Anyone due to get BFP/AF at Xmas?

madeleine85 · 15/12/2021 05:10

The pressure is on... in the TWW and AF is due right around Xmas. Spending the holidays with my in laws, and both wanting to drink through the holidays/not drink as in the TWW. I’m also dreading a little bit of feeling down if I get AF right at Xmas. If anyone is looking for a TWW companion/obsessor here I am ☺️. Good luck, and hope you all get your Xmas present 🎁 BFP from Santa 🎅🏻. Xx

@Hopefull1981 me too. But let’s try and stay positive. And if the worst happens and AF emerges at least we can have a drink and will be distracted for the day!

@EishetChayil fingers crossed for you, that would definitely be amazing!

I cant believe I caved in and tested at 6 dpo 🤣🤣🤣 obviously it was negative

Pinkyflipflops · 19/12/2021 19:42

Who's drinking in the tww?

Arly90 · 19/12/2021 19:49

@pinkyflipflops I'm drinking. It's been 8 months now and it's Christmas so I'm drinking although I feel all the signs AF is coming soon 😭🙈

Mammma91 · 19/12/2021 19:52

I’m due Christmas eve! Absolutely desperate to test. Keep having strange dreams!! Good luck all xx

madeleine85 · 19/12/2021 20:05

@Pinkyflipflops I had one cheat night yesterday, had 2 gin cocktails at a friends house and now feel horrendous 😂. I’ll be fine not drinking again until AF likely shows later this week.

Hope everyone is doing ok! 7dpo and Still have all the cramps/backache from progesterone. Curses Mother Nature. Only weird thing this month is way less hair loss in the shower thank usual the last 2-3 days which I noticed too when I had my DD. Guessing it’s just weather changes/I’m being especially crazy and imagining things this month 😂

@Pinkyflipflops I have been a bit. Think I’ll cave and test tomorrow/Tuesday so will know whether I can let my hair down more over Xmas
Are you?

kitty1993 · 19/12/2021 21:26

@ali2021 we're the same dpo! And I've got the same plan as you! Going to test on Xmas morning and if it's negative then I can enjoy a glass of fizz and if it's positive then that's the best Xmas present ever!
I'm a touch worried about coming up with enough excuses not to have a drink. DP's mother loves to offer alcoholic drinks and will do so every 30 mins throughout the day... pray for me 😂😂!!

ali2021 · 19/12/2021 21:42

@kitty1993 that's so exciting - I think it's a win win either way!! I'll be driving home that night, so that'll be my excuse one way or another! The great thing about Xmas is it's so busy, you could always take a glass of wine, carry it around for a while and get your DP to slyly drink it for you; nobody's any the wiser! I have also read before that until the foetus is a foetus, that alcohol doesn't have the same impact, so you're probably fine to have a glass of fizz regardless 🥰 Have you started to symptom spot yet? I don't know why I do this to myself every month... this tww is particularly hard as I've covid and am isolating for the entire time 🤣

Pinkyflipflops · 19/12/2021 21:59

@frenchie4002 I've been having a glass here and there but definitely limiting myself which sucks at this time of the year. I would usually drink as I please

@ali2021 how long have you been trying? Do you have any symptoms? I'd like to symptom spot but I have absolutely zero symptoms at all

Pinkyflipflops · 19/12/2021 22:01

@kitty1993 people would definitely be suspicious if I turned down a drink. We've got a couple of evenings planned with close friends, I think I would just tell them the truth if I am lucky enough to get a Christmas bfp. But I'm not feeling it, dont think this is my month again ☹

ali2021 · 19/12/2021 22:05

@Pinkyflipflops we're in our 8th cycle of trying. Really praying this is our month. I've got sore boobs today; which wouldn't normally be the case until a day or two before AF; if at all. But at only 4/5dpo I highly doubt that's anything!! Id say it's too early for any pregnancy symptoms regardless. How long have you been trying?

Pinkyflipflops · 19/12/2021 23:18

@ali2021 ooooh sore boobs is a good sign 🤞🏼 I hope you get your bfp. This is my 6th cycle, starting to get impatient

madeleine85 · 20/12/2021 05:08

Hi ladies, hope you’re all doing great!I had a little bit of a down day today. May be the day after drinks effect though. I’m dpo 7, my AF usually comes DPO 11. I’ve been off my pill 3 months now, first month had horrendous side effects, 2nd was ok and this feels like an in between. Since 4dpo I’ve had cramps like AF is coming, today my boobs felt tender. TMI but I’ve been gassy/constipated which I’m not usually. Around 3-5 dpo I had heartburn/was absolutely freezing. Today I tried to feel cervical positioning and it felt hard/low so I’m guessing I’m out and that felt crappy. The only positive is if I’m feeling all the side effects then my body is making progesterone. Anyway sorry for the negativity, I know I’m still in till AF comes on Wednesday so let’s see. Every month starts ok let’s be reasonable and I quickly spiral into crazy territory 😂. How are you all doing so far?

Also @ali2021 are you feeling better? Hope so! Covid is just the absolute worst.

Morning all!

Hope I can join! I’d be 10dpo on Christmas Day so think I would do my first test that day (AF due 27th). I had an early MC at the beginning of November so this is my second cycle since that. 🌟

@madeleine85 - sorry to hear you’re feeling rubbish. If it’s any consolation, those were the symptoms I had before my BFP in October. Especially the constipation and heartburn so you never know…

Currently I don’t really have any symptoms other than an occasional mild cramping feeling in the abdomen (I’m 6dpo so not reading too much into it).

@Pinkyflipflops - yes I’m having the occasional couple of glasses of champagne or wine. It’s the Christmas season after all!! But no more than 2 drinks and no more than about twice a week. I just don’t think it’s good for one mentally to pause normal life every 2 weeks while TTC (but with some common sense/restraint of course!!)

frenchie4002 · 20/12/2021 08:15

BFN today for me.
My only hope is that my cycle is longer this month - Nov it was 35 days, first period after miscarriage so presumed it would be back to 30 days this month but maybe not. Holding out for some clarity over the next week or so as app says it's due 29th. The more level headed part of me says it's over for this month... will have to see if af appears in the next few days.
Good luck to everyone, hoping to see some BFPs on this thread soon xx

1yearTTC · 20/12/2021 08:36

Why is it so taboo to let friends and family know that we’re TTC? Much easier than making excuses for not drinking in TWW.

I’m meant to be on AF from today but been having light bleeding the last 2 days so feeling hopeful that it’s IB.

Hoping you all get good news this Cycle!

oldermam · 20/12/2021 08:36

8dpo and I've caved and tested and it's negative of course. I have such strong symptoms though, I didn't make it through my night shift last night for the nausea and dizziness. I've checked for a uti. I'm going to wait until wed now to test again 😩

Janey3090 · 20/12/2021 08:47

8/9 DPO but think I'm out - I always get spots a couple of days before my period and have woken up today with them. Sad

I have a bit of heartburn though which isn't normal, but then I do tend to get all kinds of different AF symptoms each month so who knows!

Pinkyflipflops · 20/12/2021 08:52

Sorry about the bfn @frenchie4002 @oldermam
How many dpo are you @frenchie4002?
I tested this morning at 7 dpo, bfn, couldn't be any whiter.

Pinkyflipflops · 20/12/2021 08:54

@janey3090 have you tested at all?

Janey3090 · 20/12/2021 08:59

@Pinkyflipflops I did yesterday afternoon with a FRER and it was negative. I did know it was quite early to test though xx

Chasingrainbows1518 · 20/12/2021 09:30

@madeleine85 sorry to hear you’re feeling a bit down. Sending a virtual hug! I’m still here, still waiting to see what happens. According to my app AF is due Xmas day but my last few cycles have been different lengths…32 days October,
33 days September, 39 days August, 34 days July, 30 days June…so I’m not really sure what’s going on there. Just going to keep waiting it out and see what happens. Haven’t really had any symptoms apart from mild nausea at times and a couple of hot flashes, I’ve had a few tiny sharpish niggles but I don’t think anything out of the ordinary. If I go and get a test now I know I’ll cave and do it straight away so I’m just not buying one unless I’m officially late.

@frenchie4002 @oldermam @Pinkyflipflops @Janey3090 sorry about the BFNs, will still keep my fingers crossed for you all.

@i123i welcome! So sorry to hear about your miscarriage, sending a hug! I will also be having a little drink over the Christmas period (unless I do get a BFP!) but will limit it to one glass with Christmas dinner.

@1yearTTC I wouldn’t mind our families knowing we are TTC really, we did tell people when we were trying for our first but we did get people asking how it was going…which my husband found very awkward so prefers that we keep it between the two of us for now which I’m also ok with!
