Starting IVF December 2022- looking for a tribe!

Hello fellow IVF buddies (hopefully),

My wife and I will be starting our first round of IVF in December/ January. I will be carrying.

We lost a baby this time last year with a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks. So this is a charged time of year for us.
We are excited and nervous.

We have had our initial consultation- AMH and egg reserve looked good.

We have our nurses appointment this week.

I am always terrified of being weighed- I’m always sitting in the 29 category- I would love to be lower but struggle with weight loss.
How many times and when were you weighed during your cycles?

Looking for others who are going through IVF at this time to swap anxieties and stories with a keep each other going.

I confide in my wife also, but sometimes it’s nice to talk to the stranger friends you make here to keep you going!!

So guys....after a miserable start to the week and tall of a failed cycle they went ahead with egg collection yesterday and we got 4 eggs! I was over the moon. This morning the embryologist has called and all 4 eggs have fertilised! Now they just need to keep going for 5 days and fingers crossed embryo transfer on Tuesday!
I cant quite believe our luck! What an emotional roller coaster this week has been! But I hope this gives you all some hope that even when things don't go as planned anything is possible!

@MRSLMF having a weekend in the middle must be so frustrating. Hoping the news is good from the embryology team.

I'm om day five stims with monitoring tomorrow morning. I'm literally wishing away days just now trying to get to the next set injections or the next appointment to be one steps closer to a baby 🤰

We are waiting for a call this morning for an update on the eggs that I'm now calling our quads lol
I've not slept with anxiety!
Ahhh exciting that you get a day 5 scan on stims! I didn't get one until day 10! How you feeling on the stims? I was really lightheaded and nauseous of a morning on them but I'd do it all again in a second :)
I was devastated after our day 10 scan as hadn't stimulated really but they still managed to get 4 eggs so whatever happens tomorrow don't lose hope :) xxx

Had our day 3 embryo update all 4 still going strong :) 2 average quality and 2 good quality. Embryo transfer Tuesday! I cant quite believe we have made it to embryo transfer what a difference in a week! It really is a roller coaster ride xx

So after days 1-4 feeling fine, today I'm feeling quite tired and a little nauseous 🥲
Teaching tomorrow is going to be fun.

Fingers crossed its not too bad tomorrow, I had lots of ginger tea although I'm not sure that helped much lol!

I’ve been quiet, mainly because there hadn’t been much to report. But period started Friday and I’ve finally got down regulation scan mark 2 in the diary for Wednesday. Hopefully I can finally start Stims then!

@mrsmw132 Hope you’re feeling ok today on the Stims.

@Lauralozzle that must have been so frustrating but you are finally on the move!!

Had my first stims scan this morning. I had 6 at 8/9mm
3 at 9/10mm
And one at 12mm

They have taken bloods and they'll let me know if I need to increase dosage this avo.

Back for a scan on Friday. I'm hoping egg collection should be early next week.

My day 10 scan I had 1 at 16 that turned out to be a cyst and everything else was below 9! Yours sounds really good and super positive yay!

They've upped my dosage to 225 gonal F to try and help my right ovary catch up and my less mature follicles grow up a wee bit between now and Friday.

I am beyond exhausted. Made it through Monday though. Just taking it one day at a time.

I do feel a lot less exhausted not on the stims so just a few more days to go for you!
I'm on progesterone injections now but only 1 pessary at night and then an injection in mornings, I've read on forums that others have had 2 pessaries a day so I wonder why I'm only on one, I'm going to ask tomorrow. Xxx

Had my Embryo transfer this morning :) it was graded as 5AB which very good so they say so fingers crossed its a sticky one! Pregnancy test 28th January 11 days post transfer, these next 11 days will drag!

OMG! I had friend over tonight for stitch and b**tch, which is always fun.
But I'm in so much pain in my hips. When my endo is bad this is where I hurt, but all night I have been feeling so tired and poorly.
Not fun.
Work tomorrow is going to be a nightmare if it continues.
I'm on my feet most of the day, which hurts, and I hurt when I sit down.
Come on lots of eggs, but I wouldn't mind hurting a bit less ❤️

Stitch and b*tch sounds great fun!! I was saying to hubs last night I might learn how to knit again I've not done it since I was a kid!
Oh so sorry to hear your in such discomfort, it will all be worth it, how many days left do you have on stims?
I've had groin aching and cramping on the progesterone injection and pessaries, and a few days after egg retrieval I was quite uncomfortable and bloated but hot water bottle and paracetamol really helped.
I'm currently obsessing over how to know if embryo has implanted but all the symptoms I already have from the progesterone so I need to chill out and just be patient!

Super cute though the clinic gave us an ultrasound pic of the embryo going in...although I cannot see anything on the pic lol!

Better day today. Bit more emotional, but less pain. It feels more like pressure.
Scan is Friday. I have a feeling it will be Saturday trigger Monday retrieval, but only if I have big follicles. I'm hoping for good outcome 🤪

Day 10 scan tomorrow. Could barely open my eyes this morning and slept through my alarm.
Not feeling as sore which is good.
Am feeling nervous about the numbers. What if we aren't there?

Your 5 day scan was much better than my day 10 scan and they increased your stims I stayed on the 175 and then did an extra 4 days of stims (it's 14 days max on stims) you then do a trigger shot 36hrs exactly before collection :) I'm really hopeful and positive for you! At my day 10 scan I only had 1 follicle above the threshold with the only explanation being I needed higher dose stims which I was never given! However 2 weeks later I'm day 2 post embryo transfer and 1 embryo in the freezer so I'm super super hopeful and positive for you :) let us know how you get on fingers toes and eyes crossed xxx

Sorry just checked i was 225 meriofert for a total of 14 days, day 10 scan had 2 above threshold but one was a cyst not a follicle, day 13 I had 2 above threshold and by egg collection day 16 i got 4 eggs :) hope that reassures you xxx
