Hey all!

I'm on several other threads that I'm keeping up with but some of them are a tad long now, so I thought I'd start a new one for people to join.

Ovulation day for me today (30.07.22) so TWW starts officially tomorrow. AF due on the 12th. I have tests in the house, but my goal this month is to keep my mind busy and avoid symptom spotting! I don't plan on testing if I can help it. Want to avoid the disappointment if I can.

We are TTC #1 and we are in cycle 4 now. I had a chemical mid June when we weren't officially TTC but when it happened we realised now was the time to actively try. We wanted it so badly.

So that's a little about me and I would love some company in a slightly smaller thread.

Much love xoxox

@TheCakeIsALie18 I know right! Just need to get through this week, it's nice having you on the same dpo!! Haha :) just think Sunday we will be 8dpo, are you going to test before missed period ? Xx

TheCakeIsALie18 · 01/08/2022 09:32

@xttcbabyno1x yeah, I've never found anyone else on the exact day haha. I could probably get away with testing before a late period, my cycle is only 28/29/30 days, but I'd be worried about disappointment of a BFN. So I reckon I will wait until the day before, or the due day of AF. I track my temp so if I see it drop I won't need to test haha. We will see when the need to test obsession kicks in 🤣

What about you? Xx

xttcbabyno1x · 01/08/2022 09:38

@TheCakeIsALie18 well my ovulation was delayed by a whole week due to covid, so annoying, I'd have been 9dpo by now lol!!

My period comes 14 days after my ovulation - I started tracking my temp this month too so im hoping it takes away my addiction of poas 😂😂

AF is due 13th so im gonna try and hold out! I can't face seeing one line xx

Irishgal1987 · 01/08/2022 10:10

@xttcbabyno1x Haha maybe confident is a bit of a stretch, good you are feeling content. I'm also feeling content 😊
We can all spur each other on to not test early haha. I've some light cramping today but trying not to read into it as I had the same last month too.

xttcbabyno1x · 01/08/2022 10:43

@Irishgal1987 😝 haha! Ooh how many dpo are you today? Are you temping? Not even joking the months we weren't properly trying but weren't being careful, I would've tested by now! 😂

Irishgal1987 · 01/08/2022 11:21

@xttcbabyno1x I think I'm around 9DPO. I had a static smiley on clear blue ovulation test on 22nd July but clear blue. Af due (as per flo and it's usually accurate) on 10th Aug. The boobs and tiredness were the signs for me when I was pregnant before my MC so eagerly waiting for those signs to come 🤞🏻🤞🏻

xttcbabyno1x · 01/08/2022 11:25

@Irishgal1987 oooh! Every pregnancy is different though, I lost a baby 5 years ago, completely unplanned and with that one I had no idea I was pregnant no symptoms at all until I missed my period and took a test! Xx

Olearia · 01/08/2022 11:37

Thanks @TheCakeIsALie18 This cycle is going ok - I feel like we've done all we can this month so feeling pretty chilled about the whole thing at the moment. I'm sure I won't be feeling as calm once I'm getting closer to testing though!
Sounds like we'll all be testing around the same time which will be nice!

TheCakeIsALie18 · 01/08/2022 14:05

@Olearia aww good I'm glad it's going well. Chilled is the current feeling here too. I symptom spotted everything last month and got myself worked up... the stress won't help our chances lol so I'm going to try and relax and keep myself busy. If I can't hold out till late AF I will possibly test on the 11th or 12th... 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Irishgal1987 ooooh 9dpo, not long to wait now! I'm the same, when I had my CP I had nausea and tiredness, so those are the symptoms I'm looking for lol.

@xttcbabyno1x haha AF due for me on the 13th too lol. Small world xx

Irishgal1987 · 01/08/2022 14:56

@xttcbabyno1x that is very true, you definitely do read some stories on here about very different pregnancy symptoms per pregnancy.
@TheCakeIsALie18 not too long to wait really, you nearly be glad of work to keep you occupied haha. The tiredness was unreal wasnt it, you just knew!

TheCakeIsALie18 · 01/08/2022 15:20

@Irishgal1987 oh god yeah. I was having an afternoon nap every day. I have a very busy lifestyle so being a little tired is nothing unusual lol. But I was sleeping 8-9hrs a night, needing a nap at about 3 and then I was I'm bed again before 10 lol. That will be my biggest giveaway if we a re successful this month I think haha xx

Irishgal1987 · 01/08/2022 15:25

@TheCakeIsALie18 Haha that is a crazy amount of sleep isn't it. I just constantly felt drained. Like continuously hungover 😂 do you remember how many days po you were when you had those symptoms? I wasn't really tracking at the time so unsure.

TheCakeIsALie18 · 01/08/2022 15:29

The nausea started 2-3 days before AF was due, so would have been about 10dpo-12dpo ish and the fatigue I think started a little bit before that. Probably around the 8-9dpo. Rough guesses. I found out I was pg with CP 1 day late.

Sooo hoping I get crazy tired this month 🤣👌🏻 xx

OP posts:
Irishgal1987 · 01/08/2022 15:56

Haha bring on the tiredness! Not so much the nausea. It's just mad how similar symptoms are to af isn't it. You could drive yourself mad!

Hannargh · 01/08/2022 16:55

Hi - would you mind if I joined too?

I've been gently lurking on MN ttc forums for the last few cycles and seeing a couple of other people with the same tww has made me finally post.

We got married in April and have been ttc since (finally - after 10 years together!!). I have longish cycles (32 days on average) but only started OPK and bbt tracking last cycle. Turns out I ovulate on CD21 (which is later than I'd thought).

This month got a lh peak on Friday so expected to ovulate on Saturday but no bbt drop and lh was still quite high. Kept testing and got a second (higher) peak yesterday and proper lh drop today so ovulation today (CD21 again). Have been dtd over the weekend and will again tonight and tomorrow, so all bases as covered as we can...

Last cycle was just a one peak rise so very happy I was able to track what was going on.

AF also due on 13th August, so here we go!

TheCakeIsALie18 · 01/08/2022 18:56

@Hannargh aww congrats on the wedding. I married my hubby 22nd December last year after 10 years together too! Not to mention 3 times rearranged thanks to the plague...

Will you be waiting to test on the 13th/14th or will you test a little earlier?

There are 3 of us now I think all due on the 13th.

@Irishgal1987 yeah, crazy. I don't generally get nausea or tiredness or any of the usual symptoms on run up to AF as I'm so active all the time it's hard to tell. It means my brain goes into overdrive when I feel something that feels different haha. Xx

Hannargh · 01/08/2022 19:05

@TheCakeIsALie18 Thanks! And you - sounds like a similar story!

I've managed to hold off from doing any testing so far (I know!) as AF will let me know. We will see how long that willpower lasts ...

Fingers crossed for us all!

xttcbabyno1x · 01/08/2022 20:05

@Hannargh hi lovely!! Also due 13th August here :) I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to wait til I miss my period 😂 xx

Hannargh · 01/08/2022 20:22

@xttcbabyno1x Glad there's a few of us! Makes the wait a little easier. Last month I was slowly losing my mind and spotting all the things I wouldn't normally notice.

When do you think you might test? I'll have to live through you if you start testing early 😊

xttcbabyno1x · 01/08/2022 20:22

@Hannargh definitely! Well I was thinking next Monday but my boyfriend said just wait 😂 he said he doesn't want me stressing ! You?

Hannargh · 01/08/2022 20:46

@xttcbabyno1x how many cycles have you been ttc for, if you don't mind me asking?

I've held out until AF for testing so far so hoping I'll be able to do the same this time. 13th August will be 12DPO and my normal LP seems to be 11 days. I'd probably be tempted to test then or hold off until 15th just in case my body is playing more games with me this month 😅

xttcbabyno1x · 01/08/2022 21:04

@Hannargh so this is our first month "properly" as in making sure I'm getting my peak etc! Prior to this about 3/4 cycles not using any protection and just DTD when we fancied! How about you?

It's so hard waiting isn't it! Flo is telling me I can test in 7 days, not sure why it's doing that to me 😂😂

Hannargh · 01/08/2022 21:23

@xttcbabyno1x ah I've found it so reassuring to feel like I actually know what's going on. This is also cycle 4 for us. First two I was just estimating and learning as much about ttc as possible (having carefully ignored it until I knew we were going to). Cycle 3 I started using opks and bbt and same again this time. Having charts and data seems to help my brain calm down and reassures me too.

I'm using Premom and it doesn't seem to suggest I should test ever 😅

xttcbabyno1x · 01/08/2022 21:25

@Hannargh ahh I'm the same now I'm tracking my ovulation and recently my bbt too, I feel much more content! My cycles vary between 22-28 days (32 this cycle because I had covid) so it's no good for me just guessing!

I have four different tracking apps at the moment, talk about obsessed 😂😂

Hannargh · 01/08/2022 21:37

@xttcbabyno1x that's so good you know what's going on especially after having had Covid. We had it back in April/May and I don't think it changed my cycle length but it may have affected ovulation and I wouldn't have known back then.

Hopefully all the apps are telling you the same thing! I started using Clue but moved to Premom once I started all the testing. They're matching up though now, which is nice.
