Hi all 👋
AF has been a killer again this month, glad it's nearly gone, just a bit of spotting this morning. I'm CD6 now. Really feeling like I don't have the energy for DTD and OPKs and getting my hopes up again but hopefully my hormones will give me a boost the next few days.

Sending you all baby dust 💓 hopefully this cycle is the one for us still trying

Welshgal85 · 12/09/2022 14:01

@Houseelf90 will it show up yet though? I thought 10 days before AF would be too early to test? We DTD 9 days ago though, haven’t since as tests were negative so didn’t look like I was ovulating

Houseelf90 · 12/09/2022 14:16

@Welshgal85 when did you start testing with OPKs? If you ovulated before testing then that’s at least 9dpo (based on your last comment) and in that case I think it would show up soon?

missmoosh · 12/09/2022 14:18

@Welshgal85 I haven't had my usual PMS symptoms other than mood swings. But have been having a kind of stabbing pain on and off in right lower abdomen for about a week and a heavy feeling in my tummy. Slight bit of nausea and dizziness but that's only every couple days. Just want to know either way now lol

WingingIt09 · 12/09/2022 14:37

Hi ladies, sorry been a bit quiet recently. Nausea has hit full force and I've been feeling pretty rough! Had my appointment with EPU this morning and everything is looking good so far. Confirmed I'm measuring 6 weeks and I got to see a heartbeat on the scan 🥰

@LucyLoopyLu sorry to hear you're not feeling it. As you said hopefully hormones will give you the boost you need.

@WingingIt09 yay! So happy for you! That must be such a relief xx

CD8 today into cycle #6. DH has a semen analysis for early next next month, the follow-up consultation is a month yesterday. I could well be enrolled on my first round of IVF by November, so a lovely (depends on how you look at it) birthday present, potentially.

Houseelf90 · 12/09/2022 15:02

@WingingIt09 that’s amazing! That must have been such a lovely feeling and a relief after what you’ve been through!

That's fantastic and so lovely to hear ♥️

DesertSnow · 12/09/2022 15:29

@SarahShorty I'm so sorry you've been having such a difficult time. Hope things are ok with your DH (and manager also), or are at least on their way to being ok. Sounds like you have some sensible plans in place, but hoping you get a BFP and won't need any assistance!

@Welshgal85 If you ovulated early, I would have definitely thought you could take a test in the next couple of days. Fingers crossed! Have heard of pregnant ladies getting positive OPK readings, so that could be a possibility. Not sure about the discharge. I think I'd keep DTD every other day, and keep OPK testing. And maybe do an FRER soon!

@BethSuz27 Hello, welcome! Have you tested again?

Welcome also to @AnnaS94 - so sorry to hear about your MMC. Fingers crossed you get a BFP soon! Will this be your first?

Brilliant news @Jade57, congrats!

@PinkButtercups That must have been scary, glad all ok!

@Mortima Sorry about AF. I wouldn't worry about 11 day too much, especially if you're usually 12. I've been looking at luteal phases as mine is short (7 days last month) and general consensus seems to be 10 + is ok.

Welcome @Smophette, good luck!

Hope AF doesn't show up @missmoosh.

Hope your hormones kick in and energise you for the new cycle @LucyLoopyLu.

That's great to hear @WingingIt09, you must be so relieved!

We've officially started trying, as of yesterday. Not expecting much from cycle 1, and wedding planning is keeping me busy so a good distraction!

Dreamingof3 · 12/09/2022 15:39

@WingingIt09 that's fab news, I'm so happy they did a scan. 🌈

BethSuz27 · 12/09/2022 15:50

@DesertSnow no!! Trying to stop myself, tempted too tomorrow but don’t want to disappoint myself so trying to wait until AF is hopefully late!

WingingIt09 · 12/09/2022 17:14

Thanks everyone, such a relief. Next appointment is at 9 weeks so I'll get to see baby again then ❤️ now to somehow manage to function over the next few weeks as I feel like crap

@WingingIt09 that's amazing I'm so delighted for u!!! Can I ask did they need to do an internal for you to see the heartbeat? I'm booked for a scan at 6 weeks but I really don't want an internal

WingingIt09 · 12/09/2022 17:20

@Jade57 yes they didn't even attempt abdominal, just said that as I'm so early they'd like to do a transvaginal ultrasound. I'm not sure they'd have seen it with an abdominal as it wasn't that clear a picture. I've had transvaginal ultrasounds before in previous pregnancies so for me that wasn't a problem.

Jade57 · 12/09/2022 17:25

@WingingIt09 thanks. When I booked they said it would be abdominal and only internal if needed. She asked my bmi and stuff and said they will see how it goes. I had an abdominal scan with my daughter at 7 weeks and was able to see the heartbeat so fingers crossed! I'm so glad you for that reassurance today, I'm sure your on top of the world

SarahShorty · 12/09/2022 17:31

@DesertSnow thank you xx DH and I are okay. We've agreed to only talk about in a positive way. Instead of "This is so unfair!" we say "Hopefully this is the one." or "We'll get there, no matter what." We were both getting so frustrated and got so jealous of other people with kids and pregnant women walking around. It just sucked. A change of perspective is much needed otherwise we'll never succeed.

missmoosh · 12/09/2022 17:48

@DesertSnow thank you! I have some clearblue digital tests to try tomorrow morning. Looking at reviews for easy@home tests which I have, they aren't the most reliable. Hopefully by now a clearblue will give me a solid yay or nay 😂

missmoosh · 12/09/2022 17:49

@WingingIt09 also congratulations, how exciting hearing the heartbeat! Must have been amazing!

WingingIt09 · 12/09/2022 17:50

@missmoosh couldn't hear it yet, but did get to see it flickering on the screen

That's still very cool! When's you next scan??

Bananatoast123 · 12/09/2022 20:01

Testing tomorrow morning, not feeling hopeful but rather know and manage my emotions. Cycles 6 onwards feel more difficult, keep trying to tell myself we are one month closer. OH feels the same which is nice that I’m not alone!

A work colleague let on his wife and him were ttc earlier this year and I felt he gave a look that I see in my OH now 7 months on. He announced they were expecting on a call and I was so so happy for him, I had such feelings of joy and could see how delighted he was. But then later felt frustrated we aren’t closer to sharing the same joy! I don’t want to feel like that and I know it’ll come!

Daisy155 · 12/09/2022 20:55

Hi all I hope everyone is well I would like to join! We have started TTC again and I want to follow others journey! Wishing you all the best of luck ❤

SarahShorty · 12/09/2022 21:20

@Bananatoast123 it's rough sometimes, isn't it?

I've got a fake call app on my phone. It's very handy if you're selectively social like me 😄If someone in a meeting mentions someone is pregnant or if they themselves announce they're expecting, I just say I have a call I need to take and I'm free to disappear for a while and decompress.

The only faith there is really is the very thing that gets under the skin; people getting pregnant. Barring any big issues, it's possible to get pregnant, and in contrast, that's the easy part, the real challenge that you have no control over is praying that no nasty mutations occur which cause the embryo to stop growing.

When you think about it, the embryo can stop growing any time between fertilisation and implantation, so if AF comes bang on time, you may have actually had a fertilised egg in there still. This is why scientists reckon that 50% of all conceptions end in miscarriage which is more than previously thought.

If I went for IVF, I can still miscarry, as IVF only provides something of a taxi service to the fertilised egg to the uterine lining. It cannot prevent mutations. With this in mind, a woman can only have so many miscarriages before either something sticks or a problem is discovered.

@Daisy155 welcome aboard and thank you! You're more than welcome to join xx And good luck with your journey!

Bananatoast123 · 12/09/2022 22:49

@SarahShorty that is a very clever tactic I might try that! I didn’t feel the gutted feelings until much later as I knew they’d be trying for longer but still hits you!

it’s madness isn’t it! How difficult it is and how low the % is in your favour!

Right now my head is to just get pregnant and then tackle the next worries after! As right now my concern is 8 months nearly and no where near a + test! It would be nice to know we can fertilise and start to implant!

But it’s true we may have had multiple fertilised eggs who didn’t make it further than that to implantation and never knew!

I don’t know why cycles 6 onwards have gotten harder, maybe it’s because I feel we are becoming behind the curve and closer to the 12 month mark!

Anna531 · 12/09/2022 23:56

Good luck tomorrow morning @Bananatoast123 hoping and wishing for a BFP x
