@NSx @allgoodthings84
Well we had our serious conversation yesterday evening and all is good. He understands that to have the life and family with me, then he needs to accept that being SE just doesn't work. Luckily the meeting with the mortgage broker this morning also helped, as he agreed it would make things much easier/better in terms of how much we can borrow and affordability. Plus what the mortgage broker was suggesting in terms of our purchase price is better than I was expecting, so that's also a positive.

Also my partner's appointment with the GP at his new surgery went great, she said she can't see any reason he'd have an issue fathering children, as he's physically very fit, quite smoking three years ago etc, and his last sperm analysis was fine, but just to be sure she's referred him for another sperm analysis, so he just needs to wait for his appointment letter.

I feel like we're much more on the same page now, so I'm happy to go ahead with my private fertility consultation/scan/AMH blood test next Friday.

My period is just coming to the end (stupid long drawn out one this cycle πŸ™„), so will start dtd properly on Monday I think, as that will be cd8, so as I ovulated on cd11 last cycle we need to be quicker off the mark this time!
How are you getting on with your new fitbit @allgoodthings84 I can't cope with anything roundmy wrists at all, not even my sleeves πŸ˜…

Hope dinner was good @NSx ? We've been house renovating all day, so totally knackered, so I just ordered us a Chinese!

LucyFraser1981 · 01/10/2022 21:28

Sorry AF arrived @fsr111 πŸ˜”

pomdownunder1 · 02/10/2022 00:04

Thanks @allgoodthings84 😊 where abouts are you on your journey? We are currently trying for our first.

Has anyone been to see a naturopath? I'm booked in, in a couple of weeks🀞🏻

NSx · 02/10/2022 09:54

@LucyFraser1981 im so happy that you got the outcome you were hoping for with your partner, I know how much you want a baby πŸ’•
hopefully with your tests getting done you’re onto your way to a BFP 🀍
my dinner was great, had a few drinks though and my head hurts a bit πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… I’ve not been drinking much as of late so I’m not used to it.
to top it all off, I went to the gym with my fiancΓ© yesterday and now my body is in agony πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ HELP πŸ†˜πŸ˜…πŸ˜…
im on cd5 today so last day of AF too, last month I ovulated cd15 so I think I should probably start testing around cd10 😎

@pomdownunder1 welcome 🀍 I’m not even sure what a naturopath can do, could you explain pls?
And this is also ttc my first baby after losing my girl at 17.5weeks at the end of May πŸ’• how are u finding it all?

@allgoodthings84 how you doing today, how u getting on with the new watch 😍😍 have u got a busy day planned with family today?

@fsr111 how are u doing? It’s nice to see you back here although ofcourse I wish you had your BFP and didn’t have to go through another month of this nonsense - people do say u get your BFP when you least expect it.

What’s everyone’s approach this cycle? Are you all DTD exactly as per SMEP?

LucyFraser1981 · 02/10/2022 10:06

@NSx I'm a massive lightweight myself, and haven't drunk anything for the past few months, so I reckon I'd be totally sozzled after only two drinks πŸ˜…
I did a whole day decorating yesterday, and because I'm only 5'2" my shoulders neck and back are so achey, why do walls have to be so high?! πŸ˜–πŸ€£
So we're a pair of achey things today, albeit only one of us is hungover... 😁

It is really good to know that we're on track now to the life we want, I know it's hard for him, as he explained that for the past 20 years his being SE has been like the only constant thing for him, it even saw him through his breakdown after his ex-wife cheated etc and he basically lost everything. So I get it, but I've tried to show him (and even the mortgage broker helped) that the way it stands, his being SE just doesn't allow us the future we want. So feeling much more positive now.

Started my opk/CB digital testing today (cd7) as I'm determined not to get caught out like last cycle! No idea if I'll ovulate early again this cycle, so we'll be starting to dtd probably from this evening, then Tuesday onwards really and all over the weekend πŸ˜…

pomdownunder1 · 02/10/2022 10:56

So sorry to hear that @NSx. I hope you're ok πŸ’•

I'm not entirely sure about a Naturopathy! But will update after my appointment. From what I've read they'll take bloods, find out more about your lifestyle and recommend nutritional supplements tailored to you. Two friends of mine recommended it after they were trying for a year. They swore that was the reason they both got pregnant the month after going, so thought there was no harm trying.

Currently on cd10 and so far have stuck to the plan! How's everyone else doing?

allgoodthings84 · 02/10/2022 11:24

@NSx I’m loving my new watch. It has a lot of features in it etc. I don’t think I’ve ovulated though this cycle. I had a proper rise and fall of OPKs and CM etc but it doesn’t feel like I’ve ovulated and it usually does and my RHR hasn’t risen at all. I guess I’ll just get the blood test done this week then see when AF arrives to see if I had the test on the right day or not. I’ve never had it in last 5 years where my RHR doesn’t rise after ovulation though so doesn’t look good

NSx · 02/10/2022 14:28

@LucyFraser1981 oooh I hate painting πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I did my hall and decided never to do it again & hire someone instead πŸ˜‚ ..
i think I drank 3 glasses of Prosecco and 3 cocktails but it’s the mixing of the drinks that has gotten me πŸ˜‚
OH and I just went and grabbed some lunch & I feel better for it now, got a nice afternoon of lazing on the couch today tho which is good.
sounds like your OH hasn’t had an easy time of it, bless him! Yes being SE is much harder to prove that you will be able to afford your home. I remember when we were dealing with the mortgage advisor etc last year it was all quite overwhelming - we got there in the end & I’m in my beautiful new home 🏑 so you too will get there I have my fx for you with that.
im also glad you guys decided to continue ttc as I could tell by your posts how important having a baby together is πŸ’•β€οΈ keep me posted on when you get your static smiley πŸ˜„
@pomdownunder1 im ok but thanks for asking, I just take each day as it comes πŸ’•
is this private? Or through the nhs? I’m intrigued to know what your outcome is!
good luck with SMEP its heavy going πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… πŸ† πŸ’¦
@allgoodthings84 could it just be a glitch with the watch - did u switch before ovulation ? or could it still be happening? Which day are u on now?

allgoodthings84 · 02/10/2022 17:01

@NSx i had positive OPKs Wednesday and had normal CM which changed late Thursday (day of predicted ovulation) then no more EWCM Friday onwards. I chanted my watch Friday night so after predicted ovulation. I have CM and positive OPKs with a rise and fall (it’s low now like 0.11 like before it starts to rise). If my AF comes 13dpo as always then I know it all suggests I do ovulate along with the other things. Maybe I’m putting too much thought into my RHR it’s just because it’s done the same thing every cycle for last 5 years until 3 weeks ago. My RHR went up a bit a few days before ovulation as normal but then didn’t rise again at after ovulation. I guess the blood test will tell me more and I’ll know if AF arrives when expected if I did the test at the rightish time.

I’m just feeling mega down about it all. I won’t give up and will keep trying but I’m not hopeful anymore.

allgoodthings84 · 02/10/2022 17:05

@LucyFraser1981 I’m so glad you’ve sorted things out and can crack on 😊

@NSx I hope you’re feeling a bit more normal now after your fun last night. Love cocktails!

allgoodthings84 · 02/10/2022 17:16

@LucyFraser1981 I’m really short too and a lot of jobs are hard going πŸ˜‚

@NSx just did my opk and it’s very negative but when I wiped I got a small glob of really creamy CM like lotion so definitely like after ovulation CM. It’s all so weird. Maybe I’ve had an anovulation cycle. I know I need to wait for my blood test and then AF to get a proper answer πŸ˜‚

NSx · 02/10/2022 18:36

@allgoodthings84 ive tried to track my RHR but honestly it doesn’t have much of a pattern πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ honestly I wouldn’t look into it too much.
if u have anovulation would u still have a regular period? i thought if no egg then no period ? Bbt does help me track things more successfully than RHR πŸ˜…
its all so confusing tbh/stressful…
I love cocktails too but my head has been sore today and I had to go for a nap with my cat on the couch earlier πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
got an m&s steak pie for tea and honestly I can’t be bothered πŸ˜‚ my OH is an eater but so he will want fed πŸ˜…

allgoodthings84 · 02/10/2022 19:02

@NSx to be honest I’m not sure how anovulation works etc. I have the signs of ovulation with opk’s and CM etc I’m just scared as my RHR has always been a certain way and now it’s just not. It’s just suddenly changed. Euugghh it’s just annoying. If my AF arrives when expected then I know my blood test would have been 6dpo so should be accurate enough so see what those results will actually be. This is all stressing me out so much but it’s not raising my RHR either.

allgoodthings84 · 02/10/2022 19:05

@NSx ooo I love M&S food! We had a Tesco β€œtakeaway pizza” and garlic bread but my partner cooked it πŸ˜‚. I haven’t drank in over a year so think one drink will bring me over the edge πŸ˜‚. I hope you get to relax tonight

I try to keep my general chat posts separate so the whingy ones can be ignored πŸ˜‚

NSx · 02/10/2022 19:38

@allgoodthings84 we got a chicken pasta bake and garlic bread too which we’ve now decided to have instead from m&s as neither of us can be bothered making the roasties πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
doesn’t help that I went to the gym and now am walking like a 50 year old woman πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ …
i don’t drink during 2WW but will have occasional drinks on the wkend - I feel like I can’t stop my life for ttc Incase it doesn’t happen πŸ€”
tbh I would be surprised if u haven’t ovulated I think you just expect the worst don’t u, I was the same felt like I wasn’t ovulating convinced myself as such and then got the bloods and it said I did πŸ˜‚ it’s probably all in our heads πŸ˜…

allgoodthings84 · 02/10/2022 19:52

@NSx i haven’t been drinking for a long time as I usually have my daughter and I won’t drink when I have her as I’m such a lightweight want my wits about me and need to be able to drive just in case the way the ambulance service is these days. I don’t even miss it anymore but would like a couple of cocktails on my birthday. I used to drink a lot until I had my daughter. I was drinking a lot up until I was nearly 7 weeks as didn’t know I was pregnant and wasn’t ttc. Only drinking when going out but went out a lot. I haven't been much of a drinker since and just don’t bother now. I have a nasty Diet Coke/Pepsi max habit though. I’ve cut it down to one or two a day now as can’t give it up completely unless I had to ha ha.

yep we all seem to think the worst. I guess it’s because we want it so much and it’s not happening so think it must be us. I really hope we all start getting bfp soon for our own sanity πŸ˜‚. I’m going to shut up about it now until I get my test results and AF as I must be depressing everyone here going on about it. Just got no one to talk to about it in real life as we aren’t telling anyone we are ttc and my partner doesn’t understand

allgoodthings84 · 02/10/2022 19:53

@NSx i love a good pasta bake! Especially the chicken ones. I have food envy πŸ˜‚

strawberryandcreams · 04/10/2022 10:25

Hi guys, can I join.
TTC number 3 after 6 year gap.
Onto month 9 now..... feeling like it will never happen to be honest!
Want to try the SMEP this month

pomdownunder1 · 04/10/2022 10:39

@NSx haha thanks. It's private but I'm living in Australia, so maybe it's more of an Aussie thing?

Welcome @strawberryandcreams πŸ’• my first month doing smep as well!

How's everyone doing this month?

allgoodthings84 · 04/10/2022 13:01

Hi @strawberryandcreams welcome to the group. What cycle day are you on now? I hope this is a lucky cycle for you

@pomdownunder1 ticking along here. I’ve got my 21 day blood test in the morning. I hope things are good for you?

strawberryandcreams · 04/10/2022 13:42

Period due tomorrow. So hopefully it will be CD1 and we go again πŸ˜ƒ

All new territory for me as fell first month with both previous pregnancies.

It's given me a good health kick though. Fingers crossed for us all!

LucyFraser1981 · 04/10/2022 16:59

Bonking commences this evening! CD9 today, still nothing on my clearblue digital, but I'm determined not to get caught out this cycle by a sneaky early egg release, so you can probably guarantee that it'll take it's sweet time this cycle instead... πŸ™„πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ˜…
Got fertility consultation/scan/AMH blood test on Friday, and day 21 on Monday, so keep fingers crossed please!
Partner was also given the green light for sperm analysis, so os just waiting for his appointment. Not much else we can do now. Looking forward to DTD later, but crikey I already can't stop yawning! πŸ₯±πŸ˜΄
How are y'all doing? πŸ’—

LucyFraser1981 · 05/10/2022 07:50

Whoop whoop! Flashing smiley! Didn't get caught out this cycle with a sneaky ninja egg... 🀣

allgoodthings84 · 05/10/2022 08:36

@strawberryandcreams i got pregnant very easily first time too. Wasn’t ttc just a not very carefully dtd and we only dtd once a week if that! This time I’m 8 years older and I’m on cycle 5 now and it’s not happening

@LucyFraser1981 phew that you started earlier this cycle! They do like to surprise us. I rarely get a 24 day cycle then after my long covid one bam I got 2 in a row! Back to 26 days (expected from when I got peak opk’s) this cycle though

I’m now in the waiting room to have my 21 day blood test. I’m so so nervous and scared. Not if the test itself needles etc don’t bother me but if the results. How long do results generally take does anyone know? I can get my results on my nhs app so if it’s bad news I don’t need to be told by a receptionist. I can process it before talking to anyone

pomdownunder1 · 05/10/2022 09:00

Good luck @allgoodthings84. I hope you get some answers and it doesn't take too long 🀞🏻

Question on opks, does everyone stick to testing in the afternoon, after 4 hours between toilet trips? Probably far too early for me anyway atm but struggle to wait that long before toilet trips!!
