Soooo....@Minster2012 is letting the lunatics take over the asylum as she's handing over the driving seat to the passengers and having a well deserved rest after driving us around since June 2020!

I'm sure she'll still be around and you can follow her on Instagram (Minstermusings) where a lot of passengers and ex-passengers have their own TTC or normal accounts too (just be careful not to out anyone on their non-TTC accounts!)

We have a fabulous history of BFPs on this thread since @Minster2012 took over and we need to keep it up...no slacking!

Anything goes and NOTHING is TMI on this bus! Whether you're doing it the old fashioned way or with some help from science, we're all waiting for those 2 pink lines and are here to support each other and try to stay (somewhat) sane along the way

Morning all. Happy Imbolc/St Brigid's Day. Brigid is Ireland's woman patron saint (she was formerly a pagan Goddess but was repurposed when Christianity arrived) and her feast day marks the first day of spring in Ireland.

Bad start to the day. I was up half the night with a sick stomach. Awful. No idea what brought it on 🤢

Minster2012 · 01/02/2022 08:59

@InkyPaper ooo diff meds too! I had buselin and all ok, have the headaches subsided after stopping the northisterone? Ok so replaced by feeling crap from the stimulations but 🤣. This is what I tried to get through to my DH when we did it 5 times...it's a constant medication haze/fog/heightened emotional state. It's awful (but for a good result) so hang on in 🤞🏻

@Somatronic how you feeling?

I've never been pinged and whenever lockdown wasn't on (or I wasn't isolating cos of ivf) I carried on as normal & DS was at nursery. I'm so shocked! DH worked all way through too but I guess he can actually avoid ppl in our place most ppl work as separate entities (then the drivers can literally see no one in a day) but certainly the lads at work went to the pub 3 times a week so I told him to avoid them 😂

Minster2012 · 01/02/2022 09:00

Oh @Somatronic you just posted, not feeling great 🤔😬sorry to hear that but happy pagan goddess day

pennysays · 01/02/2022 09:19

Yes! Let’s connect with our inner pagan goddess today, happy lunar new year too!

Found myself googling baby names this morning. Someone come and give me a hard slap.

pennysays · 01/02/2022 09:20

Oh no @Somatronic bed and lucozade for you!

Somatronic · 01/02/2022 09:22

I work in politics so I would literally have to have my head hanging off to take a day off. Pray for me 😅

pennysays · 01/02/2022 09:25

Also @paintfairy and @lakejupiter don’t buy into this cliff edge stuff about fertility after 36 - nhs stats say it’s just not true.

lakejupiter · 01/02/2022 09:29

Thanks for this @pennysays - someone did tell me that the cliff edge stuff is based on ancient outdated studies when life expectancy and diet were really different. And a sprinkle of misogyny 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have a list of names on my notes app that I've been adding to for about a decade - keep having to delete names when friends and fam have babies!

lakejupiter · 01/02/2022 09:34

Hope you feel better @Somatronic 🥺

Bundaberg84 · 01/02/2022 10:34

Good morning! How is everyone?
My whole team is sick today and I have to work more than I thought, also my old doggie had a really bad night and I slept really bad (she's now happily sleeping since three hours, don't know why she couldn't do that tonight) and I'm just glad I'm at the spa hotel right now as feel really relaxed despite it all. Also it snowed the whole day and night yesterday and everything looks like a winter wonderland.

Thanks @pennysays I need to hear that from time to time, I'll turn 38 this year, can't believe it!

Feel better soon @Somatronic. Stomach bugs are the worst.

@lakejupiter same! I don't have a list but some names (only girls names if I'm honest) and I have to delete names all the time. Either I will met someone with the same name that is AWFUL and I can't bother with the name anymore, or someone will name their baby the same name.
Luckily my two best friends have a bad taste in names :p just kidding, but both chose names I would never have chosen.

Franklydear · 01/02/2022 12:43

Up by 11.30, I did get up at 5.30 to help ds get ready for school, went back to bed by 6.45, feel a bit more human and, brace yourselves, phlegm has changed from yellow to off white (that’s a good thing) instead of going green, had coffee and a bit of cake as a fashion of lunch and now watching Netflix in bed, the sinner

Somatronic · 01/02/2022 13:49

Glad you're feeling better @Franklydear

I've been fine so far, so long may it last. I'm about to take a metformin tablet which could go either way 🤪

I don't love any girls names! I have one in mind but it's genuinely the only name I've come up with and I wouldn't say I love it. I like lots of boys' names but DH hates them all of course.

@Bundaberg84 Snow! How lovely.

paintfairy · 01/02/2022 14:12

@pennysays @lakejupiter on that basis I'm unfortunately one of the unlucky 10% that didn't. But I was more talking ivf stats if you end up going that way. The clinics stats by age group speak for themselves unfortunately.

Bundaberg84 · 01/02/2022 14:30

@Somatronic I love snow, as in, sitting inside by a fire drinking hot tea. Not so much when you need to drive. I just spent 15 minutes ,digging my car out, and another 5 trying to get out of the parking spot. Just to get dog food my lovely dog now refuses to eat Hmm

Somatronic · 01/02/2022 18:25

Haha fair enough. That sounds like less fun than I'd imagined @bundaberg84

Minster2012 · 02/02/2022 07:56

I'm like @Bundaberg84 I love snow, especially when I'm sat in front of a fire inside looking out at it!! If I'm outside then it has to be thick, crisp & me having to go nowhere 😜

@InkyPaper is it another scan day today? 🤞🏻

Franklydear · 02/02/2022 08:15

@InkyPaper oh yes, it’s Wednesday
I am still at home, I’ll attempt a sofa day today

Somatronic · 02/02/2022 08:38

Morning all. @InkyPaper best of luck today.

@Franklydear glad to hear that you're doing OK and that you're taking it easy.

Can anyone advise how they went about dealing with work and IVF? My doctor said I'd only need the day of egg collection off work, though my googling suggests some people take a lot more time than that. Also I get migraines from hormone treatment so I'm aware that that might happen too.
Also I'll need time for scans and hospital visits and the hospital is miles from work.

As I've mentioned before I work in a very macho environment and my boss expects me to be there all the time just in case (though I work from home 2 days a week which is great). I think I mentioned before that the last time I tried to call in sick with a horrendous migraine I was told to take 2 solpedeine and attend work. So basically I'm expecting it to be a struggle and would appreciate any advice anyone might have.

Franklydear · 02/02/2022 09:16

@Somatronic my work is also a have you died? No, get your ass down here then, in the last few weeks it has also been suggested that I opp out of all family life to ensure I am well enough to work, you just have to say fuck it, my work can replace me but my family can't, that's for the feeling ill, for the procedures, is there a company policy you can look up?

Bundaberg84 · 02/02/2022 10:24

@Somatronic that's horrible! Honestly, I wouldn't feel ashamed to call in sick even though you aren't, as you obviously worked even when sick, so they kinda owe you in my opinion.
I'd tell them I have food poisoning and need to be close to the toilet. No way you'd be able to work, and no questions asked when you return as you aren't contagious.

Bundaberg84 · 02/02/2022 10:28

@Franklydear that's so unhealthy! How can they ask to opp out of family live in order to be able to work? What the hell is wrong with them.
One of my employees came from a similar workplace before she started in my team, and I swear I have to force her to stop working. She called in yesterday with a bad headache and feeling sick but she "will work of course, just needs some break in between". What the hell, go back to sleep and close your laptop, we're no heart surgeons. Nobody will die just because you're not online. We always say "the world is not ending just because you don't work today. And if the world ends today, then it wouldn't matter if you worked or not".

Franklydear · 02/02/2022 10:36

@Bundaberg84 I just call in sick when I need to, in fact they even stop back to work interviews so I don't even have to explain myself, if the heat gets a bit up, doc will just write me a sick note, nothing they can do but moan, unpleasant yes, but....

Bundaberg84 · 02/02/2022 10:38

@Franklydear okay, at least that. Even though I really hate it when I have a boss that moans around when I call in sick. I get that it's not pleasant, but at least have the decency to wait until you hang up the phone to start moaning.

paintfairy · 02/02/2022 11:00

@Somatronic it's difficult because everyone is different. What job do you do? The constant scans will also impact on work time, so be aware of that. I personally found the stims ok. But when I was on buserelin alone, for downreg, I did get some headaches. However on the whole it wasn't too bad. I was going for acupuncture though and this did also help. After EC to be honest I was ok. But it hinges on your job. Yes I had bloating, was uncomfortable and had a degree of OHSS but I was still doing my horses daily (trying to be careful). However you wouldn't want to be doing a manual job all day long. This did last a while too- I was still quite uncomfortable by my 8 week scan at the ivf clinic.

Somatronic · 02/02/2022 11:06

Thanks for that.

@paintfairy it's a desk job so should be fine. I suppose my main issue is that my boss insists on me being around all the time and panics when I'm not. So I can see her having issues with this. I suppose all I can do is say it to her and if she's unreasonable I can see if my GP or someone will write me notes for scans etc. Our HR situation is weird so I don't know if there's any point going there at this stage.
