Hi everyone ☺️

I am a bit eager with this thread, I've just started my dreaded period (feel a little glum to be honest!) and I have been ovulating quite late, so if by a miracle I am successful this month I would be due end of may/early June. I have been dipping in and out of these threads and found them fantastic support so I hope you don't mind me carrying on the trend!

I am going into cycle 4, I am 31 and were trying for our first πŸ‘ΆπŸ»I suffered a chemical pregnancy recently and I feel SO ready to become pregnant, I want this so badly, as I am sure you all do too!

I was trawling through some old threads and found these facts that I found useful , feel free to read if you like πŸ˜™

  1. 80% of couples having regular sex (2/3 times a week) with no issues will fall pregnant in a year.
  2. 90% of couples having regular sex with no issues will fall pregnant in two years.
3.Each cycle you have approx 20% chance of falling pregnant. 4.The egg only lives for 24 hours so very small window to fertilise it 5.Decent sperm can live up to 5 days inside you so good to have sex before you think you ovulate as well as after. 6.If using ovulation testing the test picks up on Lh surge which often happens after the egg has been released. 7.Most NHS CCG will not investigate fertility problems until you have been having regular unprotected sex for over a year and some places insists for two years. 8.If you track your Basel body temperature it can give you a good indication of when you ovulate to get to know your cycles.
  1. Some types of lube can damage sperm be careful what you are using. (We are using preseed but using it like normal lube, not inserting it prior!)

Wishing you all the luck in world for this cycle 🀞🀞🀞🀞🀞

@Tophy124 we are away from all family aswell. My family are Newcastle and in laws are Devon… we are south London 😬 not easy at all.

Sparklythings1 · 05/09/2022 07:23

@Cm078 definitely! Any birthday from kind of April until about October is good I’d say, I’m in Scotland so our school year goes from the start of March. I would just want to avoid the winter if possible but if it comes to that and we’re still trying I’m not going to stop am I πŸ˜‚

Mummyme87 · 05/09/2022 08:06

I would like to avoid an august birthday to stop them being youngest in the class. Equally September baby means a whole extra year of childcare πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I have
July and January babies. I would have loved a spring baby but the universe had other ideas.

CD9 today, got flashing smiley on CB digi OPK. Think I had 4 days worth of flashing last cycle

Cm078 · 05/09/2022 08:34

There is the down side of the youngest but I enjoyed it when everyone was turning 30 and i was still 29 for a little while longerπŸ˜‚
Fingers crossed for you!

anotherpotoftea · 05/09/2022 08:44

I’m a January baby and I’d like to avoid that but wouldn’t stop trying for that - whatever happens happens right?!

I think 6-month cohorts would be better in schools but I guess they’d be too unevenly sized!

Mays12 · 05/09/2022 08:51

Happy Monday everyone and hope everyone had a lovely weekend without too much stressing!

I'm pretty confident now in my prediction that I ovulated early and I'm guessing I'm currently around 9dpo and symptom spotting like crazy! I have had sore boobs since about 2dpo which have just gradually gotten worse and this morning I made my usual batch of coffee and it doesnt taste right although I could have just made a bad batch hahaha! Also slightly nauseous but that could also be a result of the bad coffee..

Trying to remind myself that these could also just be because AF may be arriving and I'm not exactly sure when that would be because like I say I'm having a weird cycle! I think I might test on friday which would be 13dpo if AF hasn't arrived because I'm seeing friends friday night so would be nice to know whether I should drink or not!

anotherpotoftea · 05/09/2022 09:09

@Mays12 the waiting is so hard isn’t it? Best of luck for a BFP

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 05/09/2022 09:40

Hi Ladies, AF due for me today so waiting for that to get started on a new cycle which will be cycle #2 for us. Took a frer yesterday and got a BFN on 14DPO so expecting AF today

Mummyme87 · 05/09/2022 10:01

@anotherpotoftea I’m a January baby and I really like it. My youngest’s birthday is day before mine which is not so great. I wouldn’t stop trying to avoid a month, just have preferences. Last year I did reduce my ttc efforts when I would have had an end of December baby and probably would again this year if I’m not pregnant.
also have my sisters wedding abroad in October next year and don’t really know what to do about that on the ttc front, as don’t want to fly after 34weeks

Tophy124 · 05/09/2022 16:10

@Mummyme87 Are you a big part of the wedding?

Totally understand not wanting to fly that late in pregnancy. I’d be the same.

I ended up missing all my friends weddings as they got delayed due to Covid and we had a move abroad that couldn’t be changed and had just moved so couldn’t then afford flights back immediately. It’s not the same, but if you have to miss out you will have my full empathy.

Tophy124 · 05/09/2022 16:15

@Mummyme87 It makes it so much harder doesn’t it.

We are an 16hr flight from one side and a 3hr flight from the other side (or a full 2 day drive) and so we get help at maximum a few days a year when we have family visit.

So would you need to stop TTC by November to avoid missing your sisters wedding? (Ignore my bad math skills) πŸ˜„

Tophy124 · 05/09/2022 16:17

@ExcitedandNervousC1 So sorry!! it’s always disappointing when AF shows.

I like to think of it as a fresh start for tracking and treat yourself to something good!! I enjoyed lots of good wine last month once AF showed up xx

ldshz · 05/09/2022 16:20

Hi all, can I jump on this thread too? Dtd in fertile window last cycle and realised that I was gutted when af came, so started actively ttc this month and I’m currently 3dpo in cycle 1. Technically still possible for a may 23 baby but I’m realistic and know the likelihood of that happening is slim πŸ˜‚ Dh has been ready for years but it was me that was freaked out by the thought of it, I’m 33 so I suddenly feel like time is ticking and I’ve spent the last month consumed by nothing but pregnant thoughts, how on earth do you survive the tww? 🀣

Londonlady22 · 05/09/2022 16:22

Officially hopping over from May thread. CD1 for me today!! Fingers crossed for us all!!

Welcome!

Surviving the tww?? I tend to just stare aggressively at the calendar and check my Flo app every hour or so, so if you find a more effective solution to get through the tww let me know! πŸ˜‚

ldshz · 05/09/2022 16:51

@FieldView this is me and it’s cycle 1 πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

if I find a better solution I’ll definitely let you know!

Mayfield87 · 05/09/2022 17:33

Can anyone help? Have I missed the peak do you think? Just trying to work out when or if I've ovulates yet? Thanks all

cavebaby · 05/09/2022 18:06

@Mayfield87 I'd guess you have possibly missed it in those 30 hours between day 13 and 14 tests. The test will be whether your tests remain low now. Did you have any other signs of ovulation? I'm not sure if this is your first month OPKing but once your tests start to get higher than normal it may be best to start doing them at least twice daily to hopefully catch your peak x

Mayfield87 · 05/09/2022 18:21

Thanks @cavebaby. Yes it is my first time, can you tell πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚ I didn't realise you had to keep testing so much. I'll keep going then and see if it gets lighter or darker. At least I'll know it was around about CD13/14.
I am TTC baby number 2 but didn't really use OPKs last time or clearly properly last time, plus it was over 3 years ago.
Thanks for your help- appreciate the reply 😘

Mayfield87 · 05/09/2022 18:22

@cavebaby also crazy how quick the peak comes, you really do have a small time frame to catch it!

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 05/09/2022 18:38

@Mayfield87 can I ask what tests you are using? I'm using clear blue but as I'm starting cycle 2 and a bit disappointed I want to use 2 types for ovulation:)

Mayfield87 · 05/09/2022 18:41

@ExcitedandNervousC1 I bought them on Amazon. I've took a pic of the box for you.

@cavebaby and yes I do have twingey pain and dull ache on the left side which couple be ovulation pain.

Hi @Londonlady22 nice to see you but sorry AF came!

@ldshz welcome! We loosely tried last month but not a lot of BDing so going to do every other day hopefully from this week until next!

@FieldView you made me chuckle about the TWW - not looking forward to being back there again this month!!
