TWW starting 31.07.22 - Company Needed

Hey all!

I'm on several other threads that I'm keeping up with but some of them are a tad long now, so I thought I'd start a new one for people to join.

Ovulation day for me today (30.07.22) so TWW starts officially tomorrow. AF due on the 12th. I have tests in the house, but my goal this month is to keep my mind busy and avoid symptom spotting! I don't plan on testing if I can help it. Want to avoid the disappointment if I can.

We are TTC #1 and we are in cycle 4 now. I had a chemical mid June when we weren't officially TTC but when it happened we realised now was the time to actively try. We wanted it so badly.

So that's a little about me and I would love some company in a slightly smaller thread.

@Shleepymummy thanks so much! i'm so over the moon - i know it's early but i'm going to let myself be excited. i have been feeling a little nauseous the past few days and burping a lot lol. i think most of the sickness this morning is down to nerves and excitement.
the only issue is i have my 30th birthday night out tonight with all my friends and my sisters and i've got to get through it without secretly not drinking 🤣

how are you doing today? has the sickness eased off? x

Ahh congratulations @eleveneleven11 ! Such good news! (Although sorry about your 30th! Good luck hiding the not drinking - but for such a good reason!)

Turns out the reason AF didn't arrive is because I got my bfp last night (at 7:30pm after a 1 hour hold, which was the only chance I had to test yesterday).
I've just tested this morning again (both times on a 10mIU cheapie stick) and it doesn't look quite as strong? But the line is still there, so we shall see where it goes...

I kept seeing that shadowy line on the other tests from 11DPO but it was super faint and not obviously a line so was walking around all week convinced nothing was happening. And yesterday had a sudden moment where I realised that maybe all the shadowy lines could be there for a reason 😅

How are you feeling @eleveneleven11 and @Shleepymummy ? Any symptoms?

Yay. We have 3 congratulations @eleveneleven11 and @Hannargh it's amazing to see!

So day 2 of doing OPK first time so this may seem like a dumb question. I'm CD11 of 35/36 and it's showing high fertility already. So peak should be in 5ish days I imagine. Like was not expecting that this morning. My app says ovulation is due in 10 days.

Also smiled when I saw the smile like yay. But then I was like oh yeah don't get too excited it's not a baby yet. 😂😂😂

I must have a super long LP which I'm slightly concerned about.

Also if I had gone by the instructions and started on CD15 I may have missed it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@ttcfirstbaby90 are you using sticks or one of the CB ones?
If it's high already you may ovulate sooner than 5 days - for me peak comes a day or so after a high, but the other month I had a high that dropped away and then came back and peaked later (which suggested the first follicle that released didn't have an egg so more hormone was needed for the next follicle - still ended up with the same ovulation day as usual though).

I, and a few of the ladies here, have used them for a few months, so shout if you have any questions or want to share any pics!

@Hannargh what a wonderful morning - congratulations!! this is such lovely news. were you surprised?! have you been feeling any symptoms?

i've had a few things that made me wonder this last few weeks but nothing obvious. my sense of smell has been heightened - my dog has this raccoon toy that she is obbbbbsessed with she takes it everywhere and if i'm in the same room as it it's all i can smell but DH doesn't notice.
i've also been feeling a bit dizzy and head spinny. almost like a hangover. i'm feeling a bit nauseous this morning. x

@ttcfirstbaby90 i'd recommend using the strip tests if you can get hold of any, i've heard the digital ones can be confusing? i've never used the digital ones though so not sure! x

@eleveneleven11 I've barely been feeling anything and had to convince myself it was actually a positive test 🙃 and looking back there were maybe a few things but nothing obvious. Glad to know I'm not the only one without heavy symptoms, though! Have your told your DH yet?

@Hannargh ooh that's good to know. It's a clearblue advanced one yeah. I figured it would be easier to read than the strips. Although disappointed you cant buy refills for them. It was just a ring yesterday my first day doing it and then a flashing smiley this morning which caught me completely by surprise. I did look at the blue lines and it was significantly darker than yesterdays. Hopefully it does what yours did then and I won't be as alarmed if it goes back to negative.

@eleveneleven11 I may give strips a go next time round as I wouldn't want to be spending almost £40 for one of these kits every other month.

I'm so happy for you both. Keep us all updated on progress and symptoms. I have a feeling I won't get many symptoms if my mum is anything to go by. She didn't have sickness or anything with all 3 of us. She said the only way she knew she was pregnant was that she missed af.

@ttcfirstbaby90 i used the digital and then once I got a flashing or solid smiley I’d use the cheap ones to really pin point when ovulation is coming. The digital ones you can only use once a day, only use morning urine, and it should go circle, flashing, solid. It can be one per day, or you can have a a few days of circle, few days of flashing. Some people never get a solid. Once you get solid it’ll stay that way so no point testing anymore. It just looks for an increase in hormone so you can go from circle to flashing as it finds an increase in hormone, then another increase would go to solid. If you have a flashing, it won’t go back to circle. Your partner could pee on it and it would still be flashing! As you say annoying you can’t buy more refill tests. I only start testing with the digital 4 days before I think I’ll ovulate, so I can get a few cycles from them.

@Shleepymummy ahhh maybe I've messed it up starting on CD10 then as it said to start on CD15 for 35 day cycle but I figured starting early wouldn't hurt. Hah. Nevermind. I'll just see how I get on for now I guess.

@ttcfirstbaby90 so if you got a flashing you can either test daily with them and see when you get your peak solid, you might just have flashing for a good few days. Or to save sticks you can use the cheap ones and once they get stronger go back to digital one in a few days. Just to save having to look at a flashing smiley for days on end. The holder will now be waiting for a rise in LH hormone compared to now to show that peak. I also used cervical mucus to help tell, once it got like egg white I would use cheapies to see what was happening. Certainly a learning curve and took me months conceiving my first and now 3/4 cycles with this pregnancy!

@ttcfirstbaby90 you are making me laugh, tbh we have to apeciate those positives where ever we see them. I aldo use the sticks but won't be this cycle am reading book that says its morr important to pay attention to fertile signs like cm and as I know around the time that I ovulate and the sticks stressed me out last time I'm just going to try and pay closer attention this month

AF has arrived for me just today--so onto next cycle now! I am relieved to know that I CAN ovulate..lol atleast as much as at home testing can tell me. Sorry to hear some more of us are also out this cycle. Good luck to us this time around!

Hey everyone!!! I'm so sorry! I've been super stressed with family stuff I haven't been keeping up.

How is everyone? I see we have some positives!!!!! Eeeeeek I'm so happy for you girls! Give me the quick low down because last time I opened chat there were 400 messages... now there are 700+ haha. So who do we have now on the pregnancy train?! How far along are you all?!?!

I should be able to keep up a little better now things have chilled out a little bit. So my first scan went well as you know, measured in at 6+1 instead of the 7+4 that we thought. But we had a heartbeat and everything looked good. We've booked another scan for this coming Thursday where I will be 8+6 🤞🏻 will post pictures then. We've also had our 12 week scan appointment through on the 11th October. So it's all happening here now.

I'm so thankful I don't have any nausea though! Sore boobs are a nightmare, and I'm constantly thirsty, hungry, and needing to pee lol. I'm eating us out of house and home! Can't wait to see our kidneybean with arms and legs next week!

So yeah... lowdown on who is pregnant and how far please ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ xxxxxx

@eleveneleven11 ah that's so sweet about DH. I told mine straight away too. It's his birthday next weekend so wondered if i might wait but I just ended up blurting it out anyway especially as he knew AF was late.

Hey @TheCakeIsALie18 - good to hear from you again! I guess one of those bfps is me? So weird to say that! Technically 4+3 so not far at all. That's good about the nausea - my sister in law had bad nausea from about week 5 and I'm not a fan of that happening😅
That's wonderful you'll have a full scan soon and that everything is just ticking away. Hopefully those measurements come out stronger in the next one. Looking forward to your update xx
