TWW starting 31.07.22 - Company Needed

Hey all!

I'm on several other threads that I'm keeping up with but some of them are a tad long now, so I thought I'd start a new one for people to join.

Ovulation day for me today (30.07.22) so TWW starts officially tomorrow. AF due on the 12th. I have tests in the house, but my goal this month is to keep my mind busy and avoid symptom spotting! I don't plan on testing if I can help it. Want to avoid the disappointment if I can.

We are TTC #1 and we are in cycle 4 now. I had a chemical mid June when we weren't officially TTC but when it happened we realised now was the time to actively try. We wanted it so badly.

So that's a little about me and I would love some company in a slightly smaller thread.

Much love xoxox

@pugsB glad you are staying chill! i was soooo chilled on my first cycle as we were on honeymoon so plenty of distractions. cycle 2 i was convinced i was pregnant and was crazy symptom-spotting, cycle 3 i made a real effort to try and not overthink everything and i feel like i am going into this TWW pretty relaxed - but that might change in a week or so hahaha.

everyone is different but i think you made the right choice there. you might as well start now if you were ready to prep! if it happens quicker than you expected then you have 9 months to get your head around it all.

my AF is due on the 18th too :)

Hannargh · 05/09/2022 15:12

@pugsB I wish I'd realised how much prep I could do! When DH said he was ready to have children last summer and we agreed a date to start, I was logging my cycles but didn't really research things until after our wedding and we were ready to go go, as I was a bit scared to learn too much in case our plans changed.

So first 2 cycles we dtd whenever and round the middle of the month in particular, but after doing opks and bbt it turns out I don't ovulate until CD21. But once I started tracking properly I was then spotting all the tww symptoms as surely it must be happening right?? Now on my third cycle of tracking and feeling much more chill overall - got things to do and will just see when the time comes what will happen.

SLK1990 · 05/09/2022 15:16

Hi, hope it's ok I join this thread, seems like a lovely one!

I'm TTC#1 and on our second cycle trying and using OPK's.

I ovulated on the 30th September and we only managed to DTD on 24th, 27th and 30th (o-day) do you think that's a good enough chance?

Fingers crossed for everyone testing soon! I'm going to try and hold off as long as possible but I'm already itching to pee on a stick! (Only 6dpo!!)

eleveneleven11 · 05/09/2022 17:16

@SLK1990 hello :)

i'd say definitely a good enough chance especially if you DTD on o-day - it only takes once :) fab that you are 6dpo haha you're almost halfway! woop!

how was your TWW last cycle? did you give in to the temptation of testing early?!

Hannargh · 05/09/2022 17:16

Hi @SLK1990 ! Welcome to the tww party!
It's so hard to tell what your best days to dtd are - @Nypie shared a really interesting chart further back in the thread, so hopefully with 0 and -3 you're in with as good a chance as anyone!

How are you feeling otherwise (apart from needing to poas!)?

pugsB · 05/09/2022 17:36

@eleveneleven11 its a bit hard not to think about it, isn't it?! i am glad you have learnt to curb your urges haha. my mind wanders from time to time. The thing is that i have a backache since the very next day and its hard for me to not think its somehow related although i know this is way too early!

we are cycle buddies it seems! how long are your cycles, typically (hoping this one is 9+ months for you 😀?)

@Hannargh Completely understandable.. too much info can be a bad thing too..I am glad you gained this insight about your body sooner rather than later. my own philosophy was to ditch my usual over-preparing mindset (where i plan and plan but don't actually do) and just get on with it because you simply can't know somethings until you start. 2 cycles is not a lot of wasted time, I would think. of course i don't want to assume..glad to know you have also got a handle on tww!

@SLK1990 : Hello! I am also new here and someone (i think Nypie) posted a pic a few posts back which had the chances of conception with respect to dtd days..i found it helpful 😊

Nypie · 05/09/2022 22:24

Ohhh we have new! I love that, think this is a sign for everyone to come out of lurking though tbh I lurked for an agee.

Nice to have you @pugsB it's a slower more intimate group which is nice!

@eleveneleven11 I am firmly on the crazy side I've been testing since 5/6 dpo (I thought I was 6/7 which is still stupidly early) If I squint my eyes, add a filter and offer my soul to devil I could swear theres something there 😂😂 this journey is harrd! But I have a few more days of testing before I resign I bought a 25 pack of easy @ home and I've enjoyed every second. What is your plan when you get yo dark side are you holding out?

Nice to have a ttc sister on here @SLK1990 I'm also cycle 2 a bit further on from you 8 to 9 dpo and maybe even a similar age! You keep holding on dont be like me peeing on sticks for lols

eleveneleven11 · 06/09/2022 09:29

@pugsB it's very hard! it's so difficult not to fixate on every little thing you feel. i've never been so in tune with my body - i'm sure i get phantom symptoms because as soon as i realise i'm not pregnant they seem to stop lol.

my cycles are usually 30 days. i'm never usually more than a day early or a day late so pretty much like clockwork! how about you? (& yes - here's hoping for a 9+ month cycle this time around, lol!)

@Nypie if testing is what gets you through then you go for it! i think sometimes it can be nice to ease yourself into a negative or a positive rather than sitting and wondering 24/7. but yeah, it can also drive you mental lol. its exciting that you are potentially seeing a little something!!!! i reeeeeeally hope at least one of us (hopefully all of us!) are lucky this month. obvs keep us updated.
my plan is to not test until at least the 17th. that will be the day before AF is predicted and im going on a big night out for my 30th birthday that day so if its a negative, i'll be able to relax and enjoy the evening. i've got a long 11 days ahead hahah

SLK1990 · 06/09/2022 11:45

@eleveneleven11 last cycle was my first ever tww and it was more exciting and fun being the first. I had pretty much convinced myself it was going to work the first go, had nausea, metallic taste, sore back so was convinced I was pregnant. Think I was just concentrating on every single twinge or feeling and almost conjuring up symptoms. Trying to be more laid back this time and realise it is unlikely to work so quickly and to be patient.

@Hannargh feeling fine so far, have some niggling feelings in my tummy but trying not to over-analyse it. 7dpo now so going to try and at least hold off until the weekend for any early testing. Where are you in your cycle? Are you on TWW?

@Nypie lovely! Good luck and fingers crossed for you this cycle! When are you planning on testing or have you already? 😂

Hannargh · 06/09/2022 12:52

@SLK1990 I'm 4dpo today. Have been feeling gentle aching across both hips but I think it's just progesterone rising as I've been taking B6 this month (and too early to be anything else!).
Last few months I've had an 11 day LP so should be due AF on the 14th. This is technically our 5th cycle (but 3rd tracking properly and I think we just mistimed things the first two).

Are you planning on any early testing? I think I might this month as I'm interested to see if there's even a CP going on, even if it's upsetting to find out.

SLK1990 · 06/09/2022 13:14

@Hannargh I think it's so easy to get distracted with normal progesterone rising and pregnancy symptoms!

I'm trying to hold out until at least 10dpo, last month I started spotting from 9dpo very lightly for 4 days until proper AF turned up so I'm thinking if I get past 9dpo with no spotting it may be a good sign.

I'm the same with CP's too, I'm interested to know that something is going on down there even if it doesn't stick!

Hannargh · 06/09/2022 13:22

@SLK1990 yeah I know what you mean. As far as I know I haven't been pregnant before, so I'd like some confirmation it's going to happen at some point, even if it's bad news! (But preferably not!). Let us know how you get on at the weekend, even if it's a not yet!

Nypie · 06/09/2022 22:36

@eleveneleven11 I think maybe because its the 2nd cycle its still new and exciting and as you say it does kinda stop you from fully getting your hopes, I probably have 3 more days of testing then I'll be at the give up stage and I'll wait AF out. I feel like it needs to be all of us, no woman left behind! But it's exciting to think that each month potential 2 or more will get their positive! Ohh have an amazing 30th! Really hope you a bfp as a present.

@SLK1990 ahh that 25 pack of easy at home tests have got me good! I need to start selling pregnancy tests. Ah progesterone is a bitch, sorry it had you hoping last time. I had crazy sore breast last cycle this cycle barely a twinge. When I had my cp the only symptoms I remember is nausea and tiredness

Hannargh · 08/09/2022 08:11

Morning everyone! How are we all doing today? @eleveneleven11 @Shleepymummy @pugsB @SLK1990 ? How many DPO are you now - anything you've noticed (and been trying to ignore) so far?
And how's the testing going @Nypie ? Has that little something turned into anything?

eleveneleven11 · 08/09/2022 08:45

@Hannargh @Shleepymummy @pugsB @SLK1990 @Nypie

morning all! im around 3/4 DPO now. i haven't really noticed anything so far. if i was reeeally analysing i'd say i've had 2 broken nights sleep the past few nights where i've struggled to doze back off which is quite rare for me and my appetite was raging yesterday but other than that, business as usual over here!

looking forward to hearing from everyone else :)

SLK1990 · 08/09/2022 09:11

@eleveneleven11 @Hannargh @Shleepymummy @pugsB @Nypie

Morning all! 9dpo for me today, I've had on and off cramps and just a general niggly feeling in my stomach the past couple of days but I think I'm just hyper-analysing it. Had a really dry mouth last night and still here this morning.

I usually start spotting around 9dpo for a few days before my period so if I make it past today with none, I'm going to do a test tomorrow!

Shleepymummy · 08/09/2022 09:18

Morning all,
Im same as @eleveneleven11 3/4dpo. Not noticed anything different.
@SLK1990 exciting on the test tomorrow! What are everyone else’s plans? I’m personally going to wait until day of period, because seeing a negative test when there is hope always feels poo 😂 but I’ll see how strong I am in 7 days or so!

Hannargh · 08/09/2022 11:02

Not much to report here either - have had some aches across my hips since 2DPO but as I'm taking B6 I'm just assuming that's rising progesterone. 6DPO today and away over the weekend to see some friends and their toddler, which will be nice.
AF due on Wednesday so may test early next week just to see if anything has been going on. I've got a large stash of sensitive cheapies in the cupboard and it would be a shame not to try them out ...

Are you temping @SLK1990 ? Fingers crossed you get the chance to test tomorrow🤞

Shleepymummy · 08/09/2022 13:37

@Hannargh oooh talk to me about the B6, what does is help with, increasing progesterone? Assuming it’s just the supplement strength you buy in supermarket etc.

JoanHants · 08/09/2022 14:16

Hi all, mind if I join you? I`m currently on day 23 and 4 days PO and we have been ttc for over 4 years. We are currently going through IVF referral but at first glance there is nothing wrong with neither of us so we are still actively trying to have a baby naturally. We are both positive and very relaxed about the whole situation, no pressure or stress so that is good.

I had a HyCoSy done on cd 15 this month (all went perfect, I felt absolutely nothing, the doctor was amazing and my tubes are fine, also I have many healthy follicles, a healthy thick lining and saw the dominant follicle) and hoping that by any miracle this will be the month I will see the two lines after having this procedure, I read about other women falling pregnant shortly after..

Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone and lots of baby dust!

Hannargh · 08/09/2022 14:28

@Shleepymummy well from what I've read it can help increase progesterone in the LP, so I've been taking it since ovulation. But I don't know if that checks out all the time, every time - more just from what I've pieced together. But apparently it can improve your uterine lining and promote progesterone production. It's one of the key vitamins in all the combined conception supplements, but I've not been taking a combined one. I've got a high strength B6 from Holland and Barrett (100mg), which is probably overkill. I've just been taking 1 a day but I think some studies recommend more if you are missing b6 foods in your diet (salmon, eggs, carrots).

Hannargh · 08/09/2022 14:33

Hi @JoanHants - you're very welcome here. I'm sorry it's been such a long journey for you but glad to hear that in theory everything is looking good - hopefully this will be your month!
If you don't mind my asking, have you had any pregnancies since ttc? It's good to hear you and your partner have been able to stay positive and relaxed.

ttcfirstbaby90 · 08/09/2022 14:37

Hi all,
I've been stalking this thread since the beginning hope you don't mind me jumping in.
I'm 31 hoping to conceive my first, and just starting cycle number 3 for my first, I have long cycles typically 35 days so I have a long month ahead. CD2 currently and everything is irritating me. This will be my first cycle where I track ovulation with CB OPK and temps as I naively thought it was very straight forward conceiving haha. Not really done any prep besides taking folic acid.

I don't remember ever being told you only have a 20% chance each cycle in sex ed. 😂😫

Anyhow just thought I'd say hello and I'm hoping to see more bfps on this thread. 🤞🏻

JoanHants · 08/09/2022 14:38

Thank you @Hannargh I appreciate it!
I have never been pregnant, I have never seen a positive test, not even the faintest line. It will be quite surreal when it happens!

The next step for me will be hysteroscopy before we can proceed with IVF, my husbands tests all came back normal. Keeping my fingers crossed I will not have to do IVF, but we will see!

SLK1990 · 08/09/2022 14:41

@Hannargh no not temping yet, do you? This is my second month using OPKs so not sure I need anything else to obsess over yet 😂but might give it a go for the next cycle to see if it helps pinpoint ovulation! What cheapie tests do you have? That's what I'll start with tomorrow, don't want to waste a frer this early!

@JoanHants Welcome! You have a great outlook on it and I'm really crossing my fingers for you this month!
