Hi everyone ☺️

I am a bit eager with this thread, I've just started my dreaded period (feel a little glum to be honest!) and I have been ovulating quite late, so if by a miracle I am successful this month I would be due end of may/early June. I have been dipping in and out of these threads and found them fantastic support so I hope you don't mind me carrying on the trend!

I am going into cycle 4, I am 31 and were trying for our first πŸ‘ΆπŸ»I suffered a chemical pregnancy recently and I feel SO ready to become pregnant, I want this so badly, as I am sure you all do too!

I was trawling through some old threads and found these facts that I found useful , feel free to read if you like πŸ˜™

  1. 80% of couples having regular sex (2/3 times a week) with no issues will fall pregnant in a year.
  2. 90% of couples having regular sex with no issues will fall pregnant in two years.
3.Each cycle you have approx 20% chance of falling pregnant. 4.The egg only lives for 24 hours so very small window to fertilise it 5.Decent sperm can live up to 5 days inside you so good to have sex before you think you ovulate as well as after. 6.If using ovulation testing the test picks up on Lh surge which often happens after the egg has been released. 7.Most NHS CCG will not investigate fertility problems until you have been having regular unprotected sex for over a year and some places insists for two years. 8.If you track your Basel body temperature it can give you a good indication of when you ovulate to get to know your cycles.
  1. Some types of lube can damage sperm be careful what you are using. (We are using preseed but using it like normal lube, not inserting it prior!)

Wishing you all the luck in world for this cycle 🀞🀞🀞🀞🀞

@Shannondd3108 amazing ❣️ that’s so lucky on the first try, did you follow any methods or just DTD after positive OPK? Congrats again πŸ’•πŸ’•

Shannondd3108 · 18/09/2022 11:09

@NSx just dtd everyday of my cycle πŸ˜‚ tired now but it was worth it πŸ’™

Shannondd3108 · 18/09/2022 11:10

@NSx i was using opk’s and when I got my positive we did it twice a day for a couple days xx

NSx · 18/09/2022 11:14

Sparklythings1 · 18/09/2022 11:18

@Shannondd3108 huge congratulations, how lucky! There’s nothing like seeing it in words πŸ₯°

Sparklythings1 · 18/09/2022 11:21

@Summerbreeze111 congratulations! Hope all goes well for you 🀞🏼 I have no bad experience to go on but I’m a really anxious person anyway and I was constantly on edge last time. Felt like I didn’t actually breathe again from finding out I was pregnant until I saw him! Lots of people have bleeding etc during pregnant and it works out fine so try not to panic if you do get any but I know you will just be on edge x

Mummyme87 · 18/09/2022 11:45

Congratulations @Shannondd3108 and @Summerbreeze111

Londonlady22 · 18/09/2022 11:51

WannabeMum22 · 18/09/2022 13:33

huge congratulations @Summerbreeze111 @Shannondd3108 so happy for you both!

FieldView · 18/09/2022 15:36

@Shannondd3108 congratulations on your bfp!

@ChloeN I'm going to wait and rest until around 12dpo I think, what about you? And yes I agree, the tww is seriously dragging! I'm trying to keep myself busy decorating but it's not really taking my mind off it πŸ˜‚

Shannondd3108 · 18/09/2022 15:47

@FieldView thankyou hope this is your cycle too 🀞🏻🀞🏻

ChloeN · 18/09/2022 15:57

@FieldView I don’t think I ever stop thinking about it 🀣 I’m going to what to see if I miss my period! I feel like seeing the negative test is so gutting so find it easier to wait it out!

Sparklythings1 · 18/09/2022 15:59

I forgot how hard the TWW is πŸ™ˆ I’m only 1dpo, our one β€˜try’ was two days before ovulation so it feels like ages ago! I decided not to have another attempt.. we totally overdid it last time and this month I wasn’t even counting anyway so if it was to be positive from that I would be blown away 😬 as much as I’m saying that I’ll still be devastated to do a test and see negative πŸ˜‚

Sparklythings1 · 18/09/2022 16:02

Don’t you just feel like WE’RE TRYING FOR A BABY is written all over your face? πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚ Our friend just had a little one last week so we’ll need to go and see him and swerve any chat of another one. We met someone my husband knows with a little one of our son’s age yesterday and he was saying they’re due another one next month and even jokingly said we better get our finger out. Inside I’m thinking β€˜I MIGHT BE PREGNANT ALREADY YOU KNOW’!!! 🀣

HopingForBaby2 · 18/09/2022 16:14

Congratulations @Summerbreeze111 and @Shannondd3108! Lovely news πŸ’•

Sparklythings I took your leftover your opk luck! I got by proper positive today finally! CD23! But thank you for all of your updates helped me feel a bit less mad as I was going mad waiting!

Tophy124 · 18/09/2022 21:03

I’m cd27 and 12dpo and honestly too scared to test and see another negative. Congratulations to all the pregnant ladies!! Waiting to find out if my husband is going away next month with work which would mean waiting to try again till November

Tophy124 · 18/09/2022 21:04

I also think despite catching the peak, that I’m sure I ovulate later than the app predicted, as my period is always later than the app says. I wasn’t testing at consistent times so will try and improve that next month if my husband is around. Maybe we will try every day and see if that helps πŸ˜‚

ChloeN · 18/09/2022 21:15

@Tophy124 do you feel like getting af is better than a negative test? I feel like I’d rather wait as long as poss!

Tophy124 · 18/09/2022 21:21

Honestly by the time I’m due af I’m anxious either way, but I know seeing a negative test is an instant feeling of deflation but I still keep my hopes up till AF shows. So I guess for me AF feels clearer and then I can plan for the next month. Ironically the only time I’ve had a BFP when trying (2-3 years ago) was the one month I didn’t test

Sparklythings1 · 18/09/2022 23:43

@Pepilachat πŸ˜‚ so glad you finally got there! The moral of the story is never assume you’ve missed it and don’t give up testing 🀣 fingers crossed this is your month

Sparklythings1 · 18/09/2022 23:50

I’m saying I’m not buying tests this time and will only order them if AF hasn’t arrived but I don’t see that happening, given how late it will probably be with how all over the place this cycle is. I’d just end up convincing myself I’m definitely pregnant to get a massive let down. If I can hold off til 12dpo I’ll be doing well πŸ™„

I did a FRER last time at 12dpo which was the first day it had shown up then did the clearblue digital with weeks and it showed on that the same day. It made me slightly doubt how reliable the FRERs are at telling you so early when it seems a clearblue weeks one would have done the same job. I like it better seeing it in words too, although I think the words NOT PREGNANT are bound to sting more than a white space πŸ™ˆ I’m just going to be bold this time and get the clearblue though I think, as long as I wait long enough

Sparklythings1 · 18/09/2022 23:55

Two interesting things I saw in videos today that I’d never heard before, might not be truth in either of them but:

  • if a man β€˜climax’s’ we’ll say first then a women second, it can help open the cervix and get it all β€˜up there’ πŸ€” That was on a video as a tip a girl had been told from a top fertility specialist in America. She said she followed it twice and got pregnant first time both times. Not saying it’s true, just interesting!
  • the other one was that pre-seed seems to have an increased risk of miscarriage and it was suggested it was due to giving weak sperm, who would otherwise never have made it, an advantage and allowing them to fertilise the egg, leading to a miscarriage if the sperm was poor quality. I used pre-seed last time and had my little boy but was quite surprised to read that. Again, most likely a rumour
