Hi ladies. I have started to feel a little overwhelmed with our usual thread and we are at different stages of our journeys now. Please feel free to leave this one if you don't feel the same but I feel so invested in your journeys and don't want to miss any news. Hoping this is ok, I don't think you can do DM as a group?
Hope you are all doing well and if there's anyone I've missed from the usual bunch feel free to add 😘😘😘

@bunnykins123 the clinic have my referral already so hopefully get an idea of wait times soon, thanks for the details ☺️. What's the next steps for you lovely? Will you be on pred when you get a positive? Hope you're doing ok xx

@TheBirdintheCave Aaw in a way I am glad you still have all the symptoms though it can't be pleasant. Take it easy and have those rests when you need them! Especially with a little one running around too 😊

@FfayeN Thankfully he's at his childminders most of the day 😅

lovenaps · 24/11/2022 10:52

@FfayeN I am okay, thank you ❤x It's been a few days without symptoms and I freaked out to a point where I thought it would be good to have another scan but then realised I can't have scans constantly, instead I need to find my ways to control anxiety. Will just wait until the 13 week one and hope for the best. How are you lovely? Been thinking about you lots?
@MrsCristianoX Definitely let them update your records + add the chemicals! I am so sorry to hear your first m/c was a result of negligence 😓x
@FfayeN @MrsCristianoX I know you are both speaking about NK cells and I just want to pass something on which was said to me by someone who is an obstetrician + fertility specialist. This person said that they (obs+fert specialists) do not believe in high NK cells as an issue and that there is some evidence popping up now that it can be even beneficial to have increased numbers as NK cells play very important role in pregnancy too.... I am so so so confused. I was reading lots about Dr. S clinic and people are saying that they had so many losses and then conceived successfully after treatment for NK cells. Also, there are some NHS clinics that deal with NK cells (I appreciate most don't). I mean, where is the truth?? It can't be a coincidence that people just have successful pregnancies after having medication for elevated NK cells? It seems that nobody knows the answer... The reason why I am saying this is that if either of you has high NK cells, I just don't want you thinking that your bodies are at fault 💐💐x
Having passed that info on, if I was told I had high NK cells and I could get something for it, I would definitely go for it, just to give it a chance. Where I am there is no testing + treatment for NK and the next place that does it is really far away.

MrsCristianoX · 24/11/2022 13:58

@lovenaps my fault too. I know medicine and should have realised but the pregnancy really shocked me. I did ask the gp after a scan at 6 weeks and she said not to change anything until advised by a consultant. It was a tough time ngl but I got through it xx

FfayeN · 24/11/2022 15:55

@lovenaps yep you're so right there is such conflicting views on the whole thing but I appreciate you sharing what you've heard too. I think we will head down the IVF route now, I don't know if I could take any more without help of some kind and it still not work out.
Procedure is booked for tomorrow so there is progression 😊.

There is nothing wrong with getting scans according to how you're dealing with the anxiety, is your next one about 4 weeks away? I would be tempted to have one in the middle, but only you know what will be best for you. I totally get the ignorance is bliss part but also no one here would judge you for having one every few days even! 😘 xx

@MrsCristianoX it's so hard because you're the patient! We rely on GPs to be the holy grail of knowledge and sadly their not. Sometimes I think they just wing it for the best and it has awful awful consequences 😔 xx

MrsCristianoX · 24/11/2022 16:02

@FfayeN did you hear from hospital yet? I'm more objective when it comes to other people but I was super stressed then and couldn't separate myself. Just really wanted someone to help me but mid covid it wasn't easy.

Anyway ladies Portugal are playing my fav Cristiano ronaldo is on so I'm happy today for now 😍

MrsCristianoX · 24/11/2022 16:07

@FfayeN sorry just reread that lovely..I'm so sorry xx

IVF is off the table for me. I had a stroke caused by the pill years ago x

FfayeN · 24/11/2022 16:09

@MrsCristianoX I'm sorry that's not an option for you, but there must be something the CAN do to help implantation. Did you call the Doctor? Enjoy...he is dreamy!!!

MrsCristianoX · 24/11/2022 16:21

@FfayeN omg what a nightmare today. They said my appointment to get a blood test wasn't today but next week (lies) receptionist couldn't fit me in today or tomorrow so I marched round to the treatment room and asked if she could squeeze me in. I did work there so know the nurse well. Blood test done 😂 then I waltzed back and said don't need that appointment next week. Receptionist actually hates me now😂 this test is for blood liver function and cholesterol so nothing to do with ttc (remember the awful meds) so when the results come back from that I'll make an appointment with a doctor I know is sympathetic xx

bunnykins123 · 24/11/2022 17:46

@MrsCristianoX I second what @FfayeN says about registering the chemicals / miscarriages. It's important to get answers and it's expensive to do it privately even if it is just basic tests. Good for you for standing your ground today 👏

@FfayeN oh that's brilliant news! When's your 1st consultation? So for me at the moment, I just take hydroxy twice a day and then I think at bfp start on pred. That's seems to be the general sense from other women with Dr S at the NHS clinic. The treatment of different if you go privately with him though so you can expect to be on pred and intripids but don't think he gives out hydroxy unless your a complex case. Had a melt down last night, full blown tears during I'm A Celeb. It really is all getting a bit too much now 😢

@TheBirdintheCave really glad everything is going well and the tests are nice and dark!

@lovenaps sadly, I do I have high NK cells. And like most of the women who also have them, feel really hard done by the fact that my immune system is too bloody good 😂 I hear what you're saying but after 3 losses all at the same time, I really believe there is something in it. My consultant did tell me that some don't believe in it, some do but they see success with treatment so I do believe there is more to it. I'm also with the NHS so feel like if it was all conjecture they wouldn't be testing for it or offering treatment. There is also a group on here with women having good success on Dr S's treatment plan so again that gives me faith in immunology treatment. I think at this point, you have to have faith with the 'believers' otherwise you will completely loose the plot (believe me I've nearly been there!!)

FfayeN · 24/11/2022 17:54

@MrsCristianoX oh wow, well done you for getting it done today! Sometimes we do have to fight don't we!!

@bunnykins123 yeah only reason I ask is I think the private place he wants you to have pred every month from ovulation, that just seems turmoil on the body. Just reviewing my options with testing etc. (I can go to Tommy's at Coventry and it's a lot cheaper, BUT it'll take 3 months for the biopsy's and results 🤦🏼‍♀️). How have you felt on the hydroxy? I feel ya lady, it's all too much. We are bloomin' powerhouses to keep going through it all 💪🏼. I'm like you, each time I miscarry my thyroid issue gets worse...it cannot be coincidence which is why I think it's probably a combination of that and sperm/eggs that are getting on in age a bit! Xxx

OP posts:
bunnykins123 · 24/11/2022 19:11

@FfayeN that's right. I also don't think you get a choice ie. You're either on his protocol in it's entirety or not at all (that's what I read when women pushed back on intralipids) absolutely fine! They say it can cause eye issues and sometimes I think they may get a blurry but I can't also be sure if that's just my bad eyesight! So we chose ivf over going to his clinic. My reasoning for this is that I feel that age is probably playing a part here too and if his protocol doesn't work, then I will then have to decide if I can afford to go with ivf (which on top of Dr S costs will probably not be realistic). It's a though call - I've been debating this since the summer and think I've only just come to the decision it's ivf with immunology now. Although I absolutely do not want ivf, it makes me so sad to think I'm at that place now 😢

FfayeN · 24/11/2022 19:19

@bunnykins123 we are so similar! When I spoke to his private clinic the receptionist did say we can have our test results and discuss a plan and then walk away. The IVF place we're looking at does offer intralipids and pred but not the testing so I am thinking we get the results and take them to our clinic, hopefully based on that they will prescribe the meds rather than the £1000's per month from him. I could try it without the tests, but I also do want to know what's going on aswell, it means parting with upto £3k for the quick privilege though. I know how you're feeling, but if IVF gets us there it'll be worth it 🙏🏼. I had in my mind I didn't want a Jan/Feb baby either, as my DSDs are around then and it's a really stressful busy time, but that means timing wise it's got to be quick...or gonna be a few months wait. The whole thing is very conflicting mentally xx

Hey lovelies I've had a mad day not long to wait to ring for results though. this mornings IC was lighter than 2 days ago so I think I know the answer. @FfayeN I'm glad they've got you booked in for tomorrow it's horrible having to think about waiting about for it ❤️

@MrsCristianoX good for you for standing your ground 💪🏼

MrsCristianoX · 24/11/2022 19:44

@mummatara it's not like she even checked with the nurse. 'Computer says no' 😂 let us know the results..it's mad that it gets higher before lower🙄 hcg has its own rules

MrsCristianoX · 24/11/2022 19:48

I've absolutely no cramps. Two weeks of mad pain that just vanishes 2 days into AF. I almost feel like a normal person 🤷‍♀️ and I like it.

FfayeN · 24/11/2022 19:54

@mummatara so glad you've only a little while to wait. I hope you have some conclusive results 😘 xx
