Hi everyone,

I thought I would make a thread for those who are trying to conceive their first child.

I love reading about everyone's journey, but sometimes I just need a space where I can talk to others who are dreaming of their first bundle of joy 💫

I am 31 and on cycle #8. My periods were classed as irregular but since having the coil removed, they seem to have settled and I now have 30-33 day cycles. I threw my OPKs in the bin this month, they were stressing me out and after DTD on my peaks but getting AF's just upset me even more. I am hoping to take a more relaxed approach from now on.

I'm 6 weeks tomorrow... time has absolutely dragged since getting my bfp, 12 week scan feels like it may as well be next year! 🙈

Things feel so surreal at the moment. Totally hear you about it seeming like an absolute age until the scan @Drf hope you’re feeling okay though?

Yup @Nina202, feeling good 🤗 although the nausea started yesterday and that wasn't much fun, and my boobs are massive and sore. Other than that I feel great! How about you?

Oh no @Drf. Not looking forward to the nausea. I also have very sore and massive boobs! Feel like I need some new bras already! 🍉🍉

Hey ladies! Just wondering (desperately 😂) to those with bfp (massive congratulations btw!! Super happy for you guys) was there anything different you did this cycle to get that bfp? Xx

Hey @Sunshine3295 we did try the conceive plus lube this month! It’s possible it helped the swimmers along 🐟🐟 also I think we definitely hit before, during and just after ovulation if the sticks are to be believed. More BD than previous months I think. I was pretty determined this cycle. But who knows really? I think ultimately we just got lucky, and I am very grateful.

how long have you been trying?

@Sunshine3295 we did SMEP with the Clear Blue lube. Worked a treat!

@Nina202 thank you I will have a look xx getting to the desperation stage in ttc now even though I know there a lot of others in a lot worse situations than us. We started trying in January, had a mc in February and been trying since then xx

@Sunshine3295 so sorry to hear about the mc. It must have been heartbreaking I have been so obsessed with ttc. It’s so hard not to be, but definitely try to look after yourself and relax. I have everything crossed for you 🤞🤞🤞

Awh thank you @SFrancis1 I've been trying naturally since 2019 but currently on cycle four of clomid :) I have pcos. Been stressful but I'm more zen about it all now🤞🏼 what about you?

@pcosandme.x I am on cycle 9. I am trying the more relaxed approach......easier said than donw 😣 How are you finding Clomid? Sorry to hear you have had a stressful journey so far.

Hi girls so I had a misscarriage at 11 wks 3 days I had a d&c just 22 days okay. I’ve been taken pregnancy tests to get my negative tests we are trying again I got a positive opk yesteday and today but I’ve not had my period yet. So I’m unsure of what way my cycles are yet and I’ve had positive opk ? No idea as when my period is due either I’ve had all negative opks until yesteday an today hoping to get my rainbow baby xx thanks

For the first time whilst ttc, I caved and took a test this morning. I didn't want a repeat of my last cycle when I got my hopes up because AF didn't show on it's due date, although I know my cycles range by a few days. It was a BFN! Of course it was, onto cycle 10 😞....I am feeling really deflated and starting to wish I never started this journey, with the rollercoaster of emotions and heartache. As much as I have genuinely loved hearing positive stories and I have felt excited for strangers' BFPs, I think I need to come away from Mumsnet. I have a gut feeling I have a long journey ahead of me and reading pregnancy announcements makes me question why not me.....I know I will be an amazing Mum. I just need my body to work with me.

Aww I'm so sorry you're feeling like this @SFrancis1 ❤️ you could maybe contact your doctor and try and get some bloods done maybe? I had regular 31-34 day cycles but it turned out I had pcos (not to scare you but just to encourage you to try and get some tests done) I know how you feel as I've been there 20 odd times and even with clomid, it's still not working! Hope you're okay xx

I need your advice. I’m 10 dpo tomorrow and I’m dying to take a test. I do feel some symptoms and a little bit positive. I have the new clear blue super early test. What do you think! Can I test tomorrow morning?

@SFSFrancis1 sorry you're feeling sad and disheartened. Totally understand if you need to have a break. Some days I love seeing other people's BFPs and some days it just makes me feel shit.

I feel a bit down about it all today too. Not feeling positive for this cycle

This must be a lucky thread because I just got my BFP at 10dpo. 🙈😍✨
However, I’m trying to stay calm, we suffered a miscarriage in early March at 7 weeks so I’m well aware that this is only the first step.
But fiiiinally 😍 this was cycle 4 after the mc, cycle 6 in total!
