@DanisEndo it's tricky knowing when to test when you're irregular, isn't it? Maybe if I was you I'd test about half way through the range you gave, or if I was getting very strong symptoms I might test sooner. Good luck!

@Bananatoast123 Really sorry AF arrived after teasing you. Hope you're ok and being nice to yourself. We're here if you want to rant, or if you need to step away we'll be here when you're ready. Sending hugs.

Welcome @ScarletDreams good luck to you!

@PinkButtercups Gosh you must be counting down the days!

Hope everyone is well. I'm either 5DPO or 6DPO, praying my luteal phase is longer than 7 days this month.

DanisEndo · 21/09/2022 11:16

@DesertSnow it really is!!! I agreed I’d wait till this weekend with my partner which will put me on the 40day mark… I had a few pelvic cramps yesterday which seem to have mostly gone now and have felt sooooo tearful (boobs still sore as well) so have been trying not to get excited as it’s so unlikely but all the “what if😍” keeps getting me excited. No sign of AF yet so 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

LucyLoopyLu · 21/09/2022 12:08

Hi everyone. Just wanted to check in.

I found the last two cycles tough so I am trying to take it a bit easier but can feel the hope starting again.
Think I'm on for a longer cycle this time, first high OPK today on CD15 so I think I am about 2/3 days later than last cycle. Hoping to hit DTD on CD13 (✅️), 15, 17 and maybe another one for luck. Using preseed again.

Hoping for lucky cycle 6 🤞

Jennifer89 · 21/09/2022 12:16

@LucyLoopyLu good luck! 😊

SarahShorty · 21/09/2022 12:27

@LucyLoopyLu good luck! xx

I'm on CD17 today. CD15 and 16 were high LH, so we've DTD'd those evenings so far, will DTD right up until the day after and including ovulation. I estimate my LH peak will probably be tomorrow if not tonight. I always go into it with excitement and let's face it, sex is fun, even if we're not lucky, we can't get enough of each other 😄

ScarletDreams · 21/09/2022 17:29

SarahShorty · 20/09/2022 18:51

@ScarletDreams of course you can! xx Hello and welcome!

With regards to TTC, it's different for everyone. Couples are different, circumstances are different etc I'm on cycle #6 and because my cycles are between 32 and 35 days in length, technically this is month #8 for me.

DH and I prayed that it wouldn't take 6 months, yet here we are! And that's on top of knowing that his parents conceived both of their children in 2 cycles both times and never miscarried (as far as we know and bearing in mind this was back in the 80s)! Saying that, I have been pregnant twice in the last 8 months and sadly miscarried both very early. Some people just have better luck than others.

Try to relax (that phrase pissed me off aswell at the beginning) and take each day as it comes. It seems to be the trial and error of figuring out what works that takes the time, as I lost 3 cycles to SMEP (Sperm Meets Egg Plan) as it doesn't work for us.

If you can, do get yourself and your partner a fertility MOT just to make sure everything is good under the hood, as it's better to discover issues early and act on them so you don't potentially end up putting yourself through misery with each passing month.

Something that helped to put it all into perspective for me was The Great Sperm Race. It is a documentary that goes into the fine details of how the woman's egg is fertilised and the journey, trials and tribulations the man's sperm face.

And finally, we're all here to support you during the highs and the lows as sometimes TTC can be all-consuming. TTC will likely be one of the most memorable journeys you'll ever take. Women get pregnant every day all over the world, so it is possible and we must remember that will all get our babies one way or another.

@SarahShorty thank you so much for such a warm welcome and also for taking the time to give me some tips and things to look in to , I will most definitely look in to them- the great sperm race sounds interesting!

I'm so sorry to hear about your 2 early losses, fingers crossed you'll get your bfp soon.

It's a strange feeling switching from trying to prevent to trying to conceive and as much as we are both ready for it, it's still a little nerve-wracking. I do need to relax in to the process instead of falling in to the trap of over thinking as I usually end up doing with things . I'm so glad I've found mumsnet as I have learnt so much already. X

BethSuz27 · 21/09/2022 20:30

CD29, period is 5-6 days late, 18dpo, had a bfn yesterday (Thought it may be very very faint but not sure), still no AF though

had several times today where I thought she had arrived and just had a lot of cm (sorry tmi) and had weird tugging like cramps that comes for 10 minutes or so and then go, not typical for me at all… and very sensitive nipples last few days

has anyone been in a similar situation?

not sure what’s going on, hopefully I just ovulated late and still awaiting a BFP… planning to test tomorrow

Bananatoast123 · 21/09/2022 22:36

Was hating life with AF arriving but had a call with my DR with follow ups after having my
bloods taken and it picked me up! She said I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been - Iron, Folate and vitamin B&D levels have doubled since 2018! She said she thinks I’ve had high cortisol due to 2 house moves and job stuff and then getting covid etc in the last year and it will explain my symptoms! She said to continue with the massages and relaxation as I can already feel like relief in what I’m doing to help! And to keep going and she suspects providing my OH is all healthy etc we’ll get there 🥳 she also reassured me that I can call back up in 4/5 months time for more help if it’s not happened! But what a relief! I feel like I can step back a little and not have to put so much emphasis on making it happen now!

@DesertSnow thank you for your kind words too about AF!

Welshgal85 · 22/09/2022 07:38

Day 33 but just got a BFN from an early response test. AF would usually have come by now but think maybe the stress is delaying things?

Dreamingof3 · 22/09/2022 07:56

Hi everyone! Just trying to catch up, sorry to those who have had af arrive or bfns.

I'm 14 weeks now, and definitely feeling baby move which is quite reassuring. Still feeling a bit sick and struggling to eat full meals. Also got my gtt next Wednesday 😭 so trying to make the most of the carbs while I can!

BethSuz27 · 22/09/2022 09:32

Not sure anyone will be able to see this because it messes up the quality, but taken this morning CD30, period is 7 days late, I’m taking it as negative but feel there might be something there?

Preparing to TTC in 2022 part 6
dearhummingbirds · 22/09/2022 11:14

@Dreamingof3 happy to hear you’re coming along nicely :) Ha. Is that a thing? To try and cut out carbs prior to your gtt to make sure you don’t get a positive?

@BethSuz27 sorry, but I can’t see anything :( but photos never seem to show things as you see them.

Dreamingof3 · 22/09/2022 11:22

@dearhummingbirds haha I don't think it is, I just fully expect you have gd again so will have to cut it all out after so making the most of it now

@BethSuz27 I can't see anything either I'm afraid. I'd assume at 7 day's late it would show up pretty well....do you know when you ovulated?

dearhummingbirds · 22/09/2022 11:26

@Dreamingof3 ahaha I see. Fingers crossed for you! Can’t even imagine having to cut them out; I’m a carb shark. Get as many chips and crisps in while you can!

SarahShorty · 22/09/2022 12:32

@ScarletDreams you're most welcome xx We're glad to have you here. If you need any support or you're not sure about something, post it here and we'll do our best to help.

PinkButtercups · 22/09/2022 16:06

@BethSuz27 I can't see anything either but that could just be the picture but if you're 7 days late I'd expect to see something stronger. Sorry :(.

Sorry to hear about the BFN's.

@Dreamingof3 eek! I had mine at 16 weeks and it came back as I have GD again. I'm on two Metformin a day and diabetic midwife I saw last Tuesday said I don't have to test at lunch time anymore so I test only 4 times a day now not 6.
I haven't really changed my diet though! 🫣

Dreamingof3 · 22/09/2022 16:20

@PinkButtercups I controlled it with diet last time so I'm hoping to do the same again as I'm aiming for a vba2c and I need as few complications as possible 😅

AnnaS94 · 22/09/2022 18:41

Cramping a lot to day so expecting AF to show tomorrow as scheduled. Month 3 of trying now which I know is early but I'm already thinking the worst. We got pregnant first time around after one drunken night which led to a MMC and a D&C after infection in March this year. I know I'm stressing myself out but I'm starting to think there's a possibility of scaring after the operation? Anyone here had a D&C and struggling to concieve?

PinkButtercups · 22/09/2022 19:51

@Dreamingof3 I had a vaginal birth with DS with no extra help (except the doctor turning him by hand as DS was back to back). I was induced but didn't need any extra help. Had him at 17:46 home the next day by 10am. I asked to be the first to go home so they put me at the top of list to see the baby doctor 🤣.

Jennifer89 · 22/09/2022 20:13

I took pregnancy test today on day period due and still negative. Just had really weird cycle this month. Had no proper period yet, just on and off spotting for a week with some cramping. Tmi but yesterday I had some spotting with clots and thought maybe it was start of period but then nothing..
Not sure if maybe it was a chemical pregnancy.
Have any of you ladies had weird cycle and symptons when starting ttc?

Daisy155 · 22/09/2022 20:34

@PinkButtercups wow 6 times I used to hate doing that test and only had to do it 4 times a day I am hoping that I won’t have it when we conceive again but apparently once you have it, you can have it again, @Jennifer89 not sure maybe it could be AF returning or could it be Implantation or something like that ? Not sure maybe do another test in the coming days? Xx

PinkButtercups · 22/09/2022 21:24

@Jennifer89 try testing over the next couple of days.

@Daisy155 that's why I was tested at 16 weeks this time because I had GD with DS.
The fact you've had it before puts you at a higher risk for GD again and having multiples does too. So I couldn't escape it this time 🤣🤣!

DesertSnow · 22/09/2022 21:50

@DanisEndo sounds sensible waiting till the weekend. Fingers crossed those are good symptoms for you!

@LucyLoopyLu fingers and toes crossed for you this cycle. Hope you're ok.

@SarahShorty It's definitely important to still have fun ttc - but I can see how it could turn into a chore!

@BethSuz27 I'm afraid I can't see anything, but I have rubbish eyes for tests. Perhaps take another tomorrow/Saturday and see how you get on?

@Bananatoast123 that's great news from your tests, and I'm super happy that news came when it did after AF teasing you the way it did. Sounds like just a matter of luck for you, and it will happen!

@Welshgal85 could be stress delaying AF but equally possible it's good news and your hcg just isn't high enough for the test to pick up.

@AnnaS94 I'm sorry you're feeling worried. Afraid I don't have any advice, but sending you positive thoughts.

@Jennifer89 Again, no advice other than to test again in a couple of days. Perhaps one of the other ladies on here may be able to advise.

DesertSnow · 22/09/2022 21:59

I'm feeling a bit deflated. I'm only either 6 or 7DPO and have been getting cramps indicating AF is imminent. Also have pretty bad backache. Last month my luteal phase was only 7 days and I'm sad that it might be super short again and that there might be a serious problem.

Really dreading waking up to a drop in BBT that will be a tell-tale sign. Keep checking my knickers, nothing yet but I keep thinking I've come on. Need to distract myself and stop stressing!

BethSuz27 · 22/09/2022 22:13

I’m 7 days late for AF not really sure what’s going on… still BFN on cheap tests, planning to get a frer tomorrow…

I’ve had symptoms and not really sure what’s going on, I’m about 18dpo, and I know from my friend that she didn’t get BFP till 21dpo, but I feel like I’m loosing hope….

I would be 4 weeks 2 days today, could I still get a positive?
