@Minster2012 apparently didn't learn from the last time and is once again letting me loose behind the wheel whilst she enjoys her well earned rest! You can follow her on Instagram (Minstermusings) where lots of passengers and ex-passengers have their own TTC or normal accounts too (just be careful not to out anyone on their non-TTC accounts!)

We have had over 100 BFPs on this thread since @Minster2012 took over including 2 on the last thread so we need to keep our lucky run going, no slacking ladies!

Anything goes and NOTHING is TMI on this bus! Whether you're doing it the old fashioned way or with some help from science, we're all waiting for those 2 pink lines and are here to support each other and try to stay (somewhat) sane along the way

Franklydear · 10/08/2022 19:31

@GemB03 I'll send some help from the other bus

What's the other bus?

Sunbird24 · 10/08/2022 23:05

@GemB03 there’s a donkey cart for those of us who’ve been on and off the bus quite a bit due to fertility issues - a few people have graduated and become zebras though!

becarefuloutthere · 11/08/2022 09:56

Hi @GemB03 I'm from the other bus 👋🏾 @Franklydear said you need some tips with ivf.
I ttc for 20 months but we have various issues so used our one round of nhs ivf and it fortunately worked first time! I have a nearly 6 month old DD. What questions do you have? Happy to help! 😊

Manifestingbaby · 11/08/2022 10:02

@Franklydear sorry about covid. Good you had the ultrasound, don't leave it too long to follow up with gp. Were all your bloods in normal range when you had them done?

@Sunbird24 hopefully you can try again soon. We will all be hoping for you x

@GemB03 I know how you feel, definitely not for celebrating. We aren't pursuing ivf. I just can't. It would take more strength than I have left. People definitely have a rose tinted view of ivf been guaranteed. Wishing you luck.

@polkadotpixie I'm feeling pretty hopeless too. I don't know what I'm at really. We stopped ttc, then said we'd just not prevent but not hope, then I had a really late period which got my hopes up and through me back into what ifs and maybes. I really need to accept it's not going to happen! Should probably get off this bus too!

Manifestingbaby · 11/08/2022 10:04

Aw @becarefuloutthere you're very sweet 💗can't believe you have a six month old! Hope you are both doing well x

Franklydear · 11/08/2022 14:05

@Manifestingbaby bloods were normal but only did the generic ones, so I'll ask for day 2 and day 21 next time, on the try and not hope, you and me both, I have accepted it won't happen but I don't think DH has
@GemB03 the other bus is where the preggo ladies go to shield us a bit from the pregnancy and baby talk, so we don't loose our minds

On covid, just tired and bothered but not that bad, lots of Netflix and a bit of knitting, off work until at least Monday and then we'll see

GemB03 · 11/08/2022 14:18

Thank you @becarefuloutthere! Lovely to hear your success story ☺️
I guess I'm mostly concerned about the impact the drugs may have on me. How bad was it? I've recently been promoted at work and I'm sure I can handle the stress/appointments but the hormones scare me 🤣
Also, did you take any supplements that you'd recommend? So much out there, feels like a minefield.
Thank you!

Somatronic · 11/08/2022 18:16

Hi @GemB03. I did IVF in April and was also lucky in that it worked for us first time. I'm 19 weeks pregnant now.

Regarding the hormones, I didn't have any crazy side effects which was really surprising for me! When I took Clomid I was all over the shop hormonally and I assumed the IVF drugs would be much worse but they were actually fine! Bloating was my main issue, which is horrible when you're trying so hard to get pregnant and you unfortunately look pregnant when you're not.

Re supplements I took inositol because it's supposed to be good for PCOS which I have. The IVF doctor recommended 600mg of Co-enzyme Q10 a day for egg quality so I took that in the 2 or 3 months before egg collection too (ideally you'd take it for 3 months before).

I don't think you need to go crazy on the supplements. I read that book It Starts with the Egg and to be honest all it did was make me feel overwhelmed and bad about myself so I never picked it up again and just followed the doctor's instructions re Co-enzyme Q10.

becarefuloutthere · 12/08/2022 10:09

@Manifestingbaby hi lovely, thank you 😊 both doing well yes. Hope you too? I know you don't want to do Ivf but it might be worth looking into getting your nhs funding for it. It's a hassle to start but once funding is approved and the round has started it's goes smoothly. I know not every story works out like mine but there is a chance and also success with frozen rounds! ❤️

@GemB03 hi 👋🏾 all depends on the protocol they put you on, long or short, determines the drugs. I was on short as it went as close to my natural cycle as they could. I was ok on the drugs but everyone is different. I just got a headache and felt a bit off at times. My hormones didn't make me crazy like I thought they would! Congrats on the promotion 👏🏾
I stayed on my existing ones so coq10, folic acid and vit d. No extras. Is your clinic in London?

GemB03 · 12/08/2022 11:08

Thank you @Somatronic. That's all super helpful and congratulations on your pregnancy! 🥰
I've ordered some CoQ10 and Pregnacare preconception 'Max' so hopefully that's enough to be in the best place for IVF!

I've heard about that book being information overload and glad I avoided it! It read the Amazon reviews for some good 'takeaways' from the book instead 🤣

I'm really really comforted to know the drugs didn't turn you crazy. Maybe it's a misconception I have but it's always been my biggest fear about turning to IVF. Like many I've found this whole TTC journey a complete and utter mindfuck emotionally/mentally and I'm so scared of the drugs making it worse. But hey, after nearly 2 years of this at least I know I can handle it whatever happens... silver lining of this living nightmare maybe!? 🤣
Thank you again xx

GemB03 · 16/08/2022 00:34

@becarefuloutthere ah I'm sorry I missed your reply! Thank you, that's helpful and good to know you weren't too badly affected.
Clinic is Manchester, we live about an hour away but our nearest city works with the Manchester clinic so I can do my blood tests and some scans close to home - ideal.
I'm on all of those too supplement wise so will continue on those! Thanks again 🤗

isam8598 · 17/08/2022 13:29

Hi has anybody been through fertility clinic and did you get tested or treated for crohn's and colitis? As I'm currently under investigation from gastroenterologist side due to abdominal pain I just wanted to know do fertility clinic and gastroenterologist work together or how does it work ?

polkadotpixie · 14/09/2022 05:04

How is everyone doing? Any good news?

I'm 7dpo on cycle 16, still waiting for my endometriosis surgery and hoping once I have that I'll magically be able to get pregnant! I've been waiting since March 2021 😩

OP posts:
Franklydear · 14/09/2022 06:38

Nothing yet, but af allegedly due on the 22, so will see

polkadotpixie · 14/09/2022 16:53

What are the odds...I finally got a date for my laparoscopy today! It's on 7th October so if it's a BFN this cycle which is highly likely then surgery it is 😱

OP posts:
Hoping43 · 14/09/2022 21:55

@polkadotpixie that’s good news. What’s the reason for your laparoscopy?

I have finally ovulated on letrozole but I ovulate naturally anyway so can’t see it being my answer. We are planning to go for IVF within the next 2 months

polkadotpixie · 15/09/2022 05:33

@Hoping43 It's for treatment of endometriosis and removal of an ovarian cyst. I'm so hoping I'll be able to conceive after it's been treated, we're planning to start letrozole then too (I also ovulate but hoping it boosts it)

OP posts:
GemB03 · 15/09/2022 19:46

We start IVF soon - initial appointment on 29th 💩 so looks like our first cycle will be November. So scared!

I was told by my clinic I couldn't have an ovulation inducing drug because I definitely ovulate. I didn't realise you could ovulate naturally and still take it! Sounds like worth a try.

Manifestingbaby · 22/09/2022 11:07

Hi all 👋 I haven't been on mumsnet in a few weeks. Nice to see the thread is still somewhat active 😊 hope everyone is well. Great you have your surgery date @polkadotpixie hope it does the trick for you.

@GemB03 and @Hoping43 good luck with your upcoming ivf. I was also given letrozole despite ovulating, well one blood test showed no ovulation, the next showed I did ovulate. Anyway either way it didn't do us any good.

@Franklydear how are you? Did af show? I'm due today/tomorrow too.

No news from me, just checking in 😘

Franklydear · 23/09/2022 06:00

Af just showed up, 27 day cycle so pretty normal this time, well, not for me but things haven’t been normal for a long time, but…. as I just turned 45 I think I am out of my depth now and just in a pipe dream, you know, this time next year….

Manifestingbaby · 27/09/2022 13:16

Sorry about af @Franklydear mine hasn't shown up yet but no hope I'm pregnant. Don't think i even ovulated. Cycles are all over the place. Belated happy birthday 🎂

Franklydear · 29/09/2022 18:22

@Manifestingbaby thank you, I was truly spoiled, the cycles are frustrating, aren’t they?

Manifestingbaby · 30/09/2022 20:50

@Franklydear oh so frustrating. I think I'm heading for menopause 😥

polkadotpixie · 07/10/2022 10:33

Just waiting to go down to theatre for my laparoscopy for my endometriosis...shitting myself that it'll be so bad in there they tell me I'll never conceive again 🥺

Hope everyone is okay?
