This is a continuation of the two (!) full Jan threads so far this month - we're a chatty bunch and happy to welcome new folks. There'll probably be a February thread starting up soon too.

Would love to join - think I am ovulating today/tomorrow so the dreaded TWW begins!!

As an update to the testing list for the rest of January - I'm going to try and wait until 29th which is when I expect AF to arrive. I am away for some of next week so hoping that I am too busy to think about waiting! Back on the 25th though so might not be able to hold off until 29th knowing me!!!

Does anyone else find they're more likely to catch a cold when they're due on? I literally can guarantee it. My daughter has a cold and I've just started with a sore throat today, the day AF came. It's like double the miserableness over here! :(

I’m finally 1DPO. It felt like such a wait to get to this point so the 2WW is going to be so testing!

It also feels like all I’ve done is DTD but it’s really only been over other day. Phew.

I have a question though. Those who already got your bfps, how do you have it with meeting with people who are not vaccinated (if you are)?

I just found out my (vaccinated) parents went to their unvaccinated friends' house and I am not very comfortable with that. I have 3 jabs but I had covid year ago and it was very bad and I can't imagine it now with being early pregnant.

I wasn't planning to tell my parents before my scan but they want to visit us next week and we should go there for a sleepover night before the scan (as my obgyn is in their town).

They would laugh at me if I ask them to get tested, or roll their eyes. I don't know how to handle this.

Question for the ladies on here that have had successful pregnancies if you don't mind, did you ever drink when trying to conceive?
I'm getting really down about it not happening as its been 7 months since my miscarriage, and have basically shut myself away so my friends dragging me out next week for cocktails. My window is this weekend so I won't be trying to conceive just in the waiting game, but I'm worried I might damage anything that may be there. I don't know whether that's stupid or not...
I feel like I'm putting so much pressure on and need to relax, but then scared to do that and have 1 day of enjoyment.
Any help would be appreciated. Xxxx

@AlmostLondoner I think people who are vaccinated can still pass on covid?

@Hopingforarainbow27 yeah that's the reason why I feel so uncomfortable they are meeting with other people in their homes. And unvaccinated ones on top of that 🤬 I thought they aren't doing that, I thought it's just our wee bubble 😳

Tested and got a faint positive!

But I’ve still been having period like cramps on and off all day, so I’m trying not to get excited in case it doesn’t stick.

@AlmostLondoner can you ask them to do LFTs before seeing you?

@april601stbaby I tried that in past and they laughed at my face 🙄 my mom tests herself on occasion as she is a nurse but not enough. I will try again as I really don't want to tell them yet 🙄

Welcome to all the newcomers and I'm pleased we have some folks testing late in the month to keep me company!

@Brunette1989, do whatever you fancy, drinks wise. The fact you're worrying about it means you're not drinking too much. Go enjoy the cocktails - it won't harm anything as a one-off. My friend got royally smashed on her birthday assuming she was out and typically got her BFP a couple of days later. Her daughter is lovely and healthy!

@AlmostLondoner it’s such a awkward conversation but you have to go with your gut as everyone’s views are different. I’m currently in a house full of covid… my husband and 2 daughters but I’m still negative. I’m the only one who’s had the 3 jabs.. my husband won’t entertain the booster as I was so unwell after mine. Xxx

@LittleWins haha I felt the same last FW like all i done was dtd but actually for me too it was only every other day and only 4 times. I must be getting old lol
@AlmostLondoner I would have to put myself first in your situation especially if covid affected you so badly last time. Personally I am not vaccinated and have had covid mildly plus I have been exposed most of the time due to my job and family (all front line, some had covid more than once). However, I am seeing time and time again negative lateral flow tests and people turning out positive with PCR test so I do not trust LFTs myself. Especially for this variant. So take that into consideration also. Is there any excuse you could come up with maybe?
@Brunette1989 I am sure many ladies here have conceived whilst drunk also lol or carried on drinking not knowing they were pregnant. Have fun! This TTC takes the life out of you I have come to realise. I gave up for two months but I'm back on the coffee and occasional wine. A few drinks will be fine, i just make sure I am well hydrated after.

I had horrible reactions after all three jabs but it was nothing compared to the covid. I will have to tell them something for real. What a strange situation isn't it?

I'm 8dpo and took an impressively negative test this morning. Don't have any symptoms of anything at all. First clomid cycle where I have actually ovulated (hopefully!) so feeling pretty shit about it!

@RosyappleA well I tried to ask them in past because of my little son when Delta was around so bad but they didn't do it. 🤷🤦‍♀️ Not sure what other situation I could even come up with. But if those lateral tests are not good for omicron, what's the point even right? 🤷

Hello all, just checking in. Had cramps all day and eve yesterday and felt very off. Couldn't work out if I was making it up though, gaslighting myself 😂. I'm only 5dpo. Today the cramps had gone but I have very veiny sore boobs and I think my neighbour spotted me examining them in my bedroom mirror this morning with the curtains open. It's gonna be a long week lol.

@AlmostLondoner I think you've just got to go with your gut and put yourself first. It's also natural to think worst cast scenario. It's also possible that none of the contacts have covid anyway. Just do what feels right for you and put yourselves first
