@Minster2012 apparently didn't learn from the last time and is once again letting me loose behind the wheel whilst she enjoys her well earned rest! You can follow her on Instagram (Minstermusings) where lots of passengers and ex-passengers have their own TTC or normal accounts too (just be careful not to out anyone on their non-TTC accounts!)

We have had over 100 BFPs on this thread since @Minster2012 took over including 2 on the last thread so we need to keep our lucky run going, no slacking ladies!

Anything goes and NOTHING is TMI on this bus! Whether you're doing it the old fashioned way or with some help from science, we're all waiting for those 2 pink lines and are here to support each other and try to stay (somewhat) sane along the way

Hi all

It's been a while since I last posted. My husband had his SA results and they show as normal this was done via nhs, which is great news.

Still suffering from pcos and still trying to lose weight 😑 but the fertility clinic wanted me to speak to my gp about my thyroid as seem a little high.

Now taking medication for hypothyroidism, initially started on taking them x3 a week but after my recent blood test results I have to take them every day. I take them first thing in the morning and I try not to eat/drink coffee tea within 30mins of taking it.

Does anyone else have hypothyroidism and since taking them, has this ever resulted in a pregnancy.

Feeling down as I have never had a positive pregnancy test and feeling it is never going to happen

Hope everyone is doing well xx

pennysays · 02/06/2022 07:39

Hi @MrsBiddy welcome back, I don’t have any experience of hyperthyroidism and hoping that others might. But I just wanted to pass on some words of encouragement! You’re doing so well with all the tests, you’ve been diagnosed and are on the right medication and your partnered SA is normal. This is all great progress! What’s next on the list for you?

happy bank holiday everyone! What are you all up to?

Checking in on everyone on the TWW. I’m not kidding myself that I might be pregnant the timing was bad.

pennysays · 02/06/2022 07:40

Argh! This is exciting. And didn’t you conceive DS after your last hycosy? Keeping everything crossed.

MrsBiddy · 02/06/2022 08:44

@pennysays

Thank you for your kind words 😊

I have pcos aswell and the double whammy as well as a under active thyroid. I have been trying to lose weight but it has been very hard. I'm hoping the new thyroid drug will help with that.

I've got to get my bmi under 30 for nhs treatment and 35 for private. Currently at bmi 40 😣

They won't go any further with me until I have lost weight 😞 so frustrating as I have struggled all my life with my weight.

Hope everyone has a lovely bank holiday & praying for it to be sunny 😎 x

Bundaberg84 · 02/06/2022 09:15

@MrsBiddy I have read from several women who got pregnant as soon as they had their thyroid levels in check. Crossing all fingers for you!

Somatronic · 02/06/2022 09:45

@MrsBiddy I'm sorry to hear that they won't proceed without the weight loss. That's very tough. I have both Graves disease and Hashimotos thyroiditis (and PCOS!) but the Graves is in remission since 2018 so my main issue is hypothyroidism at the moment. I was taking 50mg and 75mg of eltroxin on alternate days when I conceived via IVF.

If your thyroid bloods are normal (T4 in normal range and TSH between 1 and 2) it should have absolutely no effect on your ability to get pregnant. Once you hopefully become pregnant you have to inform the doctor immediately though as your dose will have to be increased. My endocrinologist has been reviewing my bloods every month for a long time now - maybe a year now, Because they had been slipping around the time I was on letrozole. So it might be an idea to have more regular bloods than usual to make sure TSH is staying between 1 and 2.

Are you taking metformin for the PCOS? I found it helpful for controlling appetite. It also helps ovulation if that's a problem for you.

In my news, I have yet another fucking migraine. Dragging my arse through work today I reckon. I met a colleague on my way in to work who said I looked so nice and relaxed this morning. I could only walk at a snail's pace, I'm wearing comfy clothes not really appropriate for where I work and I had my sunglasses on. I roared "this is as fast as I can move I have a migraine" and he ran away.

MrsBiddy · 02/06/2022 10:41

@Somatronic

Thank you for your reply xx

I have done some reading and did see if you become pregnant, to have more blood tests as could cause miscarriage due to incorrect thyroid levels.

My GP advised me to have a blood test in 3months. So I might see if I can have it done more often.

Yes I take x3 Metformin a day, it has suppressed my appetite and if I do go abit crazy I get the bad side effects 💩 😬

I know GP/NHS are over worked and underpaid but I do sometimes think about going private as it just seem that they aren't as thorough enough. As it was the fertility team at the hospital that told me to get my thyroid checked. I'd had blood tests before and no one had spotted it.

Hopefully 🙏🏻 when things are under control, I fall pregnant or at least helps me lose weight xx

Hope your migraine goes away soon, thank you for your help xx

Somatronic · 02/06/2022 11:00

@MrsBiddy I see a private endocrinologist and though she's expensive to see, I only actually have to visit her now every couple of years (though back in the bad old days when I had Graves disease it was more like every 6 - 12 weeks but that would never happen with hypothyroidism). In the interim she checks my bloods and changes my dose every month for free so I can't complain. I'm not in Britain so I don't know what the story is there, but it might be worth having more frequent blood tests especially if things appear to be fluctuating at the moment. Every three months is fine if things are stable.

Also, just to be clear in case I'm being confusing, you don't actually need an endocrinologist to manage an underactive thyroid (whereas you absolutely do for other thyroid diseases like Graves disease), but more frequent tests would definitely be worth it. That should be sufficient if your GP knows what they're doing (in my limited experience they don't have a clue but I've always been under the care of an endocrinologist so I don't know much about GPs when it comes to the thyroid).

amy2503 · 02/06/2022 21:33

Hi ladies. Does anyone ever have pregnancy dreams? I dreamt I got a positive test last night. x

Bundaberg84 · 02/06/2022 22:35

@amy2503 actually I had twice, and the first time I was pregnant! Fingers crossed for you

amy2503 · 03/06/2022 09:22

@Bundaberg84 thanks lovely. I’ve woken up with the full dull back and yummy ache that I always get, so don’t think it’s likely 😢 I’m 7-8dpo and due on about Wednesday. I’m getting so sick of the heartache. x

pennysays · 03/06/2022 11:16

I’ve had pregnancy dreams - but not been pregnant. It was pretty devastating actually. So mine don’t correlate with any reality!

Bundaberg84 · 03/06/2022 13:35

@amy2503 See, both times I ended up with a BFP I had regular AF cramps. Not to keep your hopes up too much, but it is not necessarily a sign that you are out!

Franklydear · 03/06/2022 13:46

@amy2503 sometimes I do too, but in my dreams I’m like 8 months pregnant, obviously my subconscious making sense of my desires, good luck

Somatronic · 03/06/2022 15:30

I don't think I've had pregnancy dreams but I've had a few where I have a baby and I'm usually fucking things up.

Bundaberg84 · 03/06/2022 16:12

@Franklydear that reminds me, I had more than one time a dream where I was pregnant and only realised because I gave birth. It was so crazy, my thoughts were like "what do I tell my workplace FFS??" 😂

polkadotpixie · 03/06/2022 18:19

@amy2503 I've also had bad AF cramps at 7/8dpo both times I've been pregnant too. I was actually quite hopeful this cycle as although I always get cramps in my luteal phase they were bad enough for me to need painkillers this time

I'm 11dpo today. AF due today or tomorrow, no sign yet but temp dropped this morning so I'm pretty sure it's another BFN this month. That's a full year of trying now, 8 cycles since my MC 😩

pennysays · 03/06/2022 18:57

Ahhh @polkadotpixie in so sorry. That’s shit. These anniversaries are so shit.

Franklydear · 03/06/2022 20:28

@polkadotpixie anniversaries are truly shit, I am quite pleased if I manage to forget them

A bit puzzled tonight, cd 16 maybe 3/4 dpo who knows? and had a bit of brown spotting, like really brown, I don't want to get my hopes up thinking implantation bleeding, we've been trying for over two and a half years now, and at my age I am more inclined to think menopause, we did DTD this morning but wasn't that rough

polkadotpixie · 04/06/2022 04:39

@Franklydear Could you be a bit off with your ovulation date if you're not tracking and actually be ovulating now? I occasionally get ovulation spotting, although mine tends to be pinkish...or maybe you ovulated a bit earlier than you think and it is implantation 🤞

AF due today for me but temp shot up which was unexpected. Zero symptoms though and I'm so full of hay fever it could be masking a cold or something?

I have had 1 cycle with a 12 day luteal phase so I wouldn't say I was late until tomorrow so we'll see what happens today AF-wise and I'll test tomorrow if she doesn't show up today

🥛 Crazed POAS orgies and a hot date with the spaff cup....TTC Bus 53! 🚌

pennysays · 04/06/2022 08:22

why is it never simple?!!! Well I suppose it is for some women. Hmmm @Franklydear that is strange. I guess we just have to wait and see! Any other symptoms?

@polkadotpixie argh! Ok not getting my hopes up. I’ve also had cycles where my temp has shot up at the end. So we wait!!

How is everyone else doing?

Franklydear · 04/06/2022 09:30

@polkadotpixie i only go by cm so I could be way off, it could be ovulation late by that doesn’t make sense by cm, I could have ovulated a bit earlier sometimes I have 23 day cycles, only a bit more in the night, I put on a pad see if something stays, I only have spotting before af
@pennysays a few cramps and a bit of back ache, which I don’t normally get, but I had every symptom under the sun in the last 2 years so I don’t spot anymore, I’ll be 45 in a couple of months so menopause more likely than baby, sadly

polkadotpixie · 04/06/2022 09:44

@pennysays It's unusual for me to have a temp rise at 12dpo but not completely unheard of so trying not to get my hopes up!

OP posts:
Franklydear · 04/06/2022 09:48

@polkadotpixie we’ll just have to wait, I just don’t want a16 day cycle, hoping there’s other explanation for the spotting

Franklydear · 04/06/2022 10:01

I am still spotting, just about 18 h so I fear af
