@Minster2012 apparently didn't learn from the last time and is once again letting me loose behind the wheel whilst she enjoys her well earned rest! You can follow her on Instagram (Minstermusings) where lots of passengers and ex-passengers have their own TTC or normal accounts too (just be careful not to out anyone on their non-TTC accounts!)

We have had over 100 BFPs on this thread since @Minster2012 took over including 2 on the last thread so we need to keep our lucky run going, no slacking ladies!

Anything goes and NOTHING is TMI on this bus! Whether you're doing it the old fashioned way or with some help from science, we're all waiting for those 2 pink lines and are here to support each other and try to stay (somewhat) sane along the way

What’s Murphy?

Lovely new underwear. I invested in some new bras recently and it’s been great!

Day 36 over here. App announced it was ovulation day today. LOLz. Nice try app.

How’s everyone else doing? @paintfairy @BellatrixK @Bundaberg84 and what about you @lakejupiter you must be 14dpo?

Somatronic · 25/03/2022 21:50

@pennysays I presume Murphy's law?

How is everyone doing?

No news here. Been taking norethisterone all week. Had bloods done in the hospital yesterday and I have a phone consultation with a nurse on Monday.

Today I received some emails saying that IVF is murdering children. I deleted them obviously (I work in policymaking and these were lobbies from Catholic extremists which I am used to) but it still bothered me to have to read that shit. There's a bill regulating IVF and surrogacy (finally!) going through parliament at the minute so all the anti-choice lunatics are coming out of the woodwork. Fabulous timing 👌

Dawnbird · 26/03/2022 07:38

@pennysays Yes, Murphy's law!

@Somatronic oh some people are just nuts. Irritating.

12DPO here, might test tomorrow. I have a stocktake to run at work, so going to be a busy day.

pennysays · 26/03/2022 13:05

@Somatronic ugh rough. it's really hard to hear that stuff even when you know it's not true. I mostly find it depressing that people can be that far removed from reality.

@Dawnbird keep us posted on testing tomorrow.

Can I ask what people who are long term TTC are doing about folic acid? I took my last one from my year's supply yesterday (screams into pillow) and I'm wondering whether to both getting anymore. I take a multivitamin which has some in.

Somatronic · 26/03/2022 14:03

I resent my folic acid tablets sometimes! I take a higher dose that I get on prescription because of my thyroid diseases. I complained to my endocrinologist about having to take it for so long without any sign of a pregnancy and she basically told me to shut up and keep taking it which is obviously good advice.

I'd imagine taking a B vitamin complex or another vitamin with the RDA of folic acid would be fine? I used to do that until my consultant said I needed a higher dose.

Dawnbird · 26/03/2022 20:57

As long as you're not taking too much folic acid, you should be fine @pennysays a multivitamin will have a smaller amount, but should be enough if you're of a normal weight. I get mine in 3 month doses, but go for 800mcg because I'm both tall and overweight. I've just finished a third lot of 3 months of those, as I was taking it before starting TTC in prep. Switched to Elevit recently, which has 500 in it, which should be sufficient, but will do a top up when I get that positive test. I know vitamins are a bit of a crapshoot really, taking it for more of the general boost, and the iron.

BFN this morning :( my temp was high so I tested, maybe it'll come down tomorrow, or maybe my cycle is wrong again on O and 45 days isn't long enough torture!

JSS15 · 27/03/2022 09:25

Hi everyone. Just checking back in after being on holiday. I decided not to take my thermometer but did take a few LH tests with me so I could estimate O day - didn't get a huge peak (only went up to 0.8) but reckon I probably missed it rather than it not happening. The sunshine sure helped with BD-ing lol and I was hopeful but unfortunately back to CD1 yesterday.

I see people are mentioning folic acid. I was taking some as part of a general Women's multivitamin but I've run out now. Does anyone use a specific "TTC" multivitamin? I think I might change to that. Also might get my partner a fertility supplement too - does anyone else's partner take one? I'm hoping he'd be fine if I just bought some home one day and asked him to take it!

Franklydear · 28/03/2022 06:01

Hi, nothing to report, just checking in cos MN took this off threads im in😲

Franklydear · 28/03/2022 10:05

For those following my saga, I'm spotting!!!

dmb91 · 28/03/2022 16:42

Oh @Franklydear 🤦‍♀️

I've just got home from my scan.. I have a 'good number of follicles' and 'everything looks fine structurally'.
So back to the GP 😩
CD56 today, 9 months in ttc and only 1af in that time.

pennysays · 28/03/2022 18:07

@dmb91 gahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! Are you going to try and get a clomid prescription?

Franklydear · 28/03/2022 18:12

@dmb91 mine is driving me crazy but yours!?

Spotting stopped obviously

Somatronic · 28/03/2022 19:29

@dmb91 I'm glad everything looks normal. Have you been diagnosed with PCOS?

@Franklydear what a headfuck! I hate when periods can't make up their minds!

I had my phone consultation with the nurse today. She was very nice and cleared up a lot of my confusion. She said I should really have looked at the videos for how to prepare and administer the injections- I had been avoiding all that but I'll have the two of us watch them tonight I guess as she'll be calling me tomorrow to check! I finish norethisterone today and should be injecting myself on April Fool's day approximately. I don't know why I use this thread as a personal log but I do, so here we are.

Dawnbird · 28/03/2022 21:26

Temp up again and another BFN this morning. Have had 3 lots of fertile CM this month, and temp dips to match on CD 18, 31 and 40, so I don't know what's going on. 🤔 we've been too busy/tired to DTD outside when indicated, so I'm not confusing it. And of course I'm on CD 45 with no sign of AF anytime soon. 😒

Dawnbird · 28/03/2022 21:30

@Somatronic progress! Exciting.

@Franklydear how annoying. Hope you get some peace of mind soon and figure things out.

@dmb91 that sounds super frustrating. I'm feeling annoyed enough with 50 something days the last two. Hope you work out what's up soon.

polkadotpixie · 29/03/2022 12:29

@Somatronic Eeek exciting...not long now!

@Franklydear

@dmb91 Glad everything looks normal, have they given you any reasons for your long cycles?

I went for my AMH and AFC ultrasound at the fertility clinic this morning. As expected, the endometrioma on my right ovary has really damaged it so I only have 4 follicles on that side but I have 12 on my left ovary so 16 in total which I don't think is too bad given I'm 38 in a few weeks

The nurse said my uterine lining was on the slightly thinner side but no polyps or fibroids and overall nothing to worry about and every looked fine except for the endometrioma so just got to wait for my AMH results and DH's SA results and we have our first appointment on 6th April

polkadotpixie · 29/03/2022 12:30

@Franklydear I lost my comment to you 🙈 Do you think this is AF starting? Have you tested again?

OP posts:
dmb91 · 29/03/2022 16:43

I'll be changing dr surgeries then trying again, my experience so far has been that gps aren't at all interested in anything fertility related. No diagnosis or explanations so far, was expecting PCOS but apparently not.
Not long until we hit the one year mark so maybe I'll get more answers then.

Tested positive for covid this morning so I've been banished to the bedroom alone.

@Franklydear what CD are you?

Franklydear · 29/03/2022 18:03

@polkadotpixie @dmb91 CD1, at definitely here, 46 days cycle like double normal with spotting nearly bang in the middle

MrsBiddy · 29/03/2022 21:55

Hi all,

It's been a while since I posted, still not pregnant lol 😫

I've had the flattest bbt ever since charting 😣 and started spotting for 2/3 days now and OvuSense hasn't confirmed ovulation yet 😒
Still having issues losing weight 😩 argh!

Hope everyone is doing ok x feeling very frustrated !!!

🥛 Crazed POAS orgies and a hot date with the spaff cup....TTC Bus 53! 🚌
Dawnbird · 30/03/2022 01:50

Well, I was feeling a bit optimistic this morning, maybe even a little hopeful. I woke up feeling seedy and needing to pee, plus my boobs were super heavy. My temp was still high, and I'd been so exhausted yesterday...

But started spotting this afternoon. Sad

I'm just going to quietly finish knitting my socks today, then skip out on work early around 6pm. (DP will be here anyway by then). I think a bath and netflix is in my plans for this evening. Hopefully no more frogs.

Dawnbird · 30/03/2022 02:07

Oh... wow I'm really not with it. That definitely requires more explanation.

One of my cats caught a frog last night at about 5am, it was very angry. Apparently angry frogs are very noisy. It sounded a lot like a kazoo, but bouncing around the house.

Somatronic · 30/03/2022 08:36

I'm sorry about AF @Franklydear and @Dawnbird. Amazing frog story! A kazoo bouncing around the house 😂

That's frustrating alright @mrsbiddy 😒

I had horrendous night sweats last night. I'm not on any meds at the moment-maybe it's leftover norethisterone effects. Am very tired too. Yawn.

Franklydear · 30/03/2022 09:35

@Somatronic don’t be, I am very pleased to be out of limbo and I knew I wasn’t pregnant anyway, I tested way too much🙈

Dawnbird · 30/03/2022 23:45

No real AF yet. I guess I should test tomorrow if it's still just on and off spotting. CD17 by then. Last time I tested was CD13 and BFN, but that was a rapid test, not an early detection one.
