@Minster2012 apparently didn't learn from the last time and is once again letting me loose behind the wheel whilst she enjoys her well earned rest! You can follow her on Instagram (Minstermusings) where lots of passengers and ex-passengers have their own TTC or normal accounts too (just be careful not to out anyone on their non-TTC accounts!)

We have had over 100 BFPs on this thread since @Minster2012 took over including 2 on the last thread so we need to keep our lucky run going, no slacking ladies!

Anything goes and NOTHING is TMI on this bus! Whether you're doing it the old fashioned way or with some help from science, we're all waiting for those 2 pink lines and are here to support each other and try to stay (somewhat) sane along the way

Thanks @Dawnbird thats really comforting. We’ve been together 12 years! And recently I’ve been doing a lot of work on myself, therapy etc and it’s exposing messy dynamics in our relationship. But I end up feeling like I’m the one addressing them on my own. Part of it is dp’s need to have “everything sorted and then we can xxx”, this desire to feel in control otherwise he can’t plan a holiday or a baby.

On the one hand, I do understand it, we’re in a financially precarious situation and ideally we would have our ducks in a row before a baby came. But progress is slow and we’ve been “trying” for 18 months. I’m getting older and I don’t want to wait anymore.

he says he definitely wants another child but I worry it will end up like lots of things in his life that he wants but can’t do yet because x and y aren’t in place. It doesn’t actually help, it just means we miss out on things.

ok, need to bottle this all up now, can’t think about it too much because my hormones make me very despairing.

Dawnbird · 27/05/2022 00:19

@pennysays ha my DP is EXACTLY the same! It's very frustrating.

We've known each other since high school, so about 18 years now and we've been friends that whole time, so it feels like it's been way longer.

Franklydear · 27/05/2022 06:03

@Somatronic wonderful! I never had any sickness either, in fact, my asthma went away due to the extra oxygen from the placenta, so if anything I was healthier
@pennysays its a bump, and we all have them, we’ve been married 23 years, and separated twice in the first ten, it’ll never be the perfect time, you have to live on today

GemB03 · 27/05/2022 09:41

@pennysays my DP is the same too. Everything has to be perfect before we take the next step but I'm much more of a 'we'll make it work' mentality. We've never argued so much about anything else, I feel like TTC is destroying a pretty perfect relationship but 🤷🏻‍♀️ I can't stop. Just hope you know you aren't alone with feeling like your relationship is a mess x

Somatronic · 27/05/2022 10:49

@pennysays @Dawnbird and @GemB03 I'm sorry to hear that you're not getting the support you need from your partners. FFS this craic is hard enough without that added stress and drama.

I have sort of pulled DH along with me thoughout the process though luckily he has been compliant so far as TTC is concerned. But when it comes to other things he also thinks everything needs to be just right before we move to the next step. I had to give him an ultimatum re marriage (we're together 14 years and married for a year and a half!) and had to do all the work in terms of buying a house and TTC too. He's good in other ways but having to always be the boss is annoying.

Also, thanks for all the kind words yesterday. You're all very nice to me. I'm delighted but so so tired again today. Thank God I'm working from home today. This week involved 3 nights out socialising which is probably why I'm so tired. Hopefully nobody will invite me anywhere for another month.

That's great to hear the scan went well Somatronic

pennysays · 27/05/2022 22:42

Thanks for sharing your stories about dps @GemB03 @Somatronic and @Franklydear - it’s good to know I’m not alone.

I get this immense sense of shame that I might just be a mumsnet cliche with a feckless partner but it’s not as simple as LTB. Because part of the work is my work - it is about my boundaries and not mothering and not making his life so easy. It is about me putting the responsibility back on him - if he needs everything to be sorted then what is he going to do to sort it?!

@Franklydear it is a bump. But our relationship is changing for the best and that’s really hard and tiring.

@Somatronic you are a party animal! Three nights in a row? Don’t overdo it and end up sobbing in a dark room!

Dawnbird · 27/05/2022 22:49

Thanks @Somatronic DP 'came around' to the idea RE having everything sorted finances wise (we're not that badly off, but he's paranoid and we don't own a house yet, most of our money is tied up in our businesses) before we started TTC after I drew a line in the sand. I think he's still a little happy it's taking so long to conceive though, because it gives him more time to prepare, which is a little frustrating sometimes. I know he wants this, but he'd rather later than sooner. He's 35 and I'm 33, so we do have -some- time, but not forever, especially as my mum started menopause in her early 40's, which is pretty young so I'm worried I'll follow suit.

Dawnbird · 27/05/2022 22:54

I kind of miss the days of NOT having to socialise. We work 3-4 nights a week running events at the shop, which makes it compulsory! I've gotten used to it over the past few years, don't find it as hard as I once did (Our regulars who come to events are awesome, and that helps!) but I do really relish a night off!

polkadotpixie · 28/05/2022 07:35

@Somatronic Congratulations on your scan, lovely news 🥰

@GemB03 Welcome to the bus! 🚌

I'm currently 5dpo, nothing much to report. My contract at work got extended for another 12 months though which is a big relief!

Dawnbird · 28/05/2022 08:57

@polkadotpixie yay for job stability! Great news. :)

pennysays · 28/05/2022 23:37

Good news @polkadotpixie ok so you’re dpo 5… when do you test?

well I don’t know wtf is happening in my relationship. DP declares we should have sex today - it’s been MONTHS since we had sex - all because he was too stressed or we weren’t organised enough or whatever. No conversation about how I could still get pregnant even after ovulation. I didn’t question it!!

Anyway we did it and I got the goods. It’s a day after ovulation and given my previous history it seems impossible that it will lead to anything but you never know. So here I am 1dpo!

polkadotpixie · 29/05/2022 14:57

@pennysays I'm not much of a tester really, I can usually tell by my BBT if I'm out. I'm already getting my mid luteal phase cramping so not very hopeful but I'll test on Fri/Sat if it looks promising

Hi! Thanks for thinking of me! I was taking a break from everything TTC online. We just did all tests, all seems good. I had a hsg done last week, hycosy didn't work out, and I needed anesthesia to do it. But my tube seems perfect. So off we go to the new cycle. I think I'm 1 dpo already. How are you? I missed a lot, I don't know how to catch up 😅

pennysays · 30/05/2022 07:57

Great news about the tests @Bundaberg84 although sorry you ended up with an HSG. Thanks for joining us back on here, it’s nice to see you. Main things to catch up on is that @Minster2012 had her baby 😍and that @Somatronic is up the duff!

Bundaberg84 · 30/05/2022 08:52

@pennysays thank you! Well, I didn't feel anything as I was knocked out, but good thing everything was alright :)
aaahh! So exciting! @Minster2012 huge congratulations! And to you, too of course @Somatronic 🌻

Somatronic · 30/05/2022 09:54

Thanks @Bundaberg84 I'm glad your tests all came back clear!

I'm struggling with migraines still. 2 now in a week and a half/two weeks? I hadn't had one for months before that so I hope that this isn't going to be my life until next January. I will lose my mind. I felt fine yesterday morning, went for a walk and that very gentle exercise seemed to trigger the migraine (it was mild as my migraines go, thank God) so I can't even exercise now. FFS. I have a GP appointment next week so I'll ask them then if there's anything I can do.

Being pregnant gives me free GP visits for the first time in my life. It's amazing to finally get something for free after paying all those taxes.

Hope everyone is doing OK.

Bundaberg84 · 30/05/2022 11:11

So sorry to hear @Somatronic . I suffer migraines as well, so does my friend, and she had very bad ones during the first trimester. She normally takes very strong medications that are not safe to take during pregnancy. What helped a litte bit with at least the frequency was to drink a lot more than she used to. Water, that is, of course ;) I hope you will not get more migraines.

dmb91 · 30/05/2022 11:43

How many packs of pre conception vitamins to you ladies buy at once?
I'm almost at the end of another 3 month supply and not sure if I should get 3/6/12 months worth 😫

polkadotpixie · 30/05/2022 13:23

@dmb91 I buy 3 months at a time because I like to delude myself that I won't need them any longer than that 😂😩

OP posts:
pennysays · 30/05/2022 16:25

@dmb91 I’m here for this! So stressful. I got three months at once

dmb91 · 31/05/2022 21:36

I'll stick with ordering three months worth and kick myself for it when they run out 😂

polkadotpixie · 01/06/2022 06:28

9dpo today and chart is all over the place. Hoping that's a good sign as it looks very much like my BFP chart from the month I conceived DS 🤞 None of my pretty charts have come to anything so hopefully an ugly one will! No symptoms really apart from AF cramps but I get those whether I'm pregnant or not so not really much of an indicator!

How is everyone doing? Is anyone else in their TWW?
