I don’t know what I’m doing with the emojis this month. Got the star signs in there though!

Cycle 10 for me 😀

Best of luck to everyone!

@Foreverhopeful92 yup I never realised until I was ttc #1 6 years ago. I think we all are led to believe we can just get pregnant if you're not using contraception and it felt crazy there was only a few days a month it could actually happen. I learned so much about my body etc at that time. I'm cycle 3 and on CD8. I am expecting to get my peak over the weekend if like last cycle. It took 4 cycles last time so am hoping it's similar this time round but now I'm older I feel it could be longer

Foreverhopeful92 · 12/08/2022 14:53

@EdinburghGirl1 Aw fingers crossed for you! Then you’ll be into the TWW! Best of luck!!!

NatGee · 12/08/2022 15:03

@Foreverhopeful92 haha we'll see! DH is looking forward to it, let's see for how long
@EdinburghGirl1 I learnt loads too, like so much, I feel like this knowledge will be so useful to prevent pregnancies as well and not rely so much on medication

SidSparrow · 12/08/2022 16:58

Hi, just come over from April.

Really hoping May is the month! So will need to be at it like rabbits, legs up after and lots of hoping.

Good luck to everyone!

BiscuitLover3678 · 12/08/2022 17:04

Hi everyone! Despite creating this thread I’ve been awol again because we all caught covid. Finally recovered but according to my old cycle I am out of fertile period. We only DTD once and the next days was so ill so don’t have much hope at all. Might try and DTD again next few days just in case it’s changed!

Next month is going to be hard again as we’re away all fertile week and will be sharing a room with my son!! We will have family in the rest of the house so can’t even go anywhere else πŸ˜‚ really not on our side this TTC lark!

Welcome @Foreverhopeful92 🀍 I've stocked up on Easy@Home OPKs and their HCGs as they're supposed to be quite sensitive. CD6, a few days before I start with the OPKs I think. X

Aurora81 · 12/08/2022 17:40

@anotherscroller sorry to see you here πŸ˜₯Welcome to the May thread πŸ’ I hope it will be a lucky one for you!

@Foreverhopeful92 Welcome to the May thread πŸ’I use the CB opk and the cheapies. The CB opk is great as it tells you when you get the estrogen surge, and it lines up with the beginning of EWCM. They are pricey but I buy them when they are on offer on Amazon.

@Mummyme87 my cheapie opk went from barely no line cd11 to a high then a peak on cd12. Did you test again? I tested when I finished work and my opk is just a bit lighter than the high I got yesterday, I am still getting pains on my both my left side and my right side, so I don't know right now what's going on. I definitely had a restless night, so I will see what my bbt is tomorrow.

@NatGee we dtd cd 8, cd 10, cd 12 (peak), and cd 13. I don't know if my DH will have the stamina in this heat for dtd again tomorrow πŸ˜†

Aurora81 · 12/08/2022 18:04

@SidSparrow I literally had my legs up the last two times dtd and it's not entirely comfortable in the heatπŸ˜†Welcome to the May thread πŸ’

@BiscuitLover3678 I am so sorry to hear you were unwell. Normal Vit D levels are being associated with boasting the immune system. I say improvise while while away... feign a headache and let himself check on you πŸ˜‰

@CDD1992 I bought the easy@home bundle too...50 opks and 20 hcg tests πŸ˜„how was your temp this morning?

@EdinburghGirl1 you never know! My cycle is a bit different this cycle and I hope yours is better too πŸ˜ƒ

Mummyme87 · 12/08/2022 18:10

@Aurora81 i did another this afternoon and was exactly the same, maybe will do one when I get home from swimming with the kids, but will need to be on it tomorrow to check as always forget my mid morning opk when working

Aurora81 · 12/08/2022 18:20

@Mummyme87 I set an alarm on my phone when I am at work to remind me. I am lucky that I can go home for lunch and check at home. I once had an opk fall out of my hands at work and it fell down the sink... πŸ˜“I couldn't get it back out and I was like OMG I hope it doesn't block the sink because the plumber will find it 😯

CDD1992 · 12/08/2022 18:47

@Aurora81 back down to 36.32 this morning πŸ™ˆ no idea what that random spike was but as long as it calms down now and gives me a clear sign of ovulation I don't mind. How are you doing?

NSx · 12/08/2022 18:54

@CDD1992 many things can affect bbt - so don’t worry πŸ˜… when I drink alcohol it goes right up, so I’m not drinking much this cycle to see a accurate chart

NatGee · 12/08/2022 19:00

@CDD1992 yup, I second that @NSx. I drank this week and my BBT shot right up, so ill be laying off the booze. Stress too and i'm sure the fact its so bloody hot doesnt help! hopefully you still have a few days before your estrogen begins to rise so you get a nice clear progression on your chart? xx

Aurora81 · 12/08/2022 19:34

@CDD1992 mine spiked this morning too, but I didn't sleep well and my dh was snoring 😴 so I literally don't know if I ovulated after getting a peak yesterday. Hopefully my bbt will level out... that's great that it's back to normal 😊 so many factors affect bbt so I wouldn't stress too much about it.

CDD1992 · 12/08/2022 20:11

@Aurora81 @NSx yeah you're right and it's only my second cycle tracking BBT so I don't have much to go on. This could be normal for me who knows πŸ₯΄ no alcohol for me, I'm not a big drinker anyway. Has a couple on CD28 when I got my BFN and ended up on the kareokee (absolute first and last I don't know what got in to me) but trying to make better choices with good, alcohol etc whilst still living a nice life x

NSx · 12/08/2022 20:26

@CDD1992 it was my birthday month last month and I went on holiday too so it was hard to make sensible choices with alcohol πŸ˜‚ as I also attended two concerts …
but this month I’ve totally cut back because my BBT was majorly affected when I would wake up with a bit of a hangover lol πŸ˜‚

CDD1992 · 12/08/2022 20:39

@NSx it was mine too πŸ’— my 30th. Since we decided to try for a baby we've been on holiday and had my 30th so maybe I could have made better choices but you have to live a little! Going away again in October (due to fly AF due which isn't annoying at all!!) x

Mummyme87 · 13/08/2022 07:02

CD13 today and got a static smiley on CB digi. Did a cheapie opk also and was very dark I would say almost the same colour as the control but premom as put it at 0.78 low πŸ₯΄ anyhow. I’ll test a few times today to monitor it

EdinburghGirl1 · 13/08/2022 08:13

@Mummyme87 I got my flashing smiley today too CD9. I had my peak CD10 last month so looking like it will be similar this month. This is clearly my normal cycle now after coming off pill in June.

So interesting how many things like alcohol affect your bbt. I don't temp though. I have had a few drinks this last week as it's pre ovulation but won't be having any more now it's approaching.

Orangesaretheonly · 13/08/2022 08:25

Sadly I think I've had a chemical pregnancy so am back on the ttc train. Tested positive weds and Friday on a cb digital but started to have some cramping and spotting which got a bit heavier overnight.

But I don't really know what this meant for ttc. Is this classed as my period? When should I start tracking again? This hasn't happened to me before and I don't really have anyone to talk to and ask irl so I'm feeling a bit lost. Would appreciate any advice. πŸ’œ

NatGee · 13/08/2022 08:38

@Orangesaretheonly oh, I'm not going to commiserate just yet! Spotting can happen, I'm sure I read it can even get a little heavy although it shouldn't. Have you done another pregnancy test? I don't have experience of CPs but should the hcg take a wee while to leave your body? I hope there are other ladies who may know more than me !! Sending lots of virtual hugs πŸ«‚

I haven't done another test yet. I've been manically googling which helped then didn't!It started spotting fairly light but overnight has gotten heavier. Going to try and get a referral to epau next week and see if I can get a scan so I know either way. But my heart is saying no. Never been through this before so I'm completely clueless. Thank you for the reply xx

EdinburghGirl1 · 13/08/2022 08:43

@Orangesaretheonly I'm sorry to hear your bleeding. I don't have any experience of CP so don't have much advise but didn't want to not say anything. I know bleeding can happen in early pregnancy though. As @NatGee said maybe try another test

NatGee · 13/08/2022 08:53

@Orangesaretheonly our feelings can be so misleading and sometimes we expect the worst. I am sorry I can't help more but try not to despair. If you can get to epau, do. If it is bad news perhaps you will want to know ASAP so you have a chance at the next cycle πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—

Aurora81 · 13/08/2022 10:24

@Orangesaretheonly I am so sorry to hear that you are going through this. I had a chemical pregnancy a few months ago, and the only way I knew was when I did a another test, it was more faint. I also went to my GP and they did a blood test to check my hcg levels. Lots of women bleed in early pregnancy, so if I were you I would do another test, and hopefully there will be a nice strong line. I am afraid it's really the only way to know right now. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
