What IVF dose and how many eggs did you get?

Hey,

It's my second cycle if ivf, I'm on Bemfola 225 iu and it's day 4 of my cycle. Last time I was on Gonal F 150iu. Was wondering if it will produce more eggs now.

Just wanted to ask anyones dosage, the name of their ivf medication and the egg result, home many were retrieved?

I did 2 rounds of Bemfola 225ml and got 14 eggs both time (AMH of 11.9)

I can’t remember any more but as they increased the dose each cycle, the number of oocytes decreased. The successful cycle was 75 every other day plus clomid or something similar.

The successful one was 5 oocytes, the unsuccessful were 2, 1, 0

I don't think it just comes down to medication doses always though.. my doctors put me on the lowest dose possible and it stimulated me incredibly. Produced 45 eggs, 30 mature, 24 fertilized and 23 remaining embryos at day 5.

On another person my dose could've resulted in 1 egg. It really varies with your body's reactions I think.

I was on 300 of Gonal F and got 8 eggs, 6 fertilised. My amh was 6.3.

My first cycle was like 10 days of gonal f. The doctor said they will increase the dosage to get more eggs next time. I've seen women do the same amount of days and get loads of eggs so I wondered if a higher dosage was to do with it. Of course our bodies all react differently too, plus age, AMH and cycles varies.

Thats so interesting as I'm on Bemfola too, 225iu, only will be for like 10 days, AMH is 14.7. On my way to my day 5 scan.

300-325 pergoveris/gonal f - usually 11-13 eggs. Amh 20.7.

My eggs are poor quality though so never more than 2 blasts in 4 rounds, whether 8 fertilised or 4.

So had my day 5 scan and seems like Bemfola 225iu is reacting well, more eggs than last cycle with Gonal F 150iu. The nurse was like it's too early to see much now and we did.

This time:
14 follicles, 8 on right side and 6 on left side. Vary is size 13mm to under 6mm.

Last time 6 follicles, only 4 on right and 2 on left side.

I have a fibroid blocking the left ovary from the ivf instruments so really need the right side to do well. Have 4 more than last time on the right.

I started my first round on 150 Meriofert, with 8 follicles but by day 7 they appeared to stop growing, so they increased my dose but next scan follicles had reduced and was aborted.
Second attempt they changed meds and upped the dosage to 225 Bemfola which worked wonders, they managed to retrieve 14 follicles, 7 fertilised and 2 made it to 5 day blastocyst.

Sounds like Bemfola worked well for you. I have my day 7 scan in Friday. I'm hoping I make it to a day 5 blastocyst. Last time I had one perfect 8 cell no fragmentation day 3 embryo and it didn't implant. So hope I get better news this time. I found the embryo wait to know how they're doing tough.

Hi Op, as someone whose done ivf its quality not quantity. Don't obsess over numbers and potentially set yourself up for disappointment - it just takes one

@hoowhoo I've experienced ivf too and im doing mild ivf which is all about quality over quantity so i know it only takes one egg but for me as I said one of my ovaries can not be access so eggs will be left behind so the more eggs they can get from the other ovary the better as hopefully one will be a good quality. Disappointment is a natural feeling its OK to feel that with this so we process are feelings in a healthy way.

@Hyppyb the whole waiting process is difficult and stressful, I don’t think I had more than 4 hours sleep a night while going through the whole IVF process, my mind was constantly overthinking and just unable to settle.
My first embryo implanted which was a massive shock after 6 years of trying and never getting a BFP. Sadly I lost it at 8 weeks but luckily we have one freezing which I’m hoping to implant next month.
Fingers crossed your next scan will give you the positive news you want and you will make it to that all important 5 day blastocyst 🤞🏼 x

@SH998 really hope your frozen embryo is the one especially after the heartache you've experienced.

I think if your older or have a low egg reserve its about pot luck, that one of the eggs you get is of a good quality.

Anyone who does ivf knows that. I asked the original question only to hear what meds other people took and their egg count. Not because I think by knowing it will change anything. Its just interesting.

Just had my day 10 scan. Bemfola with the higher dose 225, seems to have grown more eggs and quicker. 15 follicles.

@SH998 Thanks. Yeah Wednesday is egg collection. I'm to waiting for a phone call today to hear what time I should take the trigger. They will likely leave half the eggs behind because of lack of access in my left ovary but at least there are more eggs and bigger than last time to collect.

@SH998 Good luck. Do you know if you will do a natural or medicated frozen embryo transfer? I did a medicated FET one last time and the hormones and the 7 day delay of my period was full on.

@Hyppyb thank you, I’ve no idea as this is my first frozen. I ovulate naturally just never catch naturally so not sure what they will recommend. I’ve tried Googling but nothing is really clear to me x

@SH998 I have regular periods and ovulate naturally too on time. I was told by the doctor medicated FET puts them more in control of your cycle, no ovulating at the wrong time. I was put on eostrogen pills 3 times a day and then vaginal pessaries. It thickens the lining of your womb and helps implantation. What I found is my clinic didn't explain anything like side effects. Also didn't say my period would be delayed by the meds hence you have to go in for a blood test as Aunt Flo won't tell you you're not pregnant. My period was delayed by 7 days, which has changed my cycle going forward and I just felt really rough physically and mentally from the meds but of course would do it all again when the time comes.

started stims on Friday in 150 Bemfola. I’m 43 and my Amh is 11.5. They can only see 6 follicles today on my days 6 scan.
started cetrotide on advice of clinic and told not to increase my Bemfola dose. I’m worried that I will have a low yield of eggs.
