First timers, TTC. Safe space for brain dumps...

Hi everyone!

This thread may or may not contain questions, I've mainly started it to be my brain dump safe space but in an excited way, not a bad way...

Me (30) and my SO (34) have decided to take the leap and start TTC! We have both wanted children for a while but just knew the timing wasn't right for either of us until now. For me, any time I see a baby or even baby clothes recently my heart aches for it to be my turn. I've never really had that strong feeling before.

The reason behind this 'safe space' is that we have agreed not to tell anyone we are TTC. We just want to avoid any pressure or disappointment if things don't go to plan, etc.

For context, I am the youngest of 5, the only girl the only one of my siblings without children.
SO is the oldest of 2, his brother has a child who lives with BM away from here so isn't really seen much by grandparents.

Both families are great and would only want the best for us but I personally don't want to feel any sort or pressure at all (intended or not) from either side.

So, we start our journey, we are on cycle 1 SWI, not expecting anything to happen this cycle and trying not to turn in to a crazy lady about TTC

@CrazyCatLady95 that’s good to know. I did think my cramps have been too early for AF as well but I suppose you don’t want to assume anything and get all excited! The waiting game is awful!

@rcal1988 weirdly, only since TTC, I've started to notice cramps straight after ovulation. Sounds promising though if you don't usually get that so early on 🤞🏻

@lakejupiter I've been exactly the same the past few cycle, one min I'm like oh yeah for sure I feel different & the next I'm like nahhh I feel the same 🤦‍♀️ I'm wondering if I will actually feel any different when it does happen.

Just found out my SIL is pregnant, they didn't even want kids and weren't trying, blessed to have another baby in the family but I can't help feeling jealous.

Checking my pee daily for ovulation and then it happens so easily for other people!

@Zubi that must be so difficult because in one respect you'll be really happy for them but also wanting it for yourself :( my SIL will be trying later this year & I can't help but worry about my reaction if I'm not pregnant by then. This thought makes me feel horrible though. I would've never been like this before TTC :/ xxx

@Mariabombia exactly! We love family and we have a big family and want lots of babies so we're so excited for a new baby. Me and my husband have been really careful trying, so for it to happen to them accidentally is frustrating!

@Zubi What cycle are you on it if you don't mind me asking? I'm sure it will happen soon for you, it's just the not knowing when it will happen which makes it difficult isn't it, that's what I'm struggling with anyway.

@Zubi that's exciting for your SIL but I understand frustrating for you. Hopefully you won't be far behind!!

It's definitely a BFN for me this month... Mother Nature decided I didn't even need to test and AF has arrived a few days early... ah well, guess it's on to cycle 2, reset and refocus time now.

@TinyDancer91 that's so frustrating for you!! I remember we're on similar cycles. My AF one day late but I've tested a couple of times and also BFNs, we shall try again next cycle and not let it get to us!

@Mariabombia we are still early on to be fair, just blows my mind how sometimes it can be an accident and other people will try so hard, what are the odds. The whole process blows my mind really I've learnt a lot! Haha

Still no period on CD33. The last time I tested was I think 3-4 days ago, but negative. Usually my cycles are between 28-29. Longest was 32. 😬 Do you think if I was pregnant I would have tested + when I did a test a few days ago? I see so many positives on 10dpo or a little later👀

I'm in my fertile window and I've been testing negative using OPKs. We still DTD last night anyway and hope to see a positive OPK these couple of days! Will DTD every other day...need to think of more ways to seduce OH lol 😂

@Zubi I know what you mean, last month I thought we'd DTD at the right times, used OPKs etc and then BFN, so disappointing....

@lilrosemarie that sounds really promising!!! Have you tested again?

@littlecontis I'm in my fertile week & still testing negative on OPKs too , meant to ovulate on Friday! I'm sure I was getting flashing smileys this time last month though.
Which ones are you using? I'm doing two this month 🤦‍♀️ clear blue advanced and the pre mom one.

@Mariabombia I just bought some cheapish one from eBay... £4.60 for 30 OPKs and 10 pregnancy tests.

So this happened today…I am completely shocked as I was convinced nothing was going on! Only symptom I’ve had was mild cramps and that’s it! No sore boobs like I would normally get before AF. I am literally gobsmacked but so happy. Will test again soon to really believe it. Wishing you all baby dust

@WildePanda I’m 14DPO today. I think I’ll take another one in a day or 2 then I guess phone the doctor?! Don’t really know what you’re supposed to do 🤣

@rcal1988 amazing!! That's a lovely line, I work at a doctors and we normally say to call when you think you are about 4 weeks so set that in your calendar 📅 😀

@rcal1988 I phoned my GP today and got booked in for 8 weeks with midwife. Currently 4+1 today! Congratulations!!
