Starting IVF December 2022- looking for a tribe!

Hello fellow IVF buddies (hopefully),

My wife and I will be starting our first round of IVF in December/ January. I will be carrying.

We lost a baby this time last year with a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks. So this is a charged time of year for us.
We are excited and nervous.

We have had our initial consultation- AMH and egg reserve looked good.

We have our nurses appointment this week.

I am always terrified of being weighed- I’m always sitting in the 29 category- I would love to be lower but struggle with weight loss.
How many times and when were you weighed during your cycles?

Looking for others who are going through IVF at this time to swap anxieties and stories with a keep each other going.

I confide in my wife also, but sometimes it’s nice to talk to the stranger friends you make here to keep you going!!

We've got the go ahead for Thursday. My E2 has tipped over 10,000 (by 38) so they will monitor for OHSS.
Have ordered electrolytes and bone broth to try and bring the risk down!

I keep reading forums where people who've down fresh transfers seem to get early bfps day 5/6. My hopes are now very low as I've done 2 tests today and both stark white! Trying to picture seeing a second line and imagining ringing hubby to tell him (he's working away). Xx

I'm NHS @MRSLMF ! They are fab. Same nurses from iui. New doctors.
We really like them. It was a long wait but worth it. And financially we are delighted 😀

not a pregnancy test - Testing out trigger!!

So I started testing my trigger today. Mostly just to check that the injection has worked and is in my body. The egg collection is tomorrow. I'll watch the trigger leave my body and hope that it will start getting darker again next week ❤️

I know lots of people don't test their triggers and are patient and wait for their beta day, but...I'm not that person 😂

I’m in two minds about testing out the trigger! I’ll either decide to wait until official test date or end up testing out trigger to test early.

I can’t wait until I don’t have to do any more injections!!

I let my wife do the plunger on the trigger shot, and she pressed so hard 😂 lesson learnt. I do not like others doing my injections 😂
Yes today is washing my fav pjs, packing my bag for the morning.
I'm first on the list so hopefully they will be out by this time tomorrow!

Any tips for recovery?

@mrsmw132 Rest, lots of fluids and 2 paracetamols on leaving the hospital after collection. I didn’t do this last time and spent the night in bed in pain but lesson learnt and I will deffo be doing that next time lol 😂 x

I second SH998 paracetamol and plenty of water and rest up.
I was uncomfortable and bloated for about 2-3 days but it got easier each day :)

I wish I hadn't done this, I thought it would be nice to be prepared for the negative test on OTD but actually I've been depressed everyday seeing the negative line lol in hindsight wish I'd waited until Saturday and just taken the hit come what may!

Having done my iui treatment I remember what that felt like. I'm not looking forward to it, but for me it's controlling that disappointment.
Stocked up on paracetamol. Got my giant water bottle and electrolytes and bone broth 🤪 as I'm at risk of OHSS.
How many hours of sleep will I get? 0!

Oh no don't apologise at all :) if I had a positive test I'd be glad I did test earlier lol! It's the good old roller coaster of ivf

That's me home.
All went well. I don't remember any of it so that is a win.
They collected 10 eggs! So now it's the daily wait for updates to see who makes it to judges houses!

Had my first stims scans today.

I have 8 follicules, about 6 of them are between 14 - 19. There are two smaller ones about 10/11. Lining is 11.8.

Meds as normal tonight, then back at the clinic tomorrow for another scan.

It’s looking like Monday for egg collection, I’m nearly there, apparently!

@mrsmw132 Apart from feeling a bit crampy, I'm ok. I couldn't concentrate most of the day at work waiting for the call, but I'm feeling much better now knowing I have responded ok. Super strong stims appears to have done the trick. I'll try and see if I can make a note of what I have tomorrow to see if any more have emerged in the 24 hours!

I've started bleeding heavily today, spoken to the clinic I'm out for this go and they will call me early next week to arrange an appt with the Dr to discuss next steps, hopefully go ahead with frostie in 6-8 weeks depending on my cycle. Fingers crossed frostie has more luck ❄️😁

@MRSLMF I'm sorry this round hasn't worked. Fingers crossed for frostie though. Hopefully you get an appointment with clinic sooner rather than later

So, out of our 10 collected, 8 have fertilised. Now it's the anxious wait until the phone call on Sunday 🤞
