Hi everyone,

I thought I would make a thread for those who are trying to conceive their first child.

I love reading about everyone's journey, but sometimes I just need a space where I can talk to others who are dreaming of their first bundle of joy 💫

I am 31 and on cycle #8. My periods were classed as irregular but since having the coil removed, they seem to have settled and I now have 30-33 day cycles. I threw my OPKs in the bin this month, they were stressing me out and after DTD on my peaks but getting AF's just upset me even more. I am hoping to take a more relaxed approach from now on.

Sending love and hope to everyone on their unique journeys 💖

(Although, saying that, my app is wrong 99% of the time, I just use it for recording purposes!)

RMS0209 · 05/06/2022 09:16

@Drf 🙂 says I am due the 13th but I tend to spot for 1/2 days before she arrives so.. we will see! Don't worry my app is normally wrong aswell. I should cut down I have about 4 😂🤞🏻
What cycle is this for you? X

db91 · 05/06/2022 09:21

Hi 👋🏼 I'm new here, can I join? this is my first cycle TTC #1 - what a mind field all of this!

Currently 6DPO so joining @RMS0209 & @Drf in their cycles 😂

We've not told anyone we are TTC so I've found myself on these forums trying to find answers to lots of questions & so far have been really useful!

Drf · 05/06/2022 11:30

Haha @db91, welcome to the club! aw I so hope we all get some good news in a weeks time 🤞

Sunshine3295 · 05/06/2022 11:39

Hi 👋🏼 really looking for some positivity! Fell pregnant first time trying in late December, had a mc in February, and BFN’s one after another ever since then. I don’t know why but AF arriving today has really got to me more than any other I can’t stop crying I really really thought this cycle was the one. I thought we’d timed it to perfection. A million opk’s, bbt thermometers, all the apps and still nothing. Feeling so disheartened 😢

SFrancis1 · 05/06/2022 12:24

@db91 Welcome to the thread. Good luck on your journey 💖

@Sunshine3295 Welcome to the thread. Sorry to hear about your mc and you are finding it hard at the moment - thank you for sharing. I felt the same last weekend, I followed the apps, I checked with OPKs and we DTD when we were meant to, but nothing. AF arrived 2 days later than the app predicted - I cried all afternoon/evening and the next morning. It got to me. In this cycle, I binned the OPKs and deleted the apps. I am going to be ignorant of it all and see if I can relax 🤞

Hi ladies,
loved reading all your messages, wondered if I could join 🥰. This is our first month TTC #1, came off the pill in November and started natural cycles, does anyone else use this? Started using it to learn about my cycles, I’ve learnt I can have quite long cycles. I’m CD23 and just ovulated, now commencing the 2WW, how do you all keep yourself occupied whilst waiting, It’s so hard to not let it consume you.
lots of love and baby dust to you all 💖💖💖

Thank you xx it's just so draining, for me it's the not knowing. Like will it ever happen? Should I keep trying or am I wasting my time. Sorry for the negativity :( ttc is just such a hard cycle I darednt even let myself get my hopes up now xx

LolaGarden · 05/06/2022 13:54

Hello!
TTC for the first time, 4DPO and ridiculously tired although it's too early to have symptoms!

SFrancis1 · 05/06/2022 14:47

@Sunshine3295 Don't apologise for how you feel. Everyone's journey is unique to them. I understand how you feel about not knowing, it is driving me mad. I have booked a pelvic well-being scan for this cycle. It will take place around the time I am ovulating and look at my fallopian tubes and the thickness of my uterus. I just need reassurance that I am not wasting my time to be told in a year that I need help to fall pregnant, I would rather know now and act on it. The not knowing is my downfall in the journey.

@Abbylouise777 Welcome to the thread. I have read about natural cycles, but not used it. How are you finding it?

@RMS0209 sorry I just saw your message now! This is cycle #2 so it's very early days, I just naively assumed it would happen first time. Little did I know! I know we are very early and im in no position to moan, but I'm preparing myself for this to be a long road! My mum fell pregnant first time with both kids and her sister took 5 years per child. Everyone is just so so different and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to any of it! What cycle are you on?

Abbylouise777 · 05/06/2022 15:27

Yeah really enjoying natural cycles, you can use it to prevent pregnancy or to help you get pregnant and even tracks your pregnancy when you fall pregnant. I would recommend it ☺️
this is our first cycle so I’m trying not to get my hopes up anything happening right away haha.

I have an over active thyroid and have been on medication since before Christmas to try and get it in track. I have been assured that it is still possible to get pregnant and I know people say it's normal for it to take a year to conceive.... but why? If you're healthy and no problems it shouldn't be taking that long. Hmmmm I don't know

Thank you :) I'm on cycle 1 so brand new to this!

itsnearlymytime · 05/06/2022 20:41

Helloooo :)

I'm 24, cycle 3 TTC baby number 1! In the TWW now, can test 17th June! Very nervous

Abbylouise777 · 05/06/2022 21:00

Ah me too! I’m testing on the 18th June, so nerve wracking isn’t it! I’m trying not to overthink every single symptom

Abbylouise777 · 05/06/2022 21:00

itsnearlymytime · 05/06/2022 21:01

@Abbylouise777 ahh no way! How long is your cycle? Mines only 26 days so I only ovulated on Friday so no symptoms or anything yet for me xx

Abbylouise777 · 05/06/2022 21:10

@itsnearlymytime my cycles haven’t been regular but they are usually between 30 day and 33 days. How are you feeling? I’ve been having some mild dull cramping.
Fingers crossed for us and everyone else on this chat 🤞🏼🤞🏼

itsnearlymytime · 05/06/2022 21:12

@Abbylouise777 ohh okay! Yeah mine sometimes vary by a day but usually not more than that, it's been spot on for the past few months! Annoying when it varies isn't it!

Have you?? Eek hope it's a good sign for you! I haven't had any symptoms at all yet to be honest, I'm sure I will be symptom spotting this week but I've driven myself mad with it the last two months xx

Is 18th June the day your period is due or is it the earliest you can test xx

Abbylouise777 · 05/06/2022 21:29

@itsnearlymytime my period is due on the 18th June, we will have to wait and see.
ah how do you manage to stay sane, this is only our first month ttc 😅 I’m already driving myself mad with it all. It’s hard to forget about it isn’t it.
i need to stop googling symptoms haha!

itsnearlymytime · 05/06/2022 21:31

@Abbylouise777 oooh!! Eek, mines the same but knowing me I'll be testing at 10dpo 😂 honestly the past two months I've driven myself mental my partners told me I need to chill because I'll be constantly stressing and they say when you stress it makes it harder to conceive!!

How have you found this month, did you DTD every day? Xx

RMS0209 · 05/06/2022 21:34

@Drf hello! oh that's good, I am currently on cycle 6... hoping this is my last one! 🙂🤞🏻🤗 x

Abbylouise777 · 05/06/2022 21:44

@itsnearlymytime I’m going to get my partner to hide the pregnancy tests haha. I want to test and know for definite if I am or not, I don’t want to drive myself crazy looking for a line haha. But I know it’s so hard to resist. We did about 3 days consecutively and then went to every other day. How about you?
i really didn’t want it to become so regimented 😅 takes the fun out of it a bit doesn’t it x

itsnearlymytime · 05/06/2022 21:46

@Abbylouise777 to be fair I need my partner to do that too 😂😂

Oh 100% we have only done day before ovulation, day of ovulation and day after ovulation this month as honestly it was just making it like a bit of a chore so we will see if our chilled out approach helps this month xx

Really praying it's this month so I can do something for my dad on Father's Day xx
