@SarahShorty hope you’re ok! It’s good you’ve got a plan and know what’s your next steps! Take each day as it comes! I keep seeing announcements on social and I do get a little like frustrated! But I’m trying to tell myself how you don’t know how long they were trying for! My OH cousin said tonight it took them 3 years and 2 miscarriages which reassured me that we weren’t at that point yet! I thought she must be a strong woman!

it’s been 8 months for us and I thought we are cycle 8 but I looked back and I remember we didn’t manage to ttc one cycle so I’m now classing this one as cycle 7!

I’m 4dpo! Felt crappy/unwell at 2dpo and I just hope it’s not ruined our chances!

LucyLoopyLu · 09/10/2022 19:19

@SarahShorty totally get what you mean. I am just on CD3 of cycle 7 but mine have been between 27-32 days. Must admit I like the shorter cycles at the moment, at least it gets the waiting over with. It must be really hard with longer cycles.

Wish me luck everyone, I'm going to ring the fertility clinic tomorrow to see about booking us in for tests. Feel horribly nervous.

Bananatoast123 · 09/10/2022 21:20

@LucyLoopyLu good luck! You’re being proactive and that’s a good thing! Think of it that only good can come from it! You’ll either find out you’re all healthy and it’s down to chance or that you’re going to get answers and help xx

TulipVictory · 10/10/2022 10:00

Those of you who track your cycles, do you find you get lots of EWCM when you are ovulating or do you ovulate once the EWCM has stopped?

I have had a lot of EWCM over the last three days but have not dtd 😬

SarahShorty · 10/10/2022 10:14

@Bananatoast123 I'm doing okay, thanks xx I hope you are likewise. Fingers crossed for you.

@LucyLoopyLu Good luck! Even if they find nothing wrong, that piece of mind that everything is okay is well worth the money.

12DPO today. I remember in the two CPs I had, I had a tugging/pulling sensation down there. I haven't had that this time, so I'm waiting for cycle #7 to show up. We'll find out the results of DH's test tomorrow. Good or bad news, I want to know so we can plan.

SarahShorty · 10/10/2022 10:22

peace of mind*

DesertSnow · 10/10/2022 12:08

@PinkButtercups holiday was lovely, and managed to not think about TTC for a bit which I think was good for my headspace - but yes the GP text freaked me out for a good part of it!

@SarahShorty hoping all well with your partner's tests. As you say, knowledge is power so hope you'll be able to plan off the back of it. Wouldn't count yourself as out just because you haven't had similar symptoms to when you conceived before - I'm sure there was a flurry of BFPs on here a while back where ladies had no symptoms at all. But then I guess it's easier not to get hopes up... When is AF due? Best of luck.

@LucyLoopyLu Good luck with the clinic call! Great you're being proactive though I'm sure it's daunting. Hope it goes well.

@TulipVictory I'm not sure on the EWCM question sorry - I find it really hard to tell the difference between the different types of CM! Perhaps someone else here will know.

I had my final wedding dress fitting yesterday and the seamstress asked if I was ovulating soon because of my boobs... Perhaps I should add a column in my symptom tracker for seamstress' suggestions 😂(She's not wrong, I'm due to ovulate later this week hopefully). Seems like which part of my cycle I'm at on the big day might affect how the dress fits a bit... it's 3 weeks away now but with my cycles being a tad erratic, I can't tell yet!

SarahShorty · 10/10/2022 13:13

@DesertSnow hey lovely xx Glad you had a nice break. AF will show her ugly face either Wednesday or Thursday. It'll be a nice surprise if she stays away, but I'm not hopeful.

BethSuz27 · 10/10/2022 16:45

Finally got my high (1.1) on my ovulation test, CD14, after days of it sitting around the same and then it seeming to go up and back down! Gonna test again this evening so I don’t miss it going any higher! But super happy ovulation is finally happening!

does anyone usually get any signs of ovulation?

hope everyone is doing well and I would love to know where abouts people are on their cycles!

LucyLoopyLu · 11/10/2022 10:55

Hi all
Thanks for the support yday, I appreciated it as I am so rubbish with doctors and medical things.

Spoke to the clinic and it is £425 for a sperm analysis for OH, blood test for me checking AMH, and an internal ultrasound to check for cysts, fibroid, polyps and check everything looks good. Then a 30 minute appointment where they go through the results with you.

I think we are going to try to book - seems to be about a 2 week wait which is not bad, but I need to call back to book the appointment and pay.

I don't think £425 seems too bad expense wise, either for reassurance to carry on trying for a while longer or to see if there is something amiss. Obv I know wouldn't be affordable for everyone - but as I said to my OH, I spent over £200 at the dentist this year getting a filling replaced and didn't think anything of it.

SarahShorty · 11/10/2022 14:59

@LucyLoopyLu that's great news! That's also good pricing. What you're looking at is a fertility MOT with the purpose of giving you an all-round look at things to make sure there are no obvious problems. Well worth the money imo.

DH and I had the follow-up consultation for his semen analysis and while his count is indeed low, it's not a concern. Motility and morphology are both good and the amount of semen produced is good. Made-to-order samples will always show lower numbers of everything due to the lack of arousal at the time, so the clinic is generally happy with what they saw. The plan now is to continue trying into next year and if we're still having chemicals or not getting pregnant at all, then we'll consider IVF as the chances of IVF success drop slightly from the age of 36.

LucyLoopyLu · 11/10/2022 15:54

@SarahShorty great news about the sperm analysis results, must be a weight off your mind and his!

I have booked our appointment for the 31st and we will get results on 9th Nov so I am now just trying to get my head round that.

I feel a little relieved and happy to have got over the hurdle of deciding. I just need to get my head in the game for the blood test and hope it's not too awful on the day. I told the lady who booked us in that I have a needle phobia so she has booked me a double slot for the blood test and will put it on my notes so they know to expect me to be a mess on the day. I'm hoping as I can lie down I will be OK but I will be relieved when it's over!

Cheesecake93 · 11/10/2022 22:43

Hi ladies.
Hoping I can join in on this thread. I have been ttc for 13 months now. I recently had a private ultrasound and AMH blood test as I got fed up waiting for my first NHS appt. @I have mild endometriosis and they now want me to have a hycosy. Has anyone had one of these? I have heard lots of horror stories 😶

HeathenPlayingHouse · 12/10/2022 09:32

Morning all 😊

CD8 for me and I've avoided Clomid this cycle- I think it somehow prolonged the last one.

The plan this month is to copy as much of the routine as we had the month of conceiving DS, so it'll be SMEP, nearly all the same supplements, Guafenesin, Preseed and I'm going to start drinking my spearmint tea again.

Outside of TTC, I'm trying to practice more self care. It's just baby steps (pardon the pun), but I'm feeling pretty good.

Hope everyone is well, baby dust to you all ❤️

Bananatoast123 · 12/10/2022 09:42

Morning all!

7/8dpo for me! No signs of anything successful! I’ve got the gut feeling we won’t have a BFP again and it’s an awful feeling now we are 8 months in!

I’m not sure why I’m feeling so pessimistic all of a sudden!

I hope everyone’s okay ❤️

Dreamingof3 · 12/10/2022 10:07

Morning ladies ❣️

Bit of a random one....took the dog for a walk and she disturbed a wasps nest...rescued her and ended up being stung twice myself....First time since I was probably about 8! Hurts a lot more than I would've thought and now feeling really sorry for myself 😭

SarahShorty · 12/10/2022 10:43

Morning everyone xx

CD14 today. BBT in the ground, feeling crampy and sleepy, I imagine the other 5 dwarfs will be arriving shortly. Cycle #7 is coming in hot.

SarahShorty · 12/10/2022 10:43

CD14?! 14DPO more like. My brain is frazzled.

Anna531 · 12/10/2022 10:51

Morning ladies, 7dpo for me today. Only our 2nd month TTC so I know it could be a long journey ahead however I'm in my mid thirties so I'm hoping not too long! Last month I really symptom spotted and was devastated when AF arrived and I realised it was PMS symptoms I'd never taken the time to notice before. No symptoms at all so far this cycle I feel completely normal not even PMS symptoms so I'm not very confident but it's been a much better month. We took a laid back more enjoyable approach to DTD and I'm a week into TTW and I'm not itching to test or overthinking it. I couldn't take the heartbreak of last month on repeat so this approach is working much better for me. Works crazy busy too which helps as a distraction. DPs away on work our next two ovulation dates so if not this month I'll park it until the new year and enjoy Christmas.

Hi @Bananatoast123 👋🏼 It's hard not to feel pessimistic but I really hope this is the month for you! Fingers crossed!

@LucyLoopyLu great to hear you've decided and it's booked. It'll help either way in giving you confidence and plan going forward. I'm sure waiting for it to happen and the results is daunting but it's quite quick which is great and you'll not be wondering the next few months and waiting until after Christmas.

@SarahShorty great news about the sperm analysis. I really hope AF doesn't show up today or tomorrow!

@Dreamingof3 that's awful!! Fair play though rescuing your dog! Some TLC is in order and absolutely I'd be feeling sorry for myself too!

Hope everyone's keeping well and sane x

Bananatoast123 · 12/10/2022 12:26

@Anna531 cycle buddies again ✌🏼 I know what you mean, it’s so easy to cycle spot but I have realised 8 months in none of my cycles are the same! I’m going to try not test until Im late this time!

I hope we both get out BFP together this cycle!

Anna531 · 12/10/2022 14:54

You're so right @Bananatoast123 so I'm just going with the flow this month. Had a wee glass of wine last night because I was perfect last month and life's too short! Just the one though!

Not planning to test until next Wednesday when AFs due if she hasn't appeared when I get up.
Hopefully this time next week we're both celebrating!! 🧚‍♂️ ✨️

Bananatoast123 · 12/10/2022 15:21

@Anna531 if it helps, I’ve done months with drinking and without and I’m still here now ttc! So treat yourself now and again! My doctor actually told me 14 units a week is what they advise and that much shouldn’t have an impact!

ahhh I’m due on Wednesday so we may be testing at the same time! 🧚✨ fingers crossed for us!!!

SarahShorty · 12/10/2022 18:02

AF has arrived. Onto cycle #7. Was going to treat myself to some cute little booties I found, but they've got stuck in transit and Royal Mail are going on strike tomorrow. Just shit.

SarahShorty · 12/10/2022 18:06

Oh, haha, not just stuck, they've been lost! I'll get a refund.

Bananatoast123 · 12/10/2022 19:32

@SarahShorty so sorry AF has turned up and that your boots have gotten lost! Can you treat yourself to something edible tonight or a nice glass of wine? look after yourself xx
