Hi ladies, we're onto thread 5! I'm afraid I've completely lost track of the list since I took a break off Mumsnet.... so let's make an updated one!

Roll call for those

  • TTC graduates.... pregnant ladies who are you and when are you due? Hope you're all doing well
  • Actively trying.... what cycle are we all in? Any particular plans for this next one?
  • Waiting to TTC.... what month are you planning on starting?

@LucyLoopyLu @Theawkwardblonde @HeathenPlayingHouse
Thank you all xx

And because the schools are out I can hear other people's kids in the neighbourhood playing and it's hard. Sounds of kids laughing and having a blast just make me long for it more. It taunts me. You can do everything right, or at least on the outset it appears right, but it doesn't mean it'll work. It's utter shit.

LauraA31 · 28/07/2022 10:11

Morning ladies!

CD5 and AF has fully left the building!
Predicted ovulation date is next Thursday, Premom telling me to start using ovulation tests today so going to do that mid afternoon.

We have got pre-seed ready and waiting and boyfriend is eager to start DTD, i am working tonight so going to start tomorrow every other day until fertile window. Got my smear on Monday so hoping that doesn’t impact things too much but it’s before ovulation!

Fingers crossed to everybody this month! X

polkadotdasies88 · 28/07/2022 10:12

@SarahShorty Sending you hugs ❤️ I'm the only one out of all my friends not pregnant, it is really hard. Of course I'm genuinely happy for them all but it does make my heart ache when I'm receiving all their updates & knowing I'm going to have all these bundles of joy to meet and not knowing if / when it'll be us. The witch is a nasty bi* for sure!

polkadotdasies88 · 28/07/2022 10:16

I had a similar reaction to my husband when he came home from the gym barely able to walk & said he wasn't sure if he could manage to DTD 😂 My hormones just seem to have gone mad with ovulation so I did not react well 🙈
If we're not successful this cycle next cycle around ovulation time he's banned from working out 😂😂

Dreamingof3 · 28/07/2022 10:28

@polkadotdasies88 @Tropicana1 absolutely understand this, my oh would claim to be too tired and it wound me up no end. Actually once he was too full 😂 and that earned him a full day's silent treatment

SarahShorty · 28/07/2022 11:03

@polkadotdasies88 Aww, sending you hugs back ❤Hopefully our turn will be here soon xx

polkadotdasies88 · 28/07/2022 13:14

@Dreamingof3 @Tropicana1 Being too full is definitely something my OH would say, he loves his food! I'll be on the watch out for that now thanks 😂

Tropicana1 · 28/07/2022 14:51

@Dreamingof3 @polkadotdasies88 glad it's not just me 🤣

lj2022 · 28/07/2022 15:32

@Dreamingof3 @Tropicana1 these have given me a giggle and you both are not alone with the crazy reasons. I feel like the full Men want sex all the time really isn't true especially when it comes to actually having to DTD for TTC. I've had the "I just played football you picked the wrong time but you look amazing" after I bought a lovely new underwear set once. Safe to say I wasn't in the best of moods the rest of the night.

LucyLoopyLu · 28/07/2022 15:44

@lj2022 omg shot down when you'd gone to all that effort! I don't think I would have been best pleased about that

HeathenPlayingHouse · 28/07/2022 15:54

CD15 and it's a negative OPK yet again. On the brighter side of things, I had a negative lateral flow test as well, but I've lost the mood to DTD.

There's always next month.

SVC11 · 28/07/2022 16:15

@HeathenPlayingHouse i just got my positive yesterday at CD18 which I think is the latest I've ever got it... And seeing as I usually have a 24 day cycle I'm not holding out much hope. Also my temperature didn't rise this morning on bbt, but I did get huge ovulation pain yesterday... Like I almost felt an egg pop out haha... But yeah bbt getting me down, maybe I didn't ovulate 🤷‍♀️... My point was, hopefully you'll get. A positive opk soon and you get a longer cycle. Do you test morning and afternoon, I tend to have a quick rise and drop so have to be careful not to miss it? X

HeathenPlayingHouse · 28/07/2022 16:53

@SVC11 I have been testing morning and afternoon, yesterday I tested evening as well. It gets a little darker but then the line disappears the next time.

Either way I'm not really feeling it with this cough I've picked up, hard to feel sexy when you're out of breath half the time haha!

Bananatoast123 · 28/07/2022 17:12

@lj2022 I’ve 100% done the same with the underwear ha!!

So ending up chatting to my neighbour who had identical twins at 36 and was like us, super eager and really wanted it to happen, trying everything etc! Her advice was to book something you really want to do in 3-6 months time that you wouldn’t be able to do if you’re pregnant. She said either you’ll end up being able to do it and have the time of your life or be pregnant! Win win 🤣 she said she also tried to manifest it all by knitting a blanket before she was pregnant (and then had to knit another 😂)! Found it quite a positive way of thinking so wanted to share incase it helps anyone!

SarahShorty · 28/07/2022 17:15

@Bananatoast123 That's made me feel better! Thank you for sharing xx

HippeePrincess · 28/07/2022 22:08

Congratulations @WingingIt09 , fingers all crossed for you for a sticky one!

Currently 12 weeks with #3 (DP’s #1) due 5.2.22, had our scan earlier in the week and just waiting for screening results back.

Anna531 · 29/07/2022 00:51

Hi ladies ... having a moment and thought it odd the last thread was so quiet 😂🙈

I'm 35 and August will be cycle 1 TTC #1, my OH works away so it's the first proper month dates will work out. Super excited and been following along learning from you ladies and figuring my cycle out. Used OPKs last month and it worked out as I expected getting positive mid cycle but this month its like its teasing me. Currently CD21 and every morning a low reading that pushes my predicted date back another day.
At this rate if the same happens next month it'll push me right back into when he's away again.
I'm going to stick with it, and hopefully it'll work itself out by next month.
Makes it more stressful we had to work out dates when he's home and the last few months having to skip whole cycles because he's away.

Nypie · 29/07/2022 01:10

Just popped into check on @WingingIt09 journey...I knew that was a line!! Congrats!

Didn't realise we were on a new thread I'm still here lurking! Ttc#1 first cycle should have ovulated tomorrow 🤞can't be arsed to try another day I need sleep 4 days is surely enough!

Is anyone else just entering TTW?

LorrenK · 29/07/2022 01:27

Hi all, actively TTC, cycle 1, baby number 1… eeeeeek

EdinburghGirl1 · 29/07/2022 06:15

@Anna531 good luck for your first cycle and hopefully you get your positive OPK soon

WingingIt09 · 29/07/2022 09:00

@Nypie @HippeePrincess thank you :) done another one this morning. A bit concerned that it's a bit faint for the day after a missed period but there is progression on each test so hopefully ok! Just very anxious with my history.

Good luck for your first cycles @Anna531 @LorrenK @Nypie x

@WingingIt09 definite progression!! Keeping everything crossed for you!

I've woken up feeling particularly cranky with my lovely OH this morn. frustrated because i think we've just gone my ovulation and still using condoms. frustrated that we'll probably only have 2 or 3 more chances to try before 'pausing' ahead of our wedding (so thats either pausing for a year till post wedding or pausing for a handful of months and risk being pregnant at the wedding which i had said i really didnt want). Plus with the endo I had to have surgery the last two years and my consultant basically said for the next year or so we shouldnt have any issues, but after that could struggle based on my rate of disease return and i might need another surgery for us to have success. Im sick of surgeries! Put so much weight on after the last two and im so worried that by the time he does want to TTC sex will be really painful again (one of my worst symptoms, basically couldnt have it, it was so painful). starting to regret having my coil out and we're only one month in.

I dont know how to communicate any of this without it pressuring him. this is meant to be the fun and exciting part. i dont want to make him feel bad or agree when he doesnt really want to. He's the sweetest kindest human ive ever known and supported me through so much. I'm just starting to feel quite down about it all.

sorry for the word vomit.

dobby13 · 29/07/2022 11:17

@WingingIt09 - I can see the progression!! Have everything 🤞🏻🤞🏻 for you still.

@DanisEndo - so sorry to hear that you're feeling frustrated. It is just that he's not ready yet? It can't help that you're feeling so much time pressure with both the endo and your wedding 😞. Never apologise for word vomit - that's why these groups are here!!!

LorrenK · 29/07/2022 11:45

@Anna531 my testing kits say to check in the afternoon unlike HCG. I actually tested twice a day during my window and got a negative one morning then a positive OPK that evening so might be worth testing twice incase you miss it.

mmp22 · 29/07/2022 12:17

Hi All

I am 27 and TTC baby #1, we are on our 4th cycle. This time i have been doing OPKs but wanted your thoughts on if you think i have already ovulated or not? I try to take them around my second wee of the day every time. I think i may have peaked on CD14 but not sure…
