I am a bit eager with this thread, I've just started my dreaded period (feel a little glum to be honest!) and I have been ovulating quite late, so if by a miracle I am successful this month I would be due end of may/early June. I have been dipping in and out of these threads and found them fantastic support so I hope you don't mind me carrying on the trend!

I am going into cycle 4, I am 31 and were trying for our first 👶🏻I suffered a chemical pregnancy recently and I feel SO ready to become pregnant, I want this so badly, as I am sure you all do too!

I was trawling through some old threads and found these facts that I found useful , feel free to read if you like 😙

1. 80% of couples having regular sex (2/3 times a week) with no issues will fall pregnant in a year.
2. 90% of couples having regular sex with no issues will fall pregnant in two years.

3.Each cycle you have approx 20% chance of falling pregnant. 4.The egg only lives for 24 hours so very small window to fertilise it 5.Decent sperm can live up to 5 days inside you so good to have sex before you think you ovulate as well as after. 6.If using ovulation testing the test picks up on Lh surge which often happens after the egg has been released. 7.Most NHS CCG will not investigate fertility problems until you have been having regular unprotected sex for over a year and some places insists for two years. 8.If you track your Basel body temperature it can give you a good indication of when you ovulate to get to know your cycles.

1. Some types of lube can damage sperm be careful what you are using. (We are using preseed but using it like normal lube, not inserting it prior!)

@Tophy124 looks like your peak. So would expect to ovulate 12-36hrs after that. Do you get any symptoms that you’re ovulating?

Sorry to jump on this, so you ovulate 24-36 hours after the peak? Is that right?
When the OPK's go low again does that mean you have ovulated?
Totally trying to get my head around these OPK's 🙈

If you only waited 3 mins then I'd say that's a positive for sure!!

Hello! I am coming over from the May thread cycle day 1 for me. Fingers crossed for this month

@Mayfield87 12-36hrs post first positive OPK usually is when you ovulate, the OPKs getting lighter indicates the surge is over but not that you have ovulated. A LH surge doesn’t confirm you will ovulate, just that you have a surge in the hormones that peak around ovulation. BBT will usually confirm Ov for you if you do that. I don’t as don’t sleep for long enough periods overnight and usually forget when I wake

just done an OPK but it’s slightly damaged so can only see 1/3 of the test line, however it is starting to get darker so I expect I’ll get a peak tomorrow afternoon maybe? Or Thursday morning possibly. Had lots of Ewcm just now. Must have sex tonight. Didn’t last night as I was so tired.

@Mayfield87 @Mummyme87 i think the time also depends on when you catch the surge, if at the beginning or the tail end. You obviously have a bit more, or less, time from then.
Last cycle I could have well caught the tail end had I relied only on the CB opk as I was using fmu as per instructions. I would have certainly lost at least 12 hours.
I'd say always test at least twice, with once in the afternoon, to make sure you're not missing your peak

@Mummyme87 Me too. 😂 CD 12 and haven't managed to dtd since CD7. Ive just come off a night shift so I mustn't say "im too tired" lol. Fingers crossed! What CD are you?

If I had my peak day on a yesterday evening, and expected ovulation today but didn’t DTD till later tonight would that be ok? Finding it hard to time things around peaks etc already! Worried the egg would have already gone by the time my partner is home late tonight and we didn’t DTD this morning (only yesterday afternoon) x

@Mummyme87 I get no symptoms at all that I’m ovulating. Have even started using preseed as my CM is not predictable.

My poor partner is going to get pressured tonight as he leaves tomorrow at 4am 🤣 Tonight may be too late and ovulation may have already gone but at least then I know I gave it my best shot before he leaves incase the OPKs aren’t being reliable or something x

@Tophy124 chances are you haven’t missed it yet.. if you’ve ‘tried’ prior to ovulation it can still work that way too if they’ve stuck around in there

I'm not feeling very optimistic this month 😔😔 for two reasons,

1. I didnt get a positive opk test (it went to 0.5ish max) although I do wonder whether my urine was quite diluted the evening I took the test), I did have symptoms though, and a weird stitch in my side that I thought could have been ovulation, but I'm doubting it now!

And

2. the day after what I think would have been ovulation, I've come down with a sickness bug 🐛 🥺 I have no idea if having a sickness bug during the tww would impact conception!

Sigh sigh sigh*

Feeling sorry for myself, weirdly I had the same sickness bug last month and thought that could have been partly the reason for not being unsuccessful last month, so I think the same for this month!

I need to catch up with the rest of the thread, and will update the list soon!

I don't know what to think this month.
One minute I'm cool as a cucumber and the next I'm checking the calendar again to double check how many DPO I am and when I can test!

5dpo Today, I have one FRER I think I'll do on Sunday, with my last that ended in MC I got a positive at 10DPO with an Amazon cheapie so fingers crossed

Again I'm at the point where it's all I'm thinking about! Hope everyone else is doing okay, anyone else testing Sunday?

I highly recommend starflower oil capsules for increasing EWCM. I get loads now!

@Bluejeanbaby91 good luck for Sunday! If it makes your tww go any quicker, I’m jealous you’re at that stage! I need to see this cycle go then start trying next cycle (things on I can’t be pregnant for end of September), so I would love to be testing on Sunday 😅 but I know how much it drags just because you’re building up to this day when you get to test!

@Sparklythings1 oh god yes you're right you've got a lot longer to wait! I felt like that when I came off the pill, just wanting to get a cycle going so you can start!!
Good that you've got a distraction of some plans this month though!

@Bluejeanbaby91 yeah totally! This will be number 2 so I don’t feel in quite such a rush at least but I’ve returned to work after mat leave and absolutely hate my job so really need to go on mat leave again as soon as physically possible, making me more desperate to get a BFP asap 😩😂

@Summerbreeze111 I get you, I don't feel like this is my month either. However, we're not out until AF is really here so let's wait and see 😊

Tbh I don't really feel like I've bounced back from my last AF, feel quite PMSy (if that's even a word) so I'm a bit worried hormones are out of whack now...TWW is killing me

Ahh i don't know if I'm being realistic or just trying to avoid disappointment so already setting myself up to fail.. its awful seeing that negative test/period coming!

Sorry you feel the same way, have you been trying for long? How many days post ov are you? I think I am 2 (?) So still very early days for me!

TWW is so tough.

Im only not stressing right now as I think I’m still in the ovulation week and once my husband leaves for his trip I can’t do anymore to increase chances.

I find delayed AF so difficult to manage and I’m not sure if a negative test or AF coming is worse. I think I’m going to try so hard to not test this month, but I know they then builds my excitement up a lot.

@Summerbreeze111 I'm the same, assume the worst and then it's a bit less disappointing in the long run! What cycle are you on now?

I'm currently 8DPO and have been trying on and off for 5 years and never had a positive sadly! I was absolutely convinced that we'd done it last month (so was hubby) so when AF came, I was devastated. Our time will come though 😊

@Tophy124 TWW is just the worst, literally wishing my life away lol! I find getting AF is worse personally as I get crazy cramps and fatigue so it's like a double punishment 🤣

@Noggiepie92 Thats true! My AFs have also been super nasty the last few months and very heavy. I’m already anemic so it’s a double whammy like you say.

Have you met with a fertility Dr at all? (You don’t have to answer that and apologies if it seems intrusive, just trying to offer support). We saw a fabulous dr before I conceived my son and they could check I was ovulating and scheduled me for surgery (I have endometriosis) but I fell pregnant just before the surgery!
