Hi everyone ☺️

I am a bit eager with this thread, I've just started my dreaded period (feel a little glum to be honest!) and I have been ovulating quite late, so if by a miracle I am successful this month I would be due end of may/early June. I have been dipping in and out of these threads and found them fantastic support so I hope you don't mind me carrying on the trend!

I am going into cycle 4, I am 31 and were trying for our first πŸ‘ΆπŸ»I suffered a chemical pregnancy recently and I feel SO ready to become pregnant, I want this so badly, as I am sure you all do too!

I was trawling through some old threads and found these facts that I found useful , feel free to read if you like πŸ˜™

  1. 80% of couples having regular sex (2/3 times a week) with no issues will fall pregnant in a year.
  2. 90% of couples having regular sex with no issues will fall pregnant in two years.
3.Each cycle you have approx 20% chance of falling pregnant. 4.The egg only lives for 24 hours so very small window to fertilise it 5.Decent sperm can live up to 5 days inside you so good to have sex before you think you ovulate as well as after. 6.If using ovulation testing the test picks up on Lh surge which often happens after the egg has been released. 7.Most NHS CCG will not investigate fertility problems until you have been having regular unprotected sex for over a year and some places insists for two years. 8.If you track your Basel body temperature it can give you a good indication of when you ovulate to get to know your cycles.
  1. Some types of lube can damage sperm be careful what you are using. (We are using preseed but using it like normal lube, not inserting it prior!)

Wishing you all the luck in world for this cycle 🀞🀞🀞🀞🀞

@anotherpotoftea is that the easy at home tests? Have you got the premom app? If you get it and add your tests to that it will give you a reading for each. Mine are all 0.2 just now, there’s always a faint line but it will eventually go higher then over 1 and show a peak. It’s 24ish hours after this that you ovulate

anotherpotoftea · 09/09/2022 16:19

@Sparklythings1 yep that’s the one! Premom put this at 0.17, whatever that means. It’s the wrong time to do it anyway, just wanted to see what happened.

Are you able to look into whether you’d be able to get SMP? Being unhappy at work can make you so stressed - it’s not crazy to consider leaving!

Whyismycatanasshat · 09/09/2022 18:07

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a good month. I checked out of the other thread in a strop with the world and forgot to check into this one!

Anyways I think I’m out with this month really early on but I’d like your thoughts!
Dp and I dtd on Monday night having had a β€œlow chance” reading on Monday morning, then another low on Tuesday only to get a solid β€œpeak chance” reading Wednesday…
no flashing high chance reading at all…
but DP has been away with work from Tuesday morning and he’s home tonight… I’m probably out aren’t I!
Thanks for any opinions!

Tophy124 · 09/09/2022 18:34

@anotherpotoftea Definitely recommend the Premom app as it will help you interpret and take some guesswork out. That looks like a low reading to me so I’d suspect you already ovulated this month.

Tophy124 · 09/09/2022 18:37

@Sparklythings1 Im so sorry! What would your plans be if you quit? Would you be looking for another job, or able to stay home for a little while?

Im a stay at home mum right now, and my stress levels are so much lower compared to what they used to be.

Saying that, we are moving soon and I have a huge appointment coming up Monday that I’m really badly stressing over, so I’m filled with stress and anxiety, and I have not missed these feelings at all. I feel awful for anyone that hates their job as I’ve been there and it’s the worst. It really takes over your whole life. That said, I’ve also had jobs I would skip into because I enjoyed them so much and they are out there. Nobody deserves to work somewhere making you so unhappy xx

HopingForBaby2 · 09/09/2022 19:29

@Whyismycatanasshat I would go for it tonight and hope for the best!

Sparklythings1 · 09/09/2022 20:16

@Tophy124 aw are you, great 😊 kind of both, I’d be able to stay at home and spend more time with our little boy while working some self employed hours around him, often work at night while he’s in bed (he’s a very good sleeper so it’s pretty much guaranteed I can do it)! I think that would go up a notch if I had two kids but I would just use the childcare arrangements I had for my β€˜real’ job so I’d have a few days to be able to work without distraction! Yeah totally, I’m at the stage where I just don’t care anymore at work and everyone else really does. I’m filled with anxiety the whole time and take medication for it that I obviously wouldn’t want to be taking while pregnant. I somehow managed to survive the last pregnancy without taking it but it’s just got worse now πŸ™„

Sparklythings1 · 09/09/2022 20:18

@Whyismycatanasshat can never remember how many hours after peak you actually ovulate but it seems like it will most likely be today at some point.. I think?! GO GO GO πŸ˜‚

Sparklythings1 · 09/09/2022 20:22

@anotherpotoftea if you’re on cd24 chances are you’ve already ovulated this month (if it’s happened straight after the pill- not sure if it always does). If you start from day 10 next cycle you should see it going up. I’m the same as you and been doing so many opks but they’re all about 0.2 so don’t know what is going on, thinking I might just not ovulate when I haven’t had a proper period yet. Gives me no clues for next month!

Tophy124 · 09/09/2022 20:39

@Sparklythings1 fingers crossed next month is your month!! I’d still DTD regardless as I’ve known stranger things to happen!

Mummyme87 · 09/09/2022 20:48

@Sparklythings1
assuming you know that meds for anxiety/depression/psychosis etc are often very safe for pregnancy ❀️ Don’t go without if you don’t need to xx

Sparklythings1 · 09/09/2022 20:54

@Mummyme87 I haven’t been on antidepressants but was considering them if I was going to stay. When I looked it all up though I found a 3/100 chance of autism in babies in those taking it and 1/100 from everyone else plus a few mentions of heart defects. I know they are considered β€˜safe’ but I think I’d end up more anxious about the fact I was taking them πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

NSx · 09/09/2022 21:06

@Whyismycatanasshat this is exactly what’s happened to a girl in another thread - two O then a static πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… I didn’t know it was possible.
I say u DTD tonight and see what happens - it only takes 1 sperm 🀞✨

anotherpotoftea · 09/09/2022 21:33

Thanks yeah, I figured if it’s happened this month it’s happened already but did an OPK just to see what would happen. I hope things become clearer for you!

Mummyme87 · 09/09/2022 22:00

@NSx i had two O then a static. Not sure it was correct though. Test seemed a bit flooded

NSx · 09/09/2022 22:12

@Mummyme87 I’ve never seen this before - was this this month for u? What was the outcome I’m curious 🫣

Mummyme87 · 09/09/2022 22:21

@NSx no was cycle 10 and I’m currently cycle 12. My cheapie OPK didn’t peak until a couple of days later so I didn’t trust the CB that cycle.

NSx · 09/09/2022 22:24

@Mummyme87 thats bizarre isn’t it πŸ˜₯ ttc is so hard. How u getting on this cycle? πŸ’•

Whyismycatanasshat · 10/09/2022 00:02

Well I’m in two minds as to whether I’m trusting the opk; I’ve always had the flashing stage before the solid. That said, as soon as I told DP, he was more than happy to oblige tonight and he’s home now until Tuesday morning again so hopefully we can continue making sure we dont miss any opportunities!

Mummyme87 · 10/09/2022 06:25

@NSx i think I’m 1dpo so starting the TWW. AF will be due 22nd sept. We DTD O-5, O-2 and O. Wanted to fit an extra in but we didn’t so such is life.

where Are you in your cycle now?

Sparklythings1 · 10/09/2022 07:13

After us talking about the babydust/shettles method, I started listening to the babydust audiobook last night. The studies that are in it are so interesting. Things to do with cows being inseminated within 12 hours of ovulation compared to pre ovulation and the odds are extremely high (for boy close to ovulation and girl before it). It seems crazy! Very interesting and could be complete coincidence but was exactly how our little boy was conceived as we dtd in the morning and night on ovulation day, just to be sure that month! I don’t have the patience to track for 3 months before starting though, especially when my opks seem to be all over the place πŸ™ˆ so I’m just going to have to take a guess as to when ovulation will be and aim to stop before and see. I’m more treating it as a science experiment than anything else as I really wouldn’t mind which way it goes this time as long as everything is okay but would eventually love a girl and boy. my ideal scenario would be leaving number 3 up to chance and not finding out since it would be the last

Congratulations @MrsF111 - the first bfp of the thread!! Praying that this is a sticky bean for you πŸ™πŸ» How many dpo are you? x

MrsF111 · 10/09/2022 12:10

@FieldView 13dpo I believe, I didn’t do any opks and I have PCOS so my cycles aren’t completely clockwork but they are generally only a few days different so shouldn’t be too far off that

Sparklythings1 · 10/09/2022 13:20

@MrsF111 ahhh congratulations! Sending you lots of luck
