, and was on and off until 11 weeks. They wouldn't scan me until 6 weeks (covid so had to go to a private place) but when they did there was a heartbeat. The waiting is torture, hope you find your answers soon

Mannymoomin · 23/01/2023 12:58

Top test is 3 days ago 2MU, bottom is today, 15 min hold and bloody wee.
todays looks darker, I’m so confused

Mannymoomin · 23/01/2023 13:10

@MrsC2018 my local epu is by gp referral only, and I didn’t tell my gp in case this happened.
I did speak to the local private clinic and they just said epu wouldn’t see me before 6 weeks unless there’s pain anyway, and private won’t see me before 6 weeks either as it’d be inconclusive.
private just said test again in a week, if it’s still positive they’ll scan me, if it’s negative then the pregnancy has passed and that’s all the advice they gave.

I have read so many stories of ladies heavily bleeding and really believing it’s a mc only to be scanned and find a healthy baby, I do hope I’m one of them too, but the bleeding is so heavy I just can’t believe it’s anything else.

LuckyMoonstone · 23/01/2023 14:44

@Mannymoomin that line is so much stronger isn’t it! I mean, I really didn’t think I’d be the woman who thought she had a period but was then pregnant 🤷‍♀️the woman that you read about on old Google threads, but these things happen. How far along did you say you were? You could ring 111, they could then refer you to EPU themselves or they’ll get a GP to ring you urgently, who could then refer you (that’s the route I took last year)

Ella31 · 23/01/2023 14:46

11dpo period just came with a vengeance. Time to have a good cry and start all over again 😪

bringmearainbow · 23/01/2023 14:52

@Ella31 11dpo def not out lovely. The waiting is so hard try and be patient and do some other things to try and distract you as much as possible

@MIW01 so sorry what an ordeal youve been through and terrible your too complicated what a thing to say to you!

@Mannymoomin gosh what an odd conundrum I really hope everything turns out ok for you. I certainly wouldn't expect it to be darker so that's a promising sign at least. Will you test again before the week or just wait a week?

Mannymoomin · 23/01/2023 15:06

@bringmearainbow its sooo weird.

@LuckyMoonstone I phoned my gp surgery and they said they’re too busy so ring 111, which I have done but felt really bad about doing, I’m waiting for someone to ring me back now, hopefully with a referral to epu to find out what’s going on

Mannymoomin · 23/01/2023 15:08

@LuckyMoonstone I should be 5+2

LuckyMoonstone · 23/01/2023 15:10

@Mannymoomin dont feel bad, that’s what they are there for. Hope they don’t take too long to call you back

Mannymoomin · 23/01/2023 15:32

@LuckyMoonstone they just called and basically said they won’t see me yet as it’s still so early and I don’t have any shoulder pain. basically just said to wait it out, so I’m in limbo for a week, unless of course my tests start getting lighter.
But the nurse I spoke to didn’t seem bothered about my tests being stronger and she just said the hormones can linger for a few weeks after a MC and not to read too much into strength of tests as time of day etc can affect them. which obviously I know, but after days of heavy bleeding with clots I’d expect the test to be lighter not darker

LuckyMoonstone · 23/01/2023 15:45

@Mannymoomin for gods sake how useless can they be. Urgh I know it’s hard but wait a week and if the tests are still strong then you can really argue your case even more to get seen

Ella31 · 23/01/2023 15:47

Mu period seems to have gone back to 28 day cycle just like before my mc 4 months ago. Is that good or bad. It's been 32 since the mc. Devastated it came today but strange it went back to 28 days

LuckyMoonstone · 23/01/2023 16:02

@Ella31 I’d say that’s good if 28 is what’s more normal for you. Was your ovulation day back to how it used to be as well?

Mannymoomin · 24/01/2023 12:29

@Ella31, I agree, going back to pre mc cycles is definitely a good thing.

I stopped bleeding yesterday evening, and this am actually, until I had a BM then started spotting again.

I’ve taken 2 tests again today, fmu was a line quite a bit fainter than yesterday’s so I thought that got me out of limbo, squeezed out a tiny dribble of wee just now though and it’s still as dark as yesterday’s.

So I really don’t know, after this mornings fainter line I wasn’t actually overly disappointed, I just thought, well at least I know now and can crack on with the next cycle, but now I’m thrown again

Ella31 · 24/01/2023 13:09

LuckyMoonstone · 23/01/2023 16:02

@Ella31 I’d say that’s good if 28 is what’s more normal for you. Was your ovulation day back to how it used to be as well?

I don't know about mu ovulation as I conceived on my honeymoon and it was my first baby the one I miscarried so I had never tracked it before. I'm thinking of trying acupuncture if February doesn't work, so one more cycle.

MIW01 · 25/01/2023 13:14

Thank you @Mannymoomin @MrsC2018 @bringmearainbow I'm sorry to hear of your experiences. When I miscarried they said I couldn't have a scan until 8 weeks, so we paid for a private scan which was inconclusive . . . I was told to wait 2 weeks and then test . . . The following day I got a call from the EPU to come in for a scan and they confirmed the miscarriage. I was 6+5 at that point. The nurses were absolutely horrified at how I'd been treated. Said I should have been sent straight to them as soon as I called in with my symptoms.

Mannymoomin · 25/01/2023 16:00

I’ve just done a cb digi and still getting 1-2 weeks with a one hour hold.
I used a digi 4 days ago too when the bleeding started and got 1-2 weeks then which would’ve been 5 weeks exactly.
Im either 5+4 or CD4.
Bleeding has completely stopped now, was full on heavy for 2 days and then light pink spotting on the third day.
AF is always 7 days minimum for me and sometimes 9 days for the last dregs to come out.
I really am stumped with this, surely a CP at 5 weeks wouldn’t produce enough hcg to linger about for 4 days after bleeding.
but then my tests were never strong to begin with so maybe it’s an ectopic? But I don’t have symptoms of ectopic

Mannymoomin · 25/01/2023 16:06

@MIW01 sorry to hear that, it’s really terrible, epu won’t see me without any pain.
Im hoping to get a private scan on Monday if I’m still testing positive as they won’t see me before 6 weeks as it’ll be inconclusive.
But still, Monday seems so far away, if it is a cp or ectopic then I’d prefer to know sooner rather than later so I can move on

LuckyMoonstone · 25/01/2023 16:26

@Mannymoomin definitely get on at the EPU once you get to the 6 week mark, you need to be seen!

MIW01 · 25/01/2023 17:13

@Mannymoomin I really feel for you, it's the not knowing and the waiting is the most awful thing! I will keep everything crossed that it's as simple as possible for you so you can move forward
