Preparing to TTC in 2022 - part 5

1000 replies

WingingIt09 · 25/07/2022 14:45

Hi ladies, we're onto thread 5! I'm afraid I've completely lost track of the list since I took a break off Mumsnet.... so let's make an updated one!

Roll call for those

  • TTC graduates.... pregnant ladies who are you and when are you due? Hope you're all doing well
  • Actively trying.... what cycle are we all in? Any particular plans for this next one?
  • Waiting to TTC.... what month are you planning on starting?

Thanks so much @WingingIt09 for taking on all the admin!

See lots of people referencing very noticeable EWCM and concerned that I don’t seem to experience this. Without wanting to be too graphic it’s not like the Sahara desert down there! And do feel more…er… lubricated around ovulation. But I don’t think I ever produce anything stringy or stretchy. Just obviously now worrying that despite timing everything to a tee and DTD lots the little guys might not stand a chance if they can’t slide on through! Anyone else experience this?

Chanteuse · 27/07/2022 17:23

Had my coil out yesterday and had some spotting, then today I’ve had proper flow, could be a withdrawal bleed? Sorry if this sounds silly but do I then count today as CD1? Thanks everyone 💕

SarahShorty · 27/07/2022 17:46

@MoorlandFlower I thought much the same as I don't recall seeing much in the way of EWCM this cycle either. I think it does depend on the cycle as each one is different in some way. The cervix has always got mucus in the opening in the middle and as long as that's watery around ovulation, it'll be fine for all the swimmers to get through. I try to get erm... very in the mood (sorry if TMI) because I want to avoid needing lubrication when getting all the swimmers up and through. I hear oil-based is better than water-based, but the more natural the better, if possible.

MoorlandFlower · 27/07/2022 18:09

Thanks @SarahShorty for the reassurance and likewise have ditched all added lubes, even saliva as read that can hinder the swimmers. And you’re right that it’s likely just up there rather than making a more obvious appearance, just wish it was easier to have a look and check - was even contemplating buying a speculum but figured that was definitely going overboard and my OH would worry I’d totally lost the plot haha

LucyLoopyLu · 27/07/2022 18:56

@MoorlandFlower you could always try preseed lube if you're worried. I haven't tried it myself but considering it. It's meant to be sperm friendly

lj2022 · 27/07/2022 20:22

@LucyLoopyLu welcome to the TWW hope it goes quickly for you 🤞 mines is luckily going quickly so far but no doubt will drag next week as I'm off work! Due AF between Tuesday and Thursday next week and really trying to mentally prepare myself for it arriving already

SarahShorty · 27/07/2022 20:37

The witch got me 😞In a fit of rage, I grabbed the negative FRER sat on top of the toilet and threw it full-pelt into the bin.

Onto the next cycle.

EdinburghGirl1 · 27/07/2022 20:40

@lj2022 I'm due similar time to you. That's good the tww has gone quickly so far. I think the next few days are going to drag for me. Got some things planned in for the weekend though so should keep me occupied hopefully

dobby13 · 27/07/2022 20:40

@SarahShorty - that sucks, I'm sorry 😞

EdinburghGirl1 · 27/07/2022 20:41

@SarahShorty sorry to hear this. Hope you're ok. Don't blame you for the reaction

lj2022 · 27/07/2022 20:43

@EdinburghGirl1 hopefully the weekend helps pass the time. Having plans is always helpful. I don't have much on this weekend so hoping it doesn't start to drag

@SarahShorty sorry to hear this hope you're okay and look after yourself! It's normal to feel different emotions make sure you take the day or two to feel how you feel

PinkButtercups · 27/07/2022 21:10

Ohhh @WingingIt09 congratulations! I knew I saw a line.

WingingIt09 · 27/07/2022 21:11

@SarahShorty I'm so sorry. Take care of yourself xxx

@dobby13 it really is rotten. Thanks, though xx It makes me more determined to succeed.

@EdinburghGirl1 thank you xx I'm okay. Just had a long, hard cry and punched my pillow a few times. I don't have anger issues or anything, I just really thought this was the one.

@lj2022 thanks xx I'll be alright. A good cry to get it out of my system usually works wonders.

@WingingIt09 Thanks xx It's okay. It's just life. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it crap. I don't drink, so probably just loads of chocolate and cuddles with my cats. If they let me, that is!

I just hold on to what my fertility consultant told me; I can get pregnant, it's just that the odds just plain suck. 30% chance in any given cycle and 15% chance of a conception making it to term. My cycles are roughly 5 weeks long, so it feels like forever. In 4 months' time I'll be 35 😬 Just have to press on.

Bananatoast123 · 27/07/2022 21:40

@SarahShorty ahhhh that’s rubbish! So sorry AF got you too! It’s the worst feeling. Guess you’ll be joining me in our cycles so I’ll be here to cheer you along and manifest for us that it’s our positive cycle now!

SarahShorty · 27/07/2022 21:45

@Bananatoast123 Yes! Bring it on! xx

LucyLoopyLu · 27/07/2022 21:55

Sorry @SarahShorty, that's rubbish. Definitely need to stay strong and stay away from Google! Hope you're ok.

@lj2022 thanks! I think AF is due on 10th Aug according to my app. I feel like that might come around quickly because I'm busy at work although maybe not! The weekend of 6th/7th I will probably feel a bit twitchy. This weekend I am having a really chilled one and looking forward to it!

polkadotdasies88 · 27/07/2022 22:57

This might sound like a silly question 😂 But this is my first cycle, I've had two days of positive OPKs, and have DTD twice, once before the positive and today whilst positive, also aiming for tomorrow too. Is the 2WW from this week, or two weeks from the first positive OPK? I'm guessing I'll know ovulation is over when the OPks are negative and the other symptoms have gone. I really appreciate chatting to other ladies who are going through the same, it's a lot to get your head around!

Tropicana1 · 27/07/2022 23:01

@WingingIt09 yay congratulations!! 🥰

Slight alteration for your list I'm actually TTC #2 :)

WingingIt09 · 27/07/2022 23:01

@Tropicana1 whoops sorry! All changed :)

Theawkwardblonde · 28/07/2022 05:56

@SarahShorty sorry AF arrived.

@LemonZestDribbles thanks! I'm hoping we made the right decision. We're still a bit shocked as we just assumed it would take ages to conceive like it did first time around.

@WingingIt09 thanks for the updated list!

EdinburghGirl1 · 28/07/2022 06:19

@polkadotdasies88 you tend to ovulate 12-48 hours after a positive result so you could have ovulated yesterday and maybe today but it's only temping that can confirm when ovulation has taken place.

polkadotdasies88 · 28/07/2022 06:50

@EdinburghGirl1 Ah thanks , I'll have to invest in a BT for next cycle ☺️

Tropicana1 · 28/07/2022 08:19

Got in a right hump with DH last night / this morning because he was "too tired" to DTD and now got my peak this morning. Told him and he was like, oh it's fine we've got today and tomorrow then. I just went "we'll see.. not holding my breath" 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ don't know why I'm being so mardy really it's not like we've missed it missed it, he's just pissed me off i think haha

HeathenPlayingHouse · 28/07/2022 08:30

@SarahShorty Sorry the witch came!
