Anyone due to get BFP/AF at Xmas?

madeleine85 · 15/12/2021 05:10

The pressure is on... in the TWW and AF is due right around Xmas. Spending the holidays with my in laws, and both wanting to drink through the holidays/not drink as in the TWW. I’m also dreading a little bit of feeling down if I get AF right at Xmas. If anyone is looking for a TWW companion/obsessor here I am ☺️. Good luck, and hope you all get your Xmas present 🎁 BFP from Santa 🎅🏻. Xx

Hi ladies, I'm currently 6dpo and AF due 27th or 28th. Planning on testing on Christmas morning so I can decide whether or not to drink but I'll only be 11dpo which seems early. I'm trying to stay hopeful but last month I had a random 53 day cycle and also I've never had a static smiley face on clearblue opks but do think I had peak on cheapies and some ewcm too. I was really depressed over the weekend thinking I'm not ovulating and something is wrong as I tried to track bbt this month and its not looking good (although I don't sleep through to morning I wake up a lot and toss and turn). Fingers crossed for us all to get christmas BFPs!

Arly90 · 20/12/2021 10:27

Hope your all doing okay ladies. I'm going mad with all the usual AF signs but not arrived yet. I had this wait. Just want it to arrive now so its past for Christmas 🙈
Did a test yesterday about 11 DPO and BFN. Don't think I'll bother testing again so disheartening 😢

kitty1993 · 20/12/2021 12:28

@ali2021 yeh I'd read that you can actually drink in very early pregnancy (obviously not loads! But a glass of something) but I've done that in the last few 2WW and then felt really guilty when my period has arrived and blamed myself for not "doing better"
I try not to symptom spot before 8dpo as usually there aren't any symptoms until implantation has happened but I still find myself thinking I've got symptoms, like today I am CRAVING tiger bread 🤦🏻‍♀️ and carbs in general...😅

@Pinkyflipflops I know what you mean about that feeling where you just feel it's not your month. I usually start off so positive but by around now (5dpo) I start to convince myself that it hasn't happened. Fingers crossed for all of us that we get a BFP soon 💐

AmberRH1993 · 20/12/2021 14:56

Hi ladies - can I join 🙋🏼‍♀️
Today is CD24 and I believe 9dpo.
This is my first cycle off the pill following my natural period and ttc baby #2. My FLO app forecasted AF due 21st but I ovulated later than expected - dates are all over the place after the pill anyhow.
I've had lots of your typical AF/pregnancy symptoms which is always confusing but had 1 or 2 that stood out as similar from my 1st pregnancy - White bumps on nipples & pain in my groin following ovulation.
Aiming to test on 23rd Dec as this is in between both suspected AF dates and also my sons 2nd birthday

frenchie4002 · 20/12/2021 15:21

@Pinkyflipflops

frenchie4002 · 20/12/2021 15:22

Sorry lol @Pinkyflipflops not sure what happened there! Tbh I don’t know, I haven’t been tracking since the miscarriage too much pressure. If I had a 30 day cycle I normally ovulate around day 16 which would have been the 9th, if I stayed on 35 days then I have no idea - very recently I suppose! Will just have to see if af arrives

Pinkyflipflops · 20/12/2021 16:23

Sorry about all the bfn ladies, fingers crossed it will happen soon.

@frenchie4002 I'm so sorry for your loss. I understand not wanting to track to ease off the pressure. I hope you'll get your bfp soon

@kitty1993 yes I get what you mean, I'm usually optimistic during fertile week, but I'm feeling already defeated when entering the tww. Last pregnancy I had sore boobs from 7 dpo. Having no symptoms at all this time again makes me think it hasn't happened. At least we will know if we can indulge on drinks in time for Christmas. My af is never late and will be there on Christmas eve. I guess that's the silver lining of the situation 🤷‍♀️

madeleine85 · 20/12/2021 16:41

@HRHXO fingers crossed for a "normal" length cycle for you. I only use the cheapie OPKs and i've always believed their peak so far... hopefully they work.

@Chasingrainbows1518 thanks :). I feel less crampy today so i'm guessing I was just having peak progesterone at DPO 7 which would be normal. Maybe this isn't my cycle, but I was miserably sick during the FW as was my husband. Cycle length varying is very frustrating. I read that the luteal date range raraely swings by more than 1 day, so if you know your ovulation date you should be able to tack that on and then get to the expected end date. The follicular can get affected by all sorts of things so is often longer/shorter.

@frenchie4002 @oldermam @Pinkyflipflops @Janey3090 hoping you all just tested too early. I keep looking at the website with the % of accurate positives by DPO to stop myself POAS. So far it is working! I honestly just don't want the disappointment of a blank test, I think i'd rather get my AF, which will likely come on Thursday as a nice early xmas gift lol.

@kitty1993 now you have me craving tiger bread :)

@AmberRH1993 welcome and good luck! Love the timing for the test, hope it brings you luck.

Thank you 🤞🏻

madeleine85 · 20/12/2021 17:17

Oh and I just showered and for the 4th day in a row no hair fell out, so I’ve convinced myself again I’ve got a shot. More like I’m insane 🤦‍♀️😂. Clearly I’m not learning!

@Chasingrainbows1518 @Pinkyflipflops @madeleine85 thanks ladies, fingers crossed. Hope you all get your bfps soon xxx

i123i · 20/12/2021 18:28

@Chasingrainbows1518 - thanks for the welcome!
And welcome to the new joiners too.

@oldermam @Janey3090 @frenchie4002 @Pinkyflipflops - sorry to hear about the BFNs but it’s still so early in the post ovulation phase so please try not to get too down. I plan to test first on 10dpo.

@madeleine85 - good idea with checking the website for % accuracy of tests on each dpo. Good sense check and helps to resist testing!!

Still not really having any symptoms here (6dpo)…

Pinkyflipflops · 20/12/2021 21:42

I want to ring my surgery and ask a gp to run some blood tests as I'm over 35 and been trying for over 6 months (this is my 6th cycle) . But I'm worried they're going to tell me off for taking their time, considering the rising number of cases at the moment and everything going on because of covid. Am I being silly?

madeleine85 · 20/12/2021 21:46

@Pinkyflipflops no, you are not being silly at all! You should 100% ring them up and get the ball rolling ASAP. You qualify as over 35 so you aren't doing anything wrong in being proactive. If they don't agree, they will without a doubt tell you. Over the last 3 months, i've seen so many people who are a little older like us say that they wish they had started investigating sooner, better safe than sorry. Good luck x

Hi all! Xmas Smile I'm currently 13dpo and three days late! Took a Tesco test at 11dpo negative and took an FRER after work today - also negative. I'm never normally this late. I have had no spotting and no normal premenstrual symptoms apart from very mild cramping. Thinking of testing tomorrow with FMU but scared of another BFN! Equally finding out in pregnant before hosting Christmas with my in-laws, sister's family and my mum will be difficult to hide the no drinking part! Baby dust to you all! Plenty of magic around at Christmas xx

madeleine85 · 21/12/2021 06:18

@RAP08 welcome! If you know your ovulation date is right then you’re still in with shot, as the luteal never normally moves by more than 1 day. Fingers crossed for you, let us know how you get on.

9dpo now, I had incredibly tingly nipples today, all night it’s felt like the let down feeling when you start breastfeeding. Had to sit with a hot water bottle on my boobs like a weirdo 😂. I generally have very not sensitive boobs. If I’m not pregnant then over the last 3 months I’ll literally have had every BFP symptom without one. Good practice I guess 😂😂😂. At least today I start a long drive to my in laws. That, traveling with a car sick 2 year old, and a grouchy husband should distract me from this guessing (I hope)!

RAP08 · 21/12/2021 07:30

Yes. Peaks showed it should have been CD14. Took another test this morning being 14dpo and still negative! I suppose I'll just have to wait a few more days!

i123i · 21/12/2021 07:59

@Pinkyflipflops - definitely don’t feel bad ringing your GP about this. I’ll be 35 in a couple of months, and husband is mid 40s so if we’re not pregnant by then, then I’ll be trying to be seen by my GP too as it’ll have been well over 6 months by then.

@madeleine85 - hope the journey is ok! Tingly nipples sounds painful. Hope it results in a BFP!

@RAP08 - welcome and sorry to hear about the BFN. I’ve read some people don’t get them until a week or more after they’re late… you’re not out until AF arrives. 🌟

Uuughh final 3 days of work before I can relax for Christmas!! Guess it’s a good distraction from this.

RAP08 · 21/12/2021 08:26

@i123i yes this is what I keep telling myself! I suppose I'm just impatient hahaha! Looking forward to finishing work on Thursday for a three day break! (Provided we aren't plunged into lockdown!)

oldermam · 21/12/2021 08:33

Also 9dpo. And gone stick mad. Another bfn this morning but was only a cheapie! Symptoms still strong, nausea. Tiredness. Incredibly painful boobs. But I also have a fair bit of stomach ache today!

I've been up and done my food shopping at 5am. I'm hosting Xmas dinner this year. My first in three years not working. Im just going to busy myself with Christmas prep for the next few days!

Hopefull1981 · 21/12/2021 09:15

10 DPO here, BFN. I am not surprised as I don’t have any symptoms whatsoever.
Good Luck to all of you who are testing today/tomorrow.

TheBirdintheCave · 21/12/2021 09:15

We weren't going to try this month as we were planning a holiday in May and I wanted to be able to fly comfortably but it looks like Covid will be changing those plans (again) so we gave it a shot. Period is due 25th/26th. It would be such a lovely Christmas present but I'm already starting to feel like a second baby isn't on the cards for us.

Re Christmas drinking: Please don't worry. The week before I found out I was pregnant with my son I had about six gins and a bottle of cider and he was born perfectly healthy :) TTC is stressful enough, don't deny yourself Christmas fun because of it! :)

Pinkyflipflops · 21/12/2021 09:26

Sorry about the bfn ladies, finger crossed it's just too early. I also got a bfn this morning, I'm 8 dpo. I think I'll be testing until af arrives, I've officially lost the plot..still zero symptoms.

@madeleine85 when are you going to test? I've got a feeling you're going to get your bfp 😊 @i123i so I rang the surgery and talked with a gp. The good news is that I'm going to have the day 2 and 21 blood tests. The bad news is that I have to be trying for 2 years before being referred to a gynecologist, because I already have several children I wouldn't get treatment funded by the nhs (like ivf, not that I would go down that route anyway) . But the gynecologist could prescribe some stuff. By then I'll be 40 years old 😱 hopefully it wont come to that

oldermam · 21/12/2021 09:32

@Pinkyflipflops glad it's not just me that's lost the plot 🙈

Pinkyflipflops · 21/12/2021 09:36

@oldermam 🤣 definitely not alone
