Ugh I’ve been cramping harder today, some brown discharge and red streaks when wiping so don’t think I’ll bother testing tomorrow now as I assume I’ll have full on AF any min now.

@DesertSnow really sorry you think AF is on route. Hopefully not! Or at least hopefully she holds off for a few more days to start stretching your luteal phase out a bit. I know it’s easier said than done but try going easy on yourself, do something nice just for you, face mask or fab movie or something, just to take your mind of things for an hour. 💕

Nypie · 22/09/2022 22:28

@Jennifer89 ah it is so confusing I had the weirdest cycle last month was late thougt I saw something on the tests but sometimes you just dont get that closure it could be a number of things! Your not by any chance coming off hormonal contraception?

Aw lovely to hear from you @Dreamingof3

Is it not a bit too early for AF @DesertSnow ? Tbh I feel out already and I'm not even in fertile week but feeling physical as if AF os coming could also be a positive sign! Got my fingers crossed for you.

DesertSnow · 23/09/2022 07:57

@DanisEndo ah thank you, that's very sweet of you. Sorry to hear you think AF might be coming. If it does at least you'll be on to the next cycle! 💪

@Nypie yes it would be very early for AF but after my last cycle had such a short LP it is possible... I think it's too early for the PMS symptoms to be a sign of pregnancy...

But the good news is my BBT didn't take a major dip (only a tiny one) this morning so hopefully that means AF is staying away for today. Bodies are so strange. They make it all so complicated and stressful!

Jennifer89 · 23/09/2022 08:15

@Nypie been off hormonal contraception for over a year and cycles usually like clockwork and first month ttc it has changed 😐. I doubt I am pregnant as passed expected start of period and still negative. I just hope my cycle stabilises again.

Jennifer89 · 23/09/2022 08:19

@DesertSnow thank you, I may as well test in couple days again just to be sure.. i've told my dh due to this being a weird cycle no idea when I will be ovulating so we will just dtd and see what happens.

Firsttimetrying2022 · 23/09/2022 10:23

Does anyone have any experience with reflexology and whether it can help with TTC? My MIL recommended it as she swears that it was what helped her conceive after 18 months of trying. I'm curious if anyone else heard of that or tried it?

DanisEndo · 23/09/2022 11:42

AF has come to stay - on to cycle 2 <3
Fiancé was more disappointed than i expected which was sweet, although maybe just being nice because he knew i was disappointed... either way. Feeling very lucky to have him.

missmoosh · 23/09/2022 15:24

@Jennifer89 I had the same thing first month TTC, I reckon its the anticipation/excitement/stress of it all that caused mine to be late!

Nypie · 23/09/2022 16:51

@DesertSnow ah people have gotten there positives at 7dpo...stranger things have happened ;)

@Jennifer89 Ah thats annoying. I got every sign in the book first try temp even had the nerve to stay at 36.9 before AF the next day. Hope it regulates soon for you. Do you temp?

DesertSnow · 23/09/2022 17:22

@Jennifer89 Good luck! Sounds sensible to continue dtd to make sure you're covered.

@Firsttimetrying2022 Have heard about reflexology for ttc - people seem to have mixed opinions about whether it helps, but anything that helps you to destress must be a positive.

@DanisEndo Sorry AF arrived, but that's lovely to say about your OH and hope it's a comfort you're in this together. At least you're onto the next cycle now!

@Nypie Really, as early as 7DPO? Gosh, yes stranger things have happened but I don't think it is that for me! Think also when actively ttc our minds probably listen out for every tiny niggle and we're more attuned to our bodies. I'm trying to check myself with reality - had a bit of boob pain then reasoned with myself I'd just been for a run and my sports bra isn't the best fitting item of clothing I own. So I'm trying to just relax and hope I get a longer cycle than last month!

BethSuz27 · 23/09/2022 17:32

Been cramping this afternoon so think AF if on her way, a relief as I’ve been crazy testing since she is 8 days late, first cycle after coming off pill so think I’m just regulating, still in for a June baby!

SarahShorty · 23/09/2022 18:23

@DanisEndo sorry the witch got you. Although now you can prepare for a new cycle. Your OH is a star xx
@BethSuz27 fingers crossed for a June baby! xx

Recently my DH did an at-home blood test for testosterone, FSH and LH levels and it turns out he has low T. Poor guy. This test was a follow-up to finding out about his sperm count. He was sad at first, but then relieved, because he's always had depression and low moods, which are all symptoms of low T. Bless him. He then had a private scan done today of his plumbing down there as he's always had one bigger than the other. Everything came back fine and he's a normal man, just with low T. Next thing is a semen analysis next month to see if assisted conception is on the cards. I imagine that since I've been pregnant at least twice within the last 5 cycles, they'll likely suggest to keep trying as we are for a few more months and see how we go.

Today is CD19 and we've DTD'd on the high days which so far have been CD15, 16 and 17. I still have not had a surge yet, so we skipped CD18 so as to not run him dry. Hopefully I get a surge tonight, it's been a very weird cycle.

Nypie · 23/09/2022 19:48

@DesertSnow lool at the sports bra! You do what you need to to keep sane!

DesertSnow · 23/09/2022 21:45

@Nypie 🤪🤣

DesertSnow · 23/09/2022 21:48

@BethSuz27 makes sense if your cycles are regulating, hopefully you'll know one way or the other soon!

@SarahShorty good to hear that everything else was ok, though sorry about the low t. Is there anything he can do to work on that? Must be a relief to have some answers. I have my fingers crossed you won't need assisted conception and that you get your surge soon 🤞

LucyLoopyLu · 24/09/2022 22:58

Hi all. Feeling a bit deflated. Think I am too far past ov for it to make a difference DTD today on CD18 (although done it anyway) and only managed twice this month in fertile window, CD13 and CD15. I got a high OPK on CD15 and a low since then on CD16 onwards so presume I missed my peak in the middle of the night.

Me and my husband are both pretty fed up and think we will be looking to get fertility testing before Christmas so we know where we stand.

Hope everyone else is OK x

TulipVictory · 24/09/2022 23:02

@LucyLoopyLu sorry you are feeling this way. What cycle is this for you? Sending baby dust your way 🎀

BethSuz27 · 25/09/2022 09:10

So,
my period is 10 days late, ovulated around CD 10 according to OPK and now CD 33… wondering if anyone has ever had a positive OPK clearblue but actually ovulated later than that?
I keep thinking I’ve come on and feel wet but it’s just discharge (sorry tmi)
do I still have a chance?

DesertSnow · 25/09/2022 09:22

@LucyLoopyLu Sorry you're feeling so deflated. But remember, it only takes one sperm to be successful, so you're still in with a chance. It's good you're looking at proactive steps if it doesn't happen soon.

@BethSuz27 Sorry, I really don't know. OPKs can only tell you about your surge, but BBT can confirm ovulation, so if you don't already temp might be worth looking into?

I'm feeling very sad. Just got AF, making it an 8 day luteal phase after a 7 day one last cycle. A big part of me thinks this might be a chemical. I had quite a lot of pregnancy symptoms that aren't my usual PMS, and my flow has started much heavier than usual (filled a pad in under an hour) and is full of clots which isn't normal CD1 stuff for me. Of course could just be all in my head, but I really was starting to think I could be pregnant.

OH has not been helpful, saying that even if it was a chemical then it was just a bunch of cells. But I'm scared that my body has let down what could have been a viable pregnancy, and with such a short LP this just isn't going to happen for us. I'm sure I'll be able to think more logically later, but right now I'm in huge pain and just really really sad.

missmoosh · 25/09/2022 09:49

@LucyLoopyLu sorry your feeling deflated, your not out though until AF shows! Sometimes the months people don't get as much a chance end up the ones they get a BFP, as they let go of the stress thinking they won't get a BFP!

@DesertSnow oh that sounds horrible, have you been to the Dr's about your luteal phase? Sorry if you have said it previously and I have missed it. Sending virtual hugs to you!

I'm CD13 today, no EWCM so not sure I'm close to O yet. I didn't want to use OPKs for another cycle or two, as want to be as low stress and enjoy the process. I now regret this decision...

SarahShorty · 25/09/2022 11:08

@DesertSnow thank you xx Hopefully yes. It's a very weird cycle this time around because I've had a week of high LH readings and low BBT which is highly unusual for me. I wonder if my last chemical threw my cycle out a bit. Still no surge yet and we DTD'd last night after a 3 day break. So who knows. I'm so sorry to hear about your luteal phase. It sounds like you may need progesterone to lengthen it. I'm sorry that your OH is being a pain. If mine said that to me I'd be holding back a slap, that's a horrible thing to say, especially in this circumstance. While he's technically right, he's also just a clump of cells, and a very big clump with a bad attitude at that. I hope you're okay xx

@LucyLoopyLu I'm sorry you're feeling this way, it's just so hard, isn't it? If you DTD'd on CD15 and your peak was overnight, you still have a chance. My fingers are crossed for you xx

@BethSuz27 I used Clearblue OPK once and found them accurate as I confirmed with an easy@home test strip. Your LH surge actually starts between 3am and 7am and it has to be metabolised into your urine before it can be picked up, which is why ovulation can occur the next day after you record your surge. BBT will dip slightly to confirm it. Sometimes it can happen as much as two days later because the egg can hang around for up to 24 hours after release. Whatever the case is here, you still have a chance until AF shows.

Jennifer89 · 25/09/2022 17:07

@Nypie I don't temp but have used ovulation tests.

Good news is my period has arrived today so I feel like at least cycle may regulate again and I can look forward to ttc in October.. fingers crossed.

Dreamingof3 · 25/09/2022 18:15

@LucyLoopyLu don't feel deflated. The cycle we conceived I got my peak on cd 19 and we only dtd cd17 and 19 so you never know!

PinkButtercups · 25/09/2022 19:08

@LucyLoopyLu it only takes one sometimes try not to let it get to you too much. I only DTD twice for this pregnancy in a cycle.

Went for a 4D scan today but the twins were having none of it! Hands in face or faced the other way 🙈. Got to go back Tuesday night so hoping they're a bit more cooperative 🤣. 26+1 today and they were both head down. Twin 1 was actually stroking the back of Twin 2's head.

DesertSnow · 25/09/2022 22:15

Thanks @missmoosh and @SarahShorty. Today has been rough. I feel so sad and like a fool for thinking that maybe this could be it. I'm going to make a GP appointment but don't hold out much hope, my GPs are really not great.

Glad AF finally arrived @Jennifer89 so you can look forwards.

@PinkButtercups so sweet, naughty little babies! Hope you get some good pictures this week.
