@NatW2021 thank you , it’s nice to have people who do understand. You don’t want to be a downer because it’s a lovely and exciting time for the other person , but it’s hard not to feel a little sorry for myself.

Just in the two week wait now which is when I always find it hardest. Trying so hard to be optimistic that maybe this month will be our month

BritInNZ · 20/03/2022 19:17

Thanks everyone for the supportive messages. These last few days are always the worst for me - I even dreamt I was spotting and cried in my dreams! We're actually moving out of our house tomorrow and I just got a promotion so there's heaps going on. Hopefully that will make me less miserable when AF arrives 😬

@NatW2021 yes I definitely need to be patient. Although it's hard when you've already been patient for 13 months hey?! 😂

@Sweetpeasandpeonies ah that's so tough. I would HATE that. In fact I'd probably have not gone and asked to see her alone. I'm sure she would have understood. I don't think there's any harm in saying to people you had stuff going on and you're not in the right frame of mind to see them in person etc.

@BritInNZ I've just read a few pages on spotting that I thought may be of interest! Hope you stay nice and distracted.

We got a call from friends this morning to confirm suspicious that baby #2 is on the way. I cried and got cross. OH just doesn't react like I do and it makes me so irrationally irritated.

@FlyOnTheWall89 thanks so much for that, that made me feel heaps better. I just had my appointment with the gynaecologist for next week cancelled 😭 I have been waiting 6 months for it!!! So fed up of constant waiting!!

Im so sorry, that's really rough. My husband also doesn't react like me, but has admitted he's finding things tough so I know I'm not alone.

FlyOnTheWall89 · 20/03/2022 20:55

@BritInNZ you're fuc*ing joking. For what reason?!?! I'd be really pushing them for an appt. Don't let this slide x

BritInNZ · 20/03/2022 20:59

@FlyOnTheWall89 COVID is going wild here so I suspect that's why. It doesn't help that I am moving next week so would be under a different district health board and potentially to the bottom of the waiting list again! 😭

Sweetpeasandpeonies · 20/03/2022 21:15

@BritInNZ well done on the promotion and hope the house move goes smoothly! Definitely lots of stressful things for you though right now so hopefully when you’ve got them
Out of the way you might feel less stressed. So sorry about your appointment being cancelled!!! That’s so rubbish 😞

@FlyOnTheWall89 that’s so hard about your friend. My husband is the same , I think men just process things differently . I know he is finding it hard but he just doesn’t really show it. I get irritated sometimes because I feel like he just doesn’t care that much , even though I know he does, he just internalises

FlyOnTheWall89 · 21/03/2022 06:23

@BritInNZ ye my OH tested positive yesterday - it's going wild here too. He has managed to escape it until
Now. 3 days before his next SA. Sooooo annoying. I'll have to drop his 'sample off'.

Any advice guys.

So I book the HSG for this month, or wait for next month? Reason being, it will be another month of my OH taking Proxeed and drinking only 1 cup of coffee and doing all the other 'right' things. I don't want to miss out on that 'fertility' boost. Sperm taking 72 days to fully renew. We are on 54 days rn. (This is I'm allowed to go in for one now considering OH has C19).

Tinkerbell098 · 21/03/2022 11:55

@FlyOnTheWall89 Sorry to hear about OH testing positive. Hope he is OK. Hope you won't catch it and you are able to drop his sample off.
Regarding HSG, it probably depends on when your next appointment is with the consultant, as you may need to wait to get the results. I know sometimes they tell you the result then and there, but in my case, they didn't (possibly because it wasn't good news). So, if the appointment is ages away anyway, you could wait an extra month if you want to make full use of the boost. If it's earlier than that and if you want to discuss results straightaway, you could go for it now. When would you find out OH's SA results? If you get the result before you have to book the HSG, you could decide depending on that too? If it's improved significantly, you could go for the HSG this month? I know it's a tricky one.

@NatW2021 thanks for the suggestion about the podcast. I'll have a listen.

Tinkerbell098 · 21/03/2022 11:57

@Hoping43 I haven't had an antral follicle count done, so I don't know. My day 21 FSH was 1.5 iu/L, so lower end of normal. Not sure what it means, but was deemed ok by the consultant.

FlyOnTheWall89 · 21/03/2022 11:59

@Tinkerbell098 We will get results the following day so this Wednesday - I had the same thought depending on the result. My next appointment is with the IVF nurse which I won't do until we are basically ready to begin IVF. My lead doctor said she would look out for my results and get in touch within 2 weeks. Thanks for you insight xx

Hoping43 · 21/03/2022 12:02

@Tinkerbell098 ah ok I see. Good to know your consultant thought it was ok though xx

Tinkerbell098 · 21/03/2022 12:12

@Hoping43 I think she didn't put too much emphasis on it as I am being referred to IVF anyway. She basically said don't waste time with more investigations as I don't have time (low AMH and age).

Hoping43 · 21/03/2022 12:48

@Tinkerbell098 yes I’m sure that’s going to be the verdict for me also. Just not looking forward to the cost of it all 😔 but I have to try it xx

Tinkerbell098 · 21/03/2022 13:12

@Hoping43 I know, I just wish there was more funding for this area, it's just sad.

Hoping43 · 21/03/2022 13:27

@Tinkerbell098 I know. I am lucky to have 2 but still doesn’t take away from wanting another. I do understand they need to prioritise people without any but it still seems underfunded compared to other countries x

Tinkerbell098 · 21/03/2022 13:30

@Hoping43 I don't think it should matter if you've got any, infertility is infertility and treatment should be for everyone. It's just really underfunded with a lot of inequality compared to a lot of other things.

Hoping43 · 21/03/2022 13:35

@Tinkerbell098 when I had my initial GP appt back in September they said before they referred us they had to make it clear we wouldn’t be eligible for any treatment and that I had to be aware of that before they referred us. It was quite sad because a lot of people wouldn’t be able to afford it and would have had to give up then and there x

lilrosemarie · 21/03/2022 19:20

Just got a positive ovulation test today.
What day is my ovulation day - tomorrow? Or does tomorrow already count as 1dpo? 🙈😬

I don’t normally take opks, I just decided to this month as I started Clomid and I wanted to see.

LucyAnne34 · 21/03/2022 22:31

@lilrosemarie unfortunately just because you got a positive test doesn’t necessarily mean you will ovulate. It’s supposed to be 24-36 hours after peak ovulation though. I’d take another tomorrow and see if it’s any darker as that’s what I’ve found in the past Smile

LucyAnne34 · 21/03/2022 22:32

*24-35 hours after getting a peak test result I meant :)

LucyAnne34 · 21/03/2022 22:33
  1. Bloody hell I cannot type today 😂
lilrosemarie · 22/03/2022 06:59

@LucyAnne34 took another this morning and it’s the same as yesterday’s. Don’t think it will get any darker. I have two left so will probably take another one in the evening and then one tomorrow.

BritInNZ · 22/03/2022 18:41

Hi ladies, unfortunately AF arrived for me today so that's onto month 14. This is the first month I haven't cried about it though, so maybe I'm getting used to it 😂

OP posts:
FlyOnTheWall89 · 22/03/2022 20:44

Hoping number 14 is lucky for @BritInNZ.

Update from us..

SA repeat results in. Morphology has jumped from 0% to 9% so that is amazing.

The notes say: high volume, low concentration, total sperm count: borderline. I guess that's good / at least better. I think if we were prepared to just keep going for 'X' amount of time we would get there, but it's how long we wait. X
