Hi everyone,

I thought I would make a thread for those who are trying to conceive their first child.

I love reading about everyone's journey, but sometimes I just need a space where I can talk to others who are dreaming of their first bundle of joy 💫

I am 31 and on cycle #8. My periods were classed as irregular but since having the coil removed, they seem to have settled and I now have 30-33 day cycles. I threw my OPKs in the bin this month, they were stressing me out and after DTD on my peaks but getting AF's just upset me even more. I am hoping to take a more relaxed approach from now on.

Sending love and hope to everyone on their unique journeys 💖

Gizzy93 · 28/06/2022 22:30

Sorry to hear @Sunshine3295 😞

Magix86 · 28/06/2022 23:09

Hello all. Hoping I can join you please? TTC #1 since January and no luck so far. Finding it a bit stressful with OPK's and timing everything for the right days etc. Would be great to have somewhere to chat about it, so I can try to stay sane and stop symptom spotting!

Minamina · 28/06/2022 23:59

Hi there! wanted to hop on this thread! So many wonderful people here and a great community. I have been TTC for two years with PCOS. Going down the IVF route this summer. Wishing everyone little miracles
xx

Hey! I’m also 37 and ttc for the first time and am early on in my journey. Although I have regular 28 day cycles and get symptoms of Ovulation, the clear blue ovulation tests keep returning negative which is confusing !

Magix86 · 29/06/2022 17:54

@Lucyloocket I'm also confused by these! I've been using the clearblue tests for a few months and seem to have a regular 2 days of flashing smileys on day 8 and 9 and then a solid smiley on day 10. This month I had a flashing smiley day 6 so seemed very early. I do wonder if I end up ovulating a couple of days later than the sticks predict (if I go by cm I think a couple of days later around day 12/13 seems more likely). We generally dtd on the right days according to the opks so I'm wondering if somethings wrong...
Its strange your tests continue to be negative tho...what day do you start using them?

Lucyloocket · 29/06/2022 18:15

That’s so odd , maybe you do ovulate early? I use clue and take the test on my predicted ovulating days as I have a consistent 28 day cycle

Magix86 · 29/06/2022 18:32

Yep. My cycles are usually shorter, often 26 days but rarely get the occasional 28 day. So I guess it makes sense. Just makes it hard trying to dtd on the right days to make sure we do it early enough!

Lucyloocket · 29/06/2022 21:56

Makes me wonder if I should take the tests on every day just to be sure ? Because if I’m two days longer than you then I might test at 8 days into cycle ! Have you taken any supplements ? I’ve ordered one today on Amazon which is supposed to promote ovary health

Magix86 · 29/06/2022 23:18

I think the clearblue leaflet has a guide about which day to start testing depending on your cycle length. I was just curious after getting such a regular smiley on day 8 and knowing the first day you test is always going to be low as its resetting for the month, I wondered if I should start testing earlier.
I'm feeling some weird things today, almost as if my period is coming and lots more cm (sorry tmi) which makes me think I'm ovulating now!! 😮
I take wellwoman max supplements which has folic acid and b6 and I did think it was helping to lengthen my cycle a little but now I have no idea! Which ones have you ordered? And how long have you been ttc if you don't mind me asking? I know you said you are early on into your journey.

Magix86 · 29/06/2022 23:26

Sorry I should have added, today is cd7 for me. Have just finished a longer 28 day cycle with a shorter, 3 day period.
And to answer your question about testing every day - I think you should be testing daily until you see your peak! Just depends how early in the cycle you want to start lol...they aren't cheap and poas does get addictive - for me at least 🙈

carsty · 01/07/2022 17:40

hi all, how is everyone in there journey so far? Not sure if ive ovulated but today would be cd14/15. I did have ewcm around day 12/13...didnt chase hubby on dtd but i think we dtd 2 or 3 days in the window. i guess i can say i am now in my 2ww...all the best to us all

carsty · 01/07/2022 17:45

@Lucyloocket Hi there, what supplements will you be taking?...i am currently trying pregnacare before you conceive vitamins...im not really taking it everyday but more like every other day...seen some mixed reviews but just giving em a try...i noticed on days i take em my urine is bright yellow so probly too much vitamins...hence, why i dont take it daily

Gizzy93 · 02/07/2022 21:33

Coming into my fertile week and I'm sick! Stuffy nose, itchy throat, cough and a headache. I blame my partner, he was sick last week 😅

Gives me a chance to see if cough syrup actually helps with fertile cm haha.

LucyLoopyLu · 02/07/2022 22:34

@Gizzy93 I've never heard that! Is it just an old wives tale?

Hope you feel better soon

Gizzy93 · 02/07/2022 22:46

@LucyLoopyLu it must be, I saw it on tiktok, of all places, and did some googling. It's not proven or anything 😂

carsty · 02/07/2022 23:07

wow thats interesting @Gizzy93

Gizzy93 · 02/07/2022 23:47

I don't actually get a lot of fertile cm so it'll be interesting to see

You should try evening primrose oil :) take it up to ovulation only though

Lucyloocket · 05/07/2022 13:52

CoQ10 which promotes cell rejuvenation and can keep ovaries healthy . Got to make sure you get the high absorbtion ones so I did my research and got some from Amazon.

Hello all, could I join the club please?
I'm another one that's been with DH for many years but not in a position to start TTC until recently. I came off the pill earlier this year and so far no joy.
My natural periods are (and were before the pill too) quite spaced out so feels like I have fewer opportunities! I'm talking 6+ weeks. I don't think theres anything I can do to make it more frequent/increase my chances? (I regret seeing it as a blessing in my younger days).

Bookworm9319 · 05/07/2022 20:31

Now on CD17 and I usually ovulate on CD18 but haven’t had a peak LH test this cycle. There is a chance that I’ve missed it but my husband and I have been DTD pretty much every day this cycle so no biggie if I have missed the peak on OPKs! We’ll see in a few days if my temp rises. Will continue with the OPKs in the meantime. I have a totally obsessive personality so I knew I would be like this when we started trying but I don’t think it’s stressing me out, I think it just helps me feel in control?

Hope you’re all doing well and have some good luck this cycle 💕

Gizzy93 · 05/07/2022 21:56

Welcome @polka6. Have you spoken to a GP or anyone about the 6+ weeks long cycles? I think they would consider that irregular and look into why.

@pcosandme.x I'll definitely try it next cycle if this one isn't successful! Thanks 😊

I think i ovulated Monday or yesterday, my cm is gone. I still feel very sick though, so I hope it doesn't affect implantation. I feel like I need to sleep for a week to get rid of this cold!
