Hey all!

I'm on several other threads that I'm keeping up with but some of them are a tad long now, so I thought I'd start a new one for people to join.

Ovulation day for me today (30.07.22) so TWW starts officially tomorrow. AF due on the 12th. I have tests in the house, but my goal this month is to keep my mind busy and avoid symptom spotting! I don't plan on testing if I can help it. Want to avoid the disappointment if I can.

We are TTC #1 and we are in cycle 4 now. I had a chemical mid June when we weren't officially TTC but when it happened we realised now was the time to actively try. We wanted it so badly.

So that's a little about me and I would love some company in a slightly smaller thread.

Much love xoxox

@pugsB I'm glad you're on the up. And I'm glad everyone is happy in this little group. I will make a new one by the same name, just pt.2 when we hit 1000 message lol so we can keep it going that way too.

Hopefully the poas will give you a breakthrough soon! Testing opks daily must be a nightmare! Xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 you must think me weird--i liked the testing during the first couple months cause i found it interesting to be able to see how my body works. I also possibly have pcos which is apparently supposed to give you consistently high lh/ multiple peaks so wanted to watch out for that pattern but my lh profiles have been pretty standard 🤷🏻‍♀️. I am going to stop testing like a crazy lady as i have truly hit my limit now.

Also, i was able to extend my luteal phase by 1 day or so but actually shortening my cycle by 2 days or so by taking vit c and zinc the last couple of months. Of course it could be all the other supplements i was taking prior that have finally made a difference now that i am at about 90 day mark with them. So my ovulation moved forward by about 3 days for the last couple of cycles which are now 30-31 days instead if 31-33 days. I thought this might serve as an anecdote for the ttc ladies.

eleveneleven11 · 08/12/2022 15:36

any update @WilllowStar ? did you test this morning? :)

@pugsB we can find out at 16 weeks via a private scan all being well! so we'll definitely do that, i can't wait to know who is growing in there :)
i totally know what you mean. i really enjoyed tracking LH during my cycle but i could only handle tracking temperature for one or two cycles.. sometimes it just feels a bit too much! x

TheCakeIsALie18 · 08/12/2022 17:58

@pugsB clever that you've managed to reduced you're overall cycle length! The human body fascinates me!!

Hopefully since you've been pretty regular with standard lh levels you'll be able to catch your fertile days pretty well to get a baby bean settled in! ❤️

@eleveneleven11 interesting that you enjoyed tracking lh but hated temp lol. I'm the other way around. I just kept a thermometer by the bed and it just became habit taking temp when the alarm went off in the morning haha.

@WilllowStar yess!! Any news? Have you tested again?! Xxx

Hello all ☺️

Yes I tested this morning and BFN sadly. That will teach me to go back and look at tests the next day 🤦🏼‍♀️ From a bit of googling it’s apparently quite common with blue dye tests to do this overnight.

Going to try OPKs next cycle, I would love a September baby! Also going to not test so early next time 🙈

hope your all doing well xx

TheCakeIsALie18 · 08/12/2022 22:35

@WilllowStar sorry to here it's BFN. Try out the early response tests. They're really good. You're not out until AF shows up. How many dpo are you now? Xxx

OP posts:
pugsB · 09/12/2022 20:44

@eleveneleven11 @ i definitely prefer LH over temps. I am never up at the same time everyday and am very prone to disturbed sleep 😒. I admire your discipline @TheCakeIsALie18

@WilllowStar sorry to hear that! However you aren't quite out of the game till missed AF 🤞🏼. May i ask how many cycles in you are? Is this going to be tour 1st?

WilllowStar · 09/12/2022 21:23

Hello!

So I think I’m about 12 dpo (roughly)! AF due Tuesday and I have zero symptoms so I think I’m defo out this cycle. This is cycle 2 so I’m feeling okay and positive going into cycle 3!

I had a very surprise baby at the end of 2020 (literally one night DTD without protection) I was so shocked! I have Pcos so I always thought I would struggle to get pregnant. Would love to have another baby in 2023 but this my first time actually ‘trying’ as my first was a little lockdown surprise! I had a lot of pregnancy symptoms first time round too.

hope your all good tonight. xxxx

pugsB · 09/12/2022 22:38

You give me hope @WilllowStar! I also most likely have pcos. Never confirmed but I have had almost all of the symptoms most of my life and all my GYNs have told me they suspect I have it. Congrats on the surprise baby and baby dust for the 2nd one!!

WilllowStar · 10/12/2022 08:52

@pugsB so glad to give you a bit of hope! I actually used to have no periods at all and then lost almost 2 stone and starting exercising on advice of the doctor and I’ve had fairly regular periods ever since. That was about 10 years ago now though!

are you still in the TWW? How are you feeling? Xxx

eleveneleven11 · 12/12/2022 16:47

@WilllowStar sorry to hear it wasn't your month but glad you're feeling positive for next time!

I have a private scan this evening :) really looking forward to it and seeing what I hope will look more like a teeny baby than a blob!

pugsB · 12/12/2022 19:06

@WilllowStar ya diet and weight control is so imp for gals like us! I found that right nutrients and the right kind of carbs make a ton of difference and weirdly also the timing of my meals (perhaps something to do with insulin and blood sugar levels). Thanks for asking: I do have an update see below.

@eleveneleven11 ooo! exciting! do report back as soon as you find out ❤️❤️

So yesterday, i caved in and tested using easy@home and then clear blue early response. The reason being that i saw an uptick in my usual LH test. I have been in disbelief since and also being cautiously optimistic. I was 9dpo possibly 10dpo

@pugsB eeeek congratulations! Welcome to the BFP group ❤️❤️❤️ how are you feeling? Xxx

OP posts:
pugsB · 12/12/2022 20:45

Thanks @TheCakeIsALie18 😊! It feels surreal to know your body is capable to doing this haha. Honestly even if all this goes to shit just that knowledge alone is so empowering.

I am still quite early so taking it day by day. I read somewhere that early bfp can possibly be cause for concern so obviously that didn't help. In general I am feeling mild to moderate twinges in my body. I tend to be hyper sensitive with these things. I especially don't like twinges i am getting i my pelvic area slightly off-center. Other than that i think i am feeling the usual early pregnancy stuff: sore boobs (def more than usual), bloating, gas, frequent need to go no.1 and this DANGED cold that is refusing to leave me alone.

Did you experience cramps/ twinges early on in and around pelvic area?

eleveneleven11 · 12/12/2022 21:03

@pugsB omg how exciting! congratulations! i'll never get bored of seeing a positive test result 😍
i was 9 dpo when i got a positive on an early response test and it didn't look too dissimilar to yours so try not to worry! i was feeling almost like mild stitch-like feelings off centre left for the first few weeks, i'm convinced i could literally feel it implanting. i'm also very in tune with my body so feel like i felt everything!

so happy for you 🤩

eleveneleven11 · 12/12/2022 21:06

i had a lovely scan this evening. measuring exactly right at 10+6. the scan clinic were running behind by about 45 minutes and as a thank you for waiting they gifted us 10 digital photos and 2 videos of our baby. we could see it wriggling around and stretching it's long skinny leg out it was so crazy!

TheCakeIsALie18 · 12/12/2022 22:02

@pugsB yeah, cramping is normal I had it pretty much constantly for the first 4 weeks and then on and off week to week until about 12 weeks. Now I just get it occasionally.

If it makes you feel any better I got my BFP at 10dpo ❤️❤️ xxx

@eleveneleven11 I'm glad it went well ❤️❤️ our private scans always gave us videos and photos. Way better than the NHS lol xxx

@eleveneleven11 so nice to see your little one ❤️❤️🥹. And so glad you got those extras! Did you find out the gender at all?

And thank you so much for the wishes 😊😊. I think its finally sinking in a bit for me. I am so glad to hear you had a similar experience early on. Its not quite cramps but more like pinches and some randoms stabs in by upper abdomen and back and even thighs and buttocks all on the right side. Sometimes i get an odd ache in my left ovary area but that is less frequent.

I booked my first appointment with OBGYN today but couldn't get one before 9 weeks!! I think i will go crazy by then if this one sticks that far out! I am not sure whether I should tell friends if I don't even have a scan yet.

eleveneleven11 · 12/12/2022 22:33

@pugsB no we have a few weeks until we find out the gender. still got that to look forward to! ❤️

your body will be stretching a little and prepping for the bean to stick which i'm guessing is the sensations you're feeling. try and relax into it 🥰

i think in terms of telling people, do whatever is going to make you happy and comfortable. we have slowly filtered out the news to our friends and family from 4 and a half weeks onwards because we wanted a support system around us, especially after the miscarriage. i don't regret not waiting until 12 weeks/a scan!

TheCakeIsALie18 · 12/12/2022 22:49

@pugsB we didn't tell family or close friends until we had our early scan to show because it showed that it the pregnancy was viable. But we didn't tell everyone else until our NHS 12 week scan. Everyone is different though. The pregnancy we lost we told people straight away, so this time we wanted to wait a little so we didn't have to untell people. Xxx

@pugsB wow that’s amazing news! Congratulations. I hope you are feeling okay so far xx

pugsB · 12/12/2022 23:42

@eleveneleven11 oh sorry! I think i got confused for a sec and thought this was the 16 week one! lol you clearly said 10+6! Was this your first scan/ ultrasound btw? I saw mentioned online of one at 6 weeks as well for confirmation and placement etc.

As you said there is probably no one way to go about sharing this news. I will prolly do what feels right at the moment if and when the time comes. Need to first make it past these few weeks!

How is everyone else, especially the ttc crowd? Seems like its just a few of us active on here now. This seems to be a super lucky thread gals, I can attest to that!

pugsB · 12/12/2022 23:43

Thanks @WilllowStar! Just saw your message. I am doing good I think. Mega distracted and didn't get any work done today lol.

pugsB · 12/12/2022 23:48

@TheCakeIsALie18 I am favoring your way right now. As i was saying in the previous post probably no point thinking too hard on this especially at this point. I know I am gonna tell family first and then close friends and finally the rest in waves. Will decide when the time comes. I am cautious by nature and was really hoping to have a scan done before even telling family but it seems like that is not gonna happen!
