Hi everyone,

I thought I would make a thread for those who are trying to conceive their first child.

I love reading about everyone's journey, but sometimes I just need a space where I can talk to others who are dreaming of their first bundle of joy 💫

I am 31 and on cycle #8. My periods were classed as irregular but since having the coil removed, they seem to have settled and I now have 30-33 day cycles. I threw my OPKs in the bin this month, they were stressing me out and after DTD on my peaks but getting AF's just upset me even more. I am hoping to take a more relaxed approach from now on.

Sending love and hope to everyone on their unique journeys 💖

@itsnearlymytime we just need to keep my mind occupied for the next 2 weeks. I feel excited but also don’t want to get my hopes up, I feel dread and excitement if that makes sense.

ah that sounds more chilled, think we’ll try that next cycle if no luck this time round.

aw that would be lovely, wonderful Father’s Day gift. My partner is in the army and is away for a 3 weeks after this weekend so hopefully I have good news when he’s back home :) xxx

itsnearlymytime · 05/06/2022 21:55

@Abbylouise777 100%! Honestly that's how it is for sure, it is tough because it's all you think about when you want it xx

100% that would be lovely! gosh it's so hard though, Im just hoping this is the month but we will see! I'm just worried 3 times having sex won't be enough xx

newbiegreenfingers · 05/06/2022 22:24

Hello! I’d like to join too please. I’m 32 and on cycle 9 or 10 now, honestly I’ve lost count.

I’m 6DPO too, so hi cycle sisters!

@Abbylouise777 I use Natural Cycles too. I really like it, and it’s taught me a lot about my body and ttc.

I don’t have any advise for the poster asking about staying sane each cycle. I think @SFrancis1 said it best, we should enjoy what we can before babies come and change everything!

I know at least 2 people who got pregnant immediately. One of which has PCOS and was told she would struggle to get pregnant. I’m so happy for her, but at the same time I think “if she can do it, why not me?!”

Drf · 06/06/2022 09:32

I was at a wedding last night and missed all the comments so just catching up now. @Sunshine3295 I know exactly what you mean... I was just certain it would happen first time because... why the hell wouldn't it?! We're heathly, we DTD at the right time, I've been off the pill for years, so surely it should happen right? So then when it didn't my mind just jumped to 'thats it, we're gonna be infertile and this is going to take forever'
But I can only imagine how hard it must be on top of a MC.

Cant wait to see some BFPs on this thread!

Nina202 · 06/06/2022 11:51

I was so the same as you @Drf and @Sunshine3295 I had my implant out in February and just thought I’d be pregnant the next week! Now it’s ovulation day in cycle 4 and I’m really hoping this will be the month even though it’s still really relatively early in the journey. I feel so jealous of the people that it happens to quickly. Just can’t help it. I passed my driving test first time so kinda expected this to happen first time too 😂

Fingers crossed for everyone on this thread that we start to see BFPs soon 🤞

Drf · 06/06/2022 12:01

Here's hoping @Nina202 🤞🤞 its so hard not to feel twinges of envy and sadness, but it WILL happen!

It's the hardest journey to be on isn't it! Some days are better than others! But mostly just so draining! And everywhere I look there's announcements it's turning me into such a negative Nancy!!😂

Nina202 · 06/06/2022 12:17

@Drf thanks for the positivity! Need it on this rainy Monday ❤️

Nina202 · 06/06/2022 12:21

@Sunshine3295 It really can be so draining. Have to remind myself sometimes that it’s all supposed to be fun!

Hey!☺️ This is our first month TTC baby number 1! I can’t believe I can actually say that, does anyone else feel like they’ve been waiting to TTC forever 😂 I’ve not told anyone we’re trying so it can be a surprise but I honestly want to burst, not sure how long I’ll be able to hold out!

fingers crossed for us all to have 2023 babies💜

itsnearlymytime · 06/06/2022 18:50

@ChloeN oh my gosh even 3 cycles in I can't believe we're trying after waiting for years!! Good luck this cycle lovely! When are you due to ovulate ?

ChloeN · 06/06/2022 19:20

@itsnearlymytime thank you🥰 glad it’s not just me who feels that way!😂 I’m just using an app this month so not sure how accurate it is but going off that it should be tomorrow!

SFrancis1 · 06/06/2022 19:21

@itsnearlymytime Welcome to the thread 💖

@newbiegreenfingers Welcome to the thread 💖 We are in the same stages of our journey. How are you finding it so far?

It sounds like some ladies cycles are roughly the same dates - I am glad we are all buildng a support network with people who are on similar journeys 😊

Where are the newbies to the thread based? We currently cover Ireland, Switerzland, Australia and England 🌍

I'm 8dpo today and I try - as usual - not to symptom spot. I hve AF style cramps since a day or two, too early as AF shouldn't arrive until Friday or Saturday. I also got a metallic taste after drinking and sometimes eating, which I only had when I got my BFP that ended up being an ectopic, but I had it some cycles in the TWW since without a BFP.
How are you ladies?

itsnearlymytime · 06/06/2022 19:27

@ChloeN definitely varies from person to person, the past two months I've ovulated and got my peak when I was supposed to to ovulate alongside what the app says! So I hope it's the same this month as I wanted to give myself a break from using OPK's as I was testing every wee 😂

@SFrancis1 thank you so much!! I'm from England, it's so nice having other people to talk to, I don't really want to tell anyone around me that we've started trying!

Drf · 06/06/2022 19:38

@Bundaberg84 you're right alongside the 7DPO crew we seem to have here! I'm driving myself to distraction symptom spotting over here. Even though i know its far too early and I'm convinced I've been too unwell this month for any sperm to stick I can't stop holding my breath every time I have a tummy twinge! 🙈

I'm 6dpo today so we are similar! Been feeling so bloated today which is really unlike me until AF actually arrives. Going to try and hold off testing until the weekend though! A metallic taste is a great sign right?! Fingers crossed for you!

newbiegreenfingers · 06/06/2022 21:04

@SFrancis1 thank you! I am in England.

@Bundaberg84 omg I'm terrible for symptom spotting. Today I smelt something like someone had shat on the kitchen floor, but hubby had just opened a Tupperware box of cooked chicken. It was the 3rd time in the last couple something has smelt super strong and unpleasant. It's tenuous though I feel like though! A metallic taste is a good sign, fingers crossed for you.

I've got Love Island to keep my mind off it all now at least Smile

Bundaberg84 · 06/06/2022 21:39

@Drf seems like we're pretty synched ;) must be a good sign!

@newjourney21 I'm trying not to test unless I'm a day overdue - unless I got an invitation that includes after work drinks or something like that... Fingers crossed for you too!🤞

@newbiegreenfingers Haha I'm similar, I always ask people around me: Do you smell that as well? And then I'm disappointed if they do 😅

RMS0209 · 07/06/2022 11:27

@SFrancis1 I have gave you a message back, so sorry I never noticed I had one Smile x

newbiegreenfingers · 07/06/2022 18:53

Who else is struggling not to take a pregnancy test right now? AF isn't due for another 3 or 4 days but I'm itching for a little test.

Drf · 07/06/2022 19:20

@newbiegreenfingers the temptation is real. I have a long way to go, only 8dpo, but my goodness I want to test! I even opened up my Boots tests there and there were 3 tests instead of 2, I was like come onnnnn that's a sign to test now 🤣 but I managed to stop myself.
I'm so excited to see some BFPs on this thread, I feel like even if I don't get mine ill be spurred on when you guys do 🤞
