Hi everyone ☺️

I am a bit eager with this thread, I've just started my dreaded period (feel a little glum to be honest!) and I have been ovulating quite late, so if by a miracle I am successful this month I would be due end of may/early June. I have been dipping in and out of these threads and found them fantastic support so I hope you don't mind me carrying on the trend!

I am going into cycle 4, I am 31 and were trying for our first πŸ‘ΆπŸ»I suffered a chemical pregnancy recently and I feel SO ready to become pregnant, I want this so badly, as I am sure you all do too!

I was trawling through some old threads and found these facts that I found useful , feel free to read if you like πŸ˜™

  1. 80% of couples having regular sex (2/3 times a week) with no issues will fall pregnant in a year.
  2. 90% of couples having regular sex with no issues will fall pregnant in two years.
3.Each cycle you have approx 20% chance of falling pregnant. 4.The egg only lives for 24 hours so very small window to fertilise it 5.Decent sperm can live up to 5 days inside you so good to have sex before you think you ovulate as well as after. 6.If using ovulation testing the test picks up on Lh surge which often happens after the egg has been released. 7.Most NHS CCG will not investigate fertility problems until you have been having regular unprotected sex for over a year and some places insists for two years. 8.If you track your Basel body temperature it can give you a good indication of when you ovulate to get to know your cycles.
  1. Some types of lube can damage sperm be careful what you are using. (We are using preseed but using it like normal lube, not inserting it prior!)

Wishing you all the luck in world for this cycle 🀞🀞🀞🀞🀞

CD11 and I’ve got my static smiley face on CB digi. I’ve ran out of cheapie OPK, think I have one or two left and forgot to order any on Amazon until after 8pm so order won’t come until tomorrow when I’m working πŸ₯΄

LavenderWillow · 07/09/2022 07:07

@Mummyme87 time to DTD! πŸŽ‰
at least you can maybe use cheap ones to see if it is going down?

CD 9 for me today. Started doing OPKs this morning and BD tonight then every other day. Expected ovulation on CD 18.
also doing bbt which usually helps confirm my ovulation but if I ovulate when I think I will I will be on holiday next day so probably will mess with temps.

Noggiepie92 · 07/09/2022 07:59

@Tophy124 We're currently under care of a fertility consultant and she said we have unexplained fertility so the only thing they can offer is IVF. Everything else for both of us is functioning perfectly and they just can't explain how it's not happening lol. I'm wary of IVF because of the extra hormones, I've had hormone related cancers on both sides of my family so feel it's tempting fate even more!
To make it worse, my mum and sister are ridiculously fertile and have 9 kids between them- trust me to be the dud πŸ₯²

FieldView · 07/09/2022 10:06

Oh @Noggiepie92 sorry to hear that. I think "dud" is a bit harsh though! I saw lots of bfps on the May thread, so hopefully this one will be just as lucky. Sending baby dust.

Had my first flashing smiley on the clearblue digi opk today, CD7. Dtd yesterday as I'm working away today. Bd "scheduled" with dh for tomorrow, and most days between now and ov πŸ˜‚

Who said romance is dead...

Noggiepie92 · 07/09/2022 10:10

@FieldView thank you lovely, the May thread is insane, all the BFPs are so wonderful to see! baby dust to you too ✨

Ooh exciting for the flashy face, enjoy your FW! Plenty of time for romance later lol

LittleOne04 · 07/09/2022 13:05

Thanks to everyone for all the recommendations! Much appreciated :-D
I think because this month we've decided to try properly that I'm hyper aware of symptoms. I have been expecting AF since Saturday and she has not arrived yet (although my cycles can go up to 35 days so I wouldn't say I'm 'late' until tomorrow)😐I have all the symptoms and keep expecting AF to arrive any minute. Had cramps for days now but they are more mild than usual. I was sure I'd come on overnight but nothing this morning.

Sparklythings1 · 07/09/2022 13:07

@FieldView it becomes such a chore doesn’t it πŸ˜‚ I remember last time when we were doing the SMEP my husband would go β€˜is tonight an β€˜on’ night?’ πŸ™„πŸ˜‚

Firsttimetrying2022 · 07/09/2022 14:20

Hello! I'm new here - TTC #1 cycle 2 - currently CD16 and waiting for ovulation to be confirmed. Not looking forward to the TWW but reading here has been a nice distraction :)

Tophy124 · 07/09/2022 15:13

@Noggiepie92 That sounds really tough. But also please be reassured that they didn’t find anything on tests. Do you have any bad period symptoms? I only ask as my diagnosis for endometriosis came after I had a laparoscopy. Nothing showed up before, but I had really debilitating symptoms with very heavy and painful periods. I always like to share this as I was misdiagnosed as having IBS for years! I actually had endo fusing my bowel partially closed. I have a strong family history of it too tho so feel free to ignore anything I’ve said if cycles are typical and no family history xx

Tophy124 · 07/09/2022 15:17

According to the app I’m 1 DPO. Determined to focus on self care this month. Just ordered myself a gratitude journal, have been lighting my candles each evening and trying to get into a better bedtime routine. Also focusing on eating more as I’m a notoriously bad eater and just snack all the time.

Is anyone else doing anything for self care?

Noggiepie92 · 07/09/2022 16:00

@Tophy124 it's interesting you say about endo as my sister was diagnosed with a mild/moderate form of it. I do suffer with AF but not every month, I also have a blood clotting disorder that makes things in that department a nightmare too! Tbh the extent of the tests has been bloodwork and ultrasound, nothing particularly invasive to check it out πŸ€” maybe I'll ask the GP again but they've not been great so far!

Love the self care! I've been doing fertility yoga and it's really soothing 😊

Tophy124 · 07/09/2022 19:49

@Noggiepie92 I’d definitely ask to see a fertility Dr and raise the family history if you’re still needing help in a few months. Unfortunately GPs and even some fertility drs are clueless on endometriosis. Thankfully I saw a dr who had seen scores of women with it and at the time I had my diagnostic laparoscopy they also treated the visible endo. If we have no luck TTC after 6 months I will be going back and asking if more surgery is an option (this can be a typical treatment choice for women with endo trying to conceive as it can help clear the Fallopian tubes and make getting pregnant easier).

Have you had your vitamin and iron levels checked recently? Having mine checked next week as I’ve been anemic for years and I think it’s impacting TTC.

I wish drs were more upfront about things that can impact our fertility. A friend has PCOS and said her dr recommended going to bed at the same time every night and having a good routine and she then got pregnant!! I’d never heard that before

Noggiepie92 · 07/09/2022 19:56

@Tophy124 thank you for the advice, I may have to go back and ask the question! Sadly it does seem like my GP wanted to do the bare minimum and then I spoke to the fertility dr and she literally offered nothing else to try, just went straight to IVF.
It's excellent they treated your endo and you've got a plan going forward, fingers crossed it won't flare up again 😊
Never heard of routine changes helping with pregnancy and PCOS! That's an amazing tip and super easy to do

Tophy124 · 07/09/2022 20:16

@Noggiepie92 Im so sorry you had that experience. I also find it wild they suggested going straight to IVF! It’s not like IVF doesn’t come with risks and a lot of strain associated with it.

I know I have the breast and ovarian cancer gene and I fully understand why you’d be reluctant to do IVF. I’m really hoping that baby will come naturally and take the choice out of your hands.

Im going to try the good sleep routine, so will be interesting to see if it helps us :) I’ve never had a good routine as an adult but determined to try. We use preseed too and another friend recommended NAC but I haven’t tried that yet xx

NatGee · 07/09/2022 21:31

@Sparklythings1 that made me LOL

Tophy124 · 07/09/2022 23:07

@Sparklythings1 I think I’ve killed my partners sex drive 🀣

thedust · 08/09/2022 06:27

Moving over here from the May thread, AF arrived today 😀 on to cycle #4 here. In my head we'd have baby #2 before DD1 starts school next September but I'm feeling like that might not happen now. Also feel like everyone around me is having baby #2 and they have had no problem at all conceiving!

HopingForBaby2 · 08/09/2022 06:38

Hi all,

Room for another one? I’m CD9 and this is our first cycle TTC. I have a 10 (almost 11) year old son from a previous relationship and my partner has no children (yet!). Im super nervous but excited and I feel totally out of the loop as it’s been so long. I’ve bought some ovulation tests so I’m going to give those a go.

Best of luck to everybody this cycle - I’m so excited to be joining you all! πŸ‘ΆπŸΌ

xx

Noggiepie92 · 08/09/2022 06:51

Welcome @thedust and @HopingForBaby2 baby dust all round ✨

Tophy124 · 08/09/2022 08:25

@thedust Definitely feels like babies are everywhere once you’re TTC. Most people from my baby group are pregnant or already had another

anotherpotoftea · 08/09/2022 09:56

Hey everyone. Am going a bit mad waiting for my cycle to return after coming off the pill. Various people advised me not to go down the OPK route straight away but I’m finding it so hard not knowing and am really having to resist ordering some.

Bluejeanbaby91 · 08/09/2022 12:57

@anotherpotoftea I started with them about a month after coming off the pill, more so to help me understand my cycle and I think it really helped me, if you think it will help then go for it! I tend to start testing about a week after AF ends up until my peak is over,
Good luck!

Thanks for your reply! Which brand of OPK did you use?

CRLan · 08/09/2022 13:55

Hi girls spoke to my friend whose a doctor and she had issues ttc! She has two little boys now but she reccomends taking vitamin B6 everyday and inofolic these are supposed to help so thought I’d share.

Bluejeanbaby91 · 08/09/2022 13:58

@anotherpotoftea I use the easy at home from
Amazon, they've never failed me and they're quite cheap plus you get so many so they last a while!
I did have the clear blue digital too but honestly they're so expensive for what you get and if you're testing am and pm in that timeframe where you expect to ovulate you go through a whole pack!

I have a book I stick mine in to chart progression too so I find strip tests much easier!
