Hoping to get our BFPs in January - the story continues

Hi all, I have figured out how to create a thread on Mumsnet and here goes... my first one.

This is a continuation of the two (!) full Jan threads so far this month - we're a chatty bunch and happy to welcome new folks. There'll probably be a February thread starting up soon too.

Will tag everyone I can see below... please join if I missed you!

Lots of creamy cm today, not what I normally get before AF! I'm very tentatively getting my hopes up now, going to be devastated if af decides to turn up tomorrow

@Moonshine160 I can definitely see something! I understand about not wanting to test fmu but test in the evening instead. I’m kind of the same. Just gives a tiny bit of hope. But that line looks very promising so fingers crossed for you xx

@Autumn09 my symptoms before I got my bfp were mild cramps and lower backache, a lot of creamy cm, bloating, and mood swings. It wasn't much different to expecting my period really. I didn't get the more obvious symptoms like nausea, sore boobs, tiredness etc until around 14dpo but I tested early at 9/10dpo as I have a short luteal phase.

We may have covid 😔 me and DH have a sore throat and bit of a cough and just did a lateral flow that came back positive. Going for a pcr first thing tomorrow. Not the BFP I wanted to see. Hope this won’t screw up my cycles!

Congratulations to all the BFP's! This thread clearly shows a lot of bedroom action over the Xmas period 😂

I got tempted by all your positives... so just did a test which of course was a BFN :( Think I'm 10 days PO. Am away for the weekend and AF due Monday, and I have all my usual pre-AF symptoms and a headache tonight so pretty sure this month isn't for me. I'll update after the weekend but will catch some of you on the Feb threads... best of luck to everyone with BFP's! X

@Tinkerbell098 My husband, 6 year old and 10 month old have all tested positive today.. I got a slight positive this morning on pregnancy test so really worried I’ll catch covid and it messes up this little one sticking 😢 I hope you and your partner feel better soon. Xx

@Billymay oh no! Hope they are not too bad and only have mild symptoms. I’ve heard some ladies who had caught covid but still had sticky beans so don’t worry too much.
Thanks we are not too bad at the minute, hoping that symptoms will stay mild.

Thanks everyone for looking and making me feel like I’m not crazy. I’ve just done yet another after not weeing for a couple of hours and it looks like this. Which is what the others looked like within 2 mins but when they dry out the line is barely visible anymore. Are they just crap tests?

@Moonshine160, I think I see a squinter but, and I say this with all the kindness in the world, STEP AWAY FROM THE TESTS.

No more peeing on anything tonight. Have a warm bath, read a good book, go to bed and buy a good quality early detection test tomorrow.

If it's meant to be, it'll be. No amount of wee now will change that. 😉

@Moonshine160 I do see that this time. I'm really trying not to get your hopes up, but i'm also really really hopeful that tomorrow you will see a pink line rather than grey. Are you able to get FRERs? I think the cheapie pee sticks work on less sensitivity, so if a line were grey there then theoretically a FRER might be pink? I noticed my first positive test wasn't very coloured but the next day the pink came x

@Moonshine160 I can see a line there. I got my BFP at 9DPO but could see a little bit of a line at 8DPO but thought it was an evap. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Congratulations to all the BFPs on here! It's all making me want to test so badly even though I'm only 5 dpo and have zero symptoms! The next week is going to be a sloooow one!!

I'm 12DPO tomorrow- ovulation was two days late so originally thought I'd be 14DPO tomorrow. I can't decide wether to just test or hold off til Sunday/Monday if no AF. Ahhhhh!

@BH1926 me too! All these BFPs made me want to test today sadly i am 10 days post ovulation and no symptoms and don’t feel pregnant at all this month so I will hold off til AF from now on…i hope. Good luck!
@miamom good luck, having experienced tragedy in my life i know it is very hard, even so many years on today it seems to affect my every day. I hope you find peace and happiness and get your baby this year sending a big virtual hug x

@Moonshine160 congratulations!! I’m using those exact same tests and they are not great. I got a faint BFP at 9dpo. I’m now 14 dpo and line hasn’t really progressed at all but is still there. Period due this weekend. From reading the Amazon reviews they can give lots of false negatives/only show very faint lines for ages. I’ve bought myself a clear blue to use instead and am saving it for Sunday if I don’t start bleeding.

I would advise against watching line progression with them though as they will drive you crazy! Mine haven’t really progressed at all. And they fade away after a few hours

Well I've woke up for work and no af as of yet, fingers crossed now she dosen't come later today and while she's at it she can stay away for 9 months! 😂😅
