@Minster2012 apparently didn't learn from the last time and is once again letting me loose behind the wheel whilst she enjoys her well earned rest! You can follow her on Instagram (Minstermusings) where lots of passengers and ex-passengers have their own TTC or normal accounts too (just be careful not to out anyone on their non-TTC accounts!)

We have had over 100 BFPs on this thread since @Minster2012 took over including 2 on the last thread so we need to keep our lucky run going, no slacking ladies!

Anything goes and NOTHING is TMI on this bus! Whether you're doing it the old fashioned way or with some help from science, we're all waiting for those 2 pink lines and are here to support each other and try to stay (somewhat) sane along the way

@pennysays yup! But if you don't test, you just know this will be the one where it's like CD30 and you miss it. My strategy has been to wait for fertile/semi fertile CM and test every 2 days (I get multiple lots of it each cycle) while trying to focus on DTD every other day just in case. Managed to get it in 10 OPKs last cycle that way.

GemB03 · 24/05/2022 18:02

Hi everyone - room for another one?

A bit about me: 19 months TTC, unexplained infertility, really struggling with it all. My lifelong dream of trying for a baby is actually turning into a nightmare and it's SO lonely. I thought I'd give this bus a go for some hope/support/sanity 🤣

Somatronic · 24/05/2022 18:18

@GemB03 That's so tough, you poor thing. And I definitely relate on the loneliness.

I presume you've had lots of tests and all that and they found nothing? I am the same. Some people say that that's the worst diagnosis but I disagree. It can be positive and just mean that you need more time or a little help maybe, but there's nothing majorly wrong? Have you tried anything like Clomid or IUI or anything like that?

GemB03 · 24/05/2022 20:47

@Somatronic it is so lonely isn't it. I feel like the people around me have the best intentions but ultimately, they don't get it.

Yeah, we've had all the tests done, all clear. It is a good thing, for sure, I just wish there was something active we could do/try. Our fertility specialist has now said we just wait to be referred for IVF at month 24. They said that Clomid isn't useful as I am ovulating and IUI doesn't have any higher success rate for unexplained infertility than just DTD normally. So, we wait! What have you tried?

CD1 today and I'm determined to make this a more positive month, hence joining this chat! ☺️

Somatronic · 24/05/2022 21:30

@GemB03 I did clomid and letrozole which I think was pointless as I ovulate myself, then IVF which so far has been successful. I'm 7weeks5days now so hopefully it'll work out. I didn't bother with IUI either because success rates are low and I have to pay for everything.

pennysays · 25/05/2022 00:32

Welcome @GemB03 youre in safe hands. Lots of us have been trying for a long time. And yeah it’s super lonely. We keep each other sane here. That sounds like a long wait for a referral so I’m sorry about that.

@dmb91 in so sorry to hear that news. What’s happening now? How long do you have to wait for the tests?

I had my dildo cam yesterday and it was all fine - no surprise there, I had the same test this time last year but my new gp needed to repeat it. Went to pick up the spaff cup for dp as well. It seems like I may have literally wank him off myself to get this referral to the fertility clinic. Only joking. Obvs I’m going to send him to the room of shame to do it.

pennysays · 25/05/2022 00:34

Also @Dawnbird hard relate!! Currently horny and I hate everyone so that MUST mean I’m ovulating? Oh no, perhaps that’s just my personality.

Dawnbird · 25/05/2022 05:09

@pennysays Horny and hateful? 😂I've seen much worse personalities.

Welcome @GemB03 it's nice having someone to talk to, isn't it? 19 months is a long time. We're up to 10 and I think I would've already been driven crazy if I wasn't keeping so busy with work.

Franklydear · 25/05/2022 06:51

Hey ladies and welcome @GemB03 , long time trier here too, I have a ds, 12, so nit nhs help for me
still a bit poorly but getting better, back to work though, starting to get some ewcm, not horny so need to work on that

GemB03 · 25/05/2022 14:34

Thank you all for the warm welcome 🥰 it's much appreciated!

@Somatronic that's wonderful. Go happy to hear IVF worked for you!

@Dawnbird @pennysays Horny & hateful is a great autobiography title 🤣

dmb91 · 25/05/2022 21:07

Thanks @pennysays, MIL has a colonoscopy on Saturday and they will give her the results afterwards unless they need to do biopsies.

Went to the drs today (unrelated to TTC) and was prescribed some medication so I checked it was ok to have while TTC/early pregnant (it is). Mentioned how I wasn't very hopeful about actually getting pregnant and got the 'just relax and stop trying' response 🤬

@dmb91 if I had a penny every time I heard that 😫 it's a toss up between that and 'it'll all be worth it when it happens' for least helpful response ever!

Dawnbird · 26/05/2022 00:36

"Horny & Hateful: A Fertility Journey Clusterfuck"

Tbh, I'd buy that based on title alone.

pennysays · 26/05/2022 07:21

@Dawnbird and we have a new title for the next thread!!

@dmb91 fingers crossed for your MIL and sorry about the doctor. Infuriating!

Minster2012 · 26/05/2022 08:17

Not read through I'm afraid but just wanted to wish @Somatronic allllllll the luck today for viability scan xxxx

Somatronic · 26/05/2022 11:02

@dmb91 Wishing your MIL all the luck in the world today xx

@Minster2012 Thanks! It all went well thank God. Measuring 8 weeks which is exactly correct, all the right things are present and accounted for, I saw a little flicker on the screen of the heartbeat and they said it was a great scan.

So relieved! My symptoms (other than the frankly outrageous exhaustion) disappeared over a week ago so I was slightly concerned. My mother said she was never very sick with early pregnancy but she was absolutely exhausted so I was hopeful that it was just how these things go in our family and it seems to be the case. Thanks for all the support!

Somatronic · 26/05/2022 11:03

@dmb91 sorry - Saturday, not today.

Sunbird24 · 26/05/2022 11:19

Fab news @Somatronic!

larrythelizard · 26/05/2022 11:24

Also not up to date on here but was just checking in for @Somatronic - fantastic news 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Dawnbird · 26/05/2022 12:28

Ooh, today? Good luck @Somatronic

Minster2012 · 26/05/2022 12:43

@Somatronic that's amazing news!! Sooooo pleased for you ❤️🥳it's very worrying when you have symptoms then they go & this time i basically only had exhaustion & no other symptoms and all well so it's hard not to compare but the symptoms aren't the best indicator 😘

GemB03 · 26/05/2022 17:41

Wonderful news @Somatronic! 🥳

Has anyone tried reflexology or acupuncture for fertility?

pennysays · 26/05/2022 20:53

Ahhh wonderful! So pleased for you @Somatronic!

Well it turns out that hateful and horny WERE my ovulation symptoms. Felt really crampy and did a opk and got a positive. Ran downstairs to tell dp who then launches into a whole thing about how “is now really the right time, I thought we agreed we would wait”.

Im fucking broken. Of course my hormones are a mess as I’m ovulating, I NEVER ovulate this early (@Somatronic could all the supplements you recommended?!) so I wasn’t expecting to have to navigate this now. Our relationship is a mess.

paintfairy · 26/05/2022 21:55

@Somatronic congratulations! 🥳 Must be a relief. I know it seems a very long wait for that scan.

Dawnbird · 26/05/2022 22:41

@Somatronic well I'm clearly an idiot who got sidetracked and then didn't refresh the page before posting, CONGRATS on the great scan! Sticky little baby keep up the good work! Not everyone gets morning sickness for long or even at all!

@pennysays oof, rough. There is always another month, as much as it sucks. That's what I keep telling myself anyway. What sort of supplements have you been taking??

Relationship wise, the only advice I have is if you both WANT this, you CAN make it work, you have to both actively try though, and you have to want it. DP and I have hit absolute bottom a couple of years back. We split up for a few months but came back from it stronger than ever and that was what it took, just both of us stubbornly working on it till it got there. Looking at getting married finally next summer. We've been together for about 4 years now all up, and we know now that if that mess can't break us for good, pretty much nothing can.
