Hi all, I have figured out how to create a thread on Mumsnet and here goes... my first one.

This is a continuation of the two (!) full Jan threads so far this month - we're a chatty bunch and happy to welcome new folks. There'll probably be a February thread starting up soon too.

Will tag everyone I can see below... please join if I missed you!

@oldermam

Must be the month for AF to be messing people around. 1 day late. I had the worst period pains last night. I was doubled over. But still no period this morning. I got a bfn yesterday. I'm cd26. 16dpo.

40 tomorrow... I bet she shows up tomorrow lol

It's not over till she arrives I feel like my period is coming if I didn't have sore boobs I wouldn't of doubted it
oldermam · 20/01/2022 07:34

Af just arrived 😂 relieved tbh after all the pains I had last night!

Gemma3439 · 20/01/2022 07:46

@oldermam

Hope this month is your month x

Lillyofthevalley15 · 20/01/2022 08:28

Thank you everyone for your kind messages! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everyone who is still hoping for a BFP this month. I have had absolutely no symptoms so far, no cramping, spotting, nausea etc - hopefully this will put some of your minds at rest if you are obsessively symptom spotting (like I was).

Nikkic2123 · 20/01/2022 08:49

Oh ladies
I've tested positive for covid, I'm about 2dpo

I'm hoping it won't run my chances this Month

TheBirdintheCave · 20/01/2022 08:58
@TheBirdintheCave, in a boring virtual meeting so have trawled the threads...

Results are in:
1st thread (back in Dec): 6 BFPs
2nd thread: 9 BFPs
3rd thread: 10 BFPs so far!

I've excluded known CPs, and I'm hoping there are a few more to come before we wrap up. 🤞🤞🤞
Wow thanks for this! 19 January BFPs! That's crazy :D And there're still eleven days to go! :O

7dpo for me today.

Gizzy93 · 20/01/2022 09:07

Oh @Nikkic2123, I hope you don't feel too wrecked!
It's just past 8pm here and still no sign of AF. No cramps.
Just sore boobs, they seem a bit bigger. Heartburn. I feel so sick, especially after eating, no appetite.
Did a FRER this afternoon and BFN.
If no AF in the morning I'll test again.

newjourney21 · 20/01/2022 09:26

Hi ladies, CD19 for me today, I think I ovulated at some point Saturday/Sunday based on the signs I was having but think I missed my high reading on OPKs so don't know for sure! Should be due on 31st Jan but still not 100% sure on my cycles so it's all still a waiting game atm!
Woke up this morning with a dull ache in my stomach and a headache so no idea what that's about, hoping it is a positive sign, but know it is very early. Have read so many stories online of people getting symptoms at 4/5DPO but seems crazy! We dtd Friday, Sunday and Monday so if I did ovulate I'm hoping we caught it!! I say I'm not going to obsess and relax about it but TTC is literally all that is on my mind these days 😂

Shortmamashortcycles · 20/01/2022 10:41

Aw @oldermam, AF is just starting for me too - BFN this morning and spotting and cramps starting up after nothing yesterday.

A bit down today, guys - I had no spotting at all yesterday plus nausea which exactly mimicked my implantation bleeding the last time I got pregnant so was holding onto some hope.

Will have a little cry later and hopefully that'll be the emotional clear out I need. Will stick around on the thread for the rest of you - hoping for some more BFPs for others!

Sorry to hear that @Shortmamashortcycles :(

Tinkerbell098 · 20/01/2022 10:59

BFN this morning. AF due today, so just waiting ...

BabyBird20 · 20/01/2022 11:32

@Shortmamashortcycles it's gutting isn't it. I'm 12dpo today and af spotting just started along with the raging pms and cramps so just want to curl up and cry. Sad

BH1926 · 20/01/2022 11:55

Thank yous for your kind words ❤️

Congratulations to those who have gotten their BFPs xx

CJB92 · 20/01/2022 15:57

Afternoon ladies! Hope everyone is doing well today!

I have a question and wondered if anyone knew the answer...
My opks indicated I had peaked on 16th, so premom predicted ovulation would have been the following day on 17th. And on 17th I had a much lower opk result. So technically today if I ovulated on 17th, even if it were 16th I'd only be 3 or 4 dpo. Yet yesterday I had some twinges and today just now I've had the smallest pink spotting, like implantation bleeding. But isn't it way too early for that? I don't know what else it would be though... any ideas?

madeleine85 · 20/01/2022 16:04

@CJB92 I don't want to give false hope as everyone is different, and different people can ovulate at different times, those tests cannot always be accurate, but... with my current pregnancy I swear implantation cramps were from day 3-7 but very strong day 4. Totally gone by early day 7, and then weird tingling nipples day 8/9. My hair also stopped coming out in the shower from day 3 when the cramping started, which i know is due to increased estrogen. I know most people implant day 6-9, but for me it was definitely earlier. Good luck, crossing everything for you x

madeleine85 · 20/01/2022 16:08

@Shortmamashortcycles I am so sorry AF decided to show up. It is the absolute pits, coupled with hormones that literally make you feel like shit. Have a down day, treat yourself to some chocolate and wine. I usually felt shitty and weepy for an hour/two then for some reason was like "ok now we start again" and planned some different things to try the new cycle. Helped take my mind off it a bit if I was being proactive for change. Also, I know you are fairly new to TTC, and I do think it takes the body a few months to build up enough endrometrial lining after being on birth control (assuming you were), and 3-6 months is the sweet spot where things regulate. You're there now I think so crossing everything that this is your cycle (valentines day baby). Sending love x

madeleine85 · 20/01/2022 16:12

@Gizzy93 that is so odd... you sound like I did right at the point i tested BFP so I am hoping for you that it is coming. I remember having a chicken burger the night before and being sick to my stomach with heartburn which never happens to me. Let us know how you get on x

@oldermam sorry about AF, but glad that it wasn't a repeat of last month! Happy birthday for when it comes :) x

@Nikkic2123 sorry you have covid... I was sick with a rotten cold the whole way through the 2WW and it didn't impact fertility, so hopefully covid is a quick pass through for you and you're still in with a shot x

CJB92 · 20/01/2022 16:16

@madeleine85 thank you for sharing, my tests were strange because I had a chemical, I continued having fairly high opks for ages and then suddenly it jumped to peak and then quickly went negative after. We dtd on 1st, 4th, 7th, 10th, 11th, 13th, 15th, 16th, 17th, as we were dtd pretty quick after chemical to try to catch again, as I hear you're more fertile after a chemical, whether that's true or not I thought I'd give ourselves the best chance and got my positive opk on 16th. So hopefully we have done enough. I just took my 8 vitamins 😂 feel like my grandparents with the amount of tablets.

I had some strong cramps/twinges/stabbing pain yesterday and the day before but today I'm fine, alot of bloating. But the spotting surprised me this early. Maybe the chemical threw things off, because I also ovulated later according to the opks than what's on my ovia app that I usually go by.

Thank you for helping and lots of love and good wishes for your current pregnancy! ❤

Mummytobe93 · 20/01/2022 16:20

Good afternoon ladies

I’m so sorry @Shortmamashortcycles 💔 I know how you feel, disappointed and sad, plus the hormonal rollercoaster of CD1 always makes me feel like I’m just fed up with everything and everybody but hang in there 💕 tomorrow is going to be a better day, new cycle new chance.

Congrats on the BFPs!✨

I got high OPK reading Tuesday night and peak yesterday morning, managed to DTD last night at around 8 pm and that’s it for this fertile window!

I was curious to see if my temp is going to go up today or tomorrow but I had sh*t night sleep so had to discard today’s reading. According to fertility friend I ovulated on the day of OPK peak last month but then the month before I ovulated 2 days later. I guess I’ll never know!

AF due on the second of Feb but I’ll certainly won’t wait with testing till then😂 I’ll be anxious to find out if (TMI) legs on a wall and having an orgasm after did the trick 🙈

The things we do, honestly …

Tinkerbell098 · 20/01/2022 16:26

AF arrived this afternoon and feel so down. DH brought me some brownies to make me feel better and I’ve only managed a couple of bites. I think it’s about cycle 14 now (have honestly lost count) and still nothing.
Hoping to start on CoQ10/ ubiquinol this month for both me and DH. Looks so expensive. Does anyone know any brand that’s reasonably priced that I could get as don’t want to spend a fortune on something that may or may not work. We are starting private fertility appointments next month so want to save as much as we can for those. Thanks I’m advance!

madeleine85 · 20/01/2022 16:44

@CJB92 you've definitely done all that you can, so now just the 2WW which is the worst! I would be ok until day 5-6 and then it just dragged. I've heard the same about being more fertile after a chemical, so hope there is something to that. Fingers crossed for you x

@Mummytobe93 you made me laugh, and yes, the things we do! It is truly ridiculous when I think with my DD I had one of every drink on a night out, DTD once that week and passed out. With this time I literally did every old wives tale including eating frigging pineapple and it was probably all complete nonsense lol. Good luck for this time around x

@Tinkerbell098 fingers crossed for you, so glad you are moving forward with treatments, that is a huge step. I took COQ10 for 2 months, I think it did something for me, though i'm in the USA so not sure it would price comparatively. Hope there is a boots name brand option for you. Not sure if you want it, but I joined a thread at one point thinking that from the description it was for people just newly off the pill, but it turned out the people on there (who were lovely) were around from old posts, and had been TTC a year +/the majority were going through treatments. In case you want help from them (as they are so knowledgeable/the majority were in treatments and are just lovely) this was their thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/4384604-TTC-post-pill-Halloween-Party?msgid=112612320#112612320

arianasky · 20/01/2022 17:11

@Tinkerbell098 I'll post a screen shot of what COQ10 I take, I've conceived first month twice but unfortunately miscarried twice. They're £19.99 for the 120 tablets.

Hoping to get our BFPs in January - the story continues
Nikkic2123 · 20/01/2022 17:24

@Shortmamashortcycles
I’m sorry, I know it’s not easy.
One month closer to your baby x

rmummyofone · 20/01/2022 17:32

I'm sorry to hear @Shortmamashortcycles @Tinkerbell098 :(

I'm also feeling out for this month.. feel quite low really. 8dpo and no symptoms at all..

CJB92 · 20/01/2022 17:33

@madeleine85 thanks, hopefully it's not going to drag too much. I said to myself this time don't test until AF is due or late, as that itself would tell you, but I know I probably won't be doing that! And husband was clearing out bathroom cupboard and found two packs of FRER still In date that I didn't know I had! Haha.

With regards to ubiquinol, I took the one on amazon in a green bottle, its an expensive vitamins but ubiquinol is the better form than coq10 but now I just take standard coq10 because cant afford ubiquinol every month. I have the boom It starts with the egg. Its very good, so I take Vitamin E, for uterine lining and egg quality, high dose 1000mg Vit C, high dose Vit D, coq10, Zinc, folic acid, and B6. 😂
