@ThePodParent ah it’s frustrating for you that your body is doing strange things at the moment. Maybe the EWCM you had around CD14 was around O day, if this was what was normal for you before. It’s so hard not to overthink everything though isn’t it 🤦🏻‍♀️ Think I’m about 1dpo but haven’t done any opk tests this month and have never done BBT charting before so just going off EWCM and based on timings of previous months. I know that’s not the most reliable way to track but thought I needed to be more relaxed this month and maybe start tracking more in the new year!

arianasky · 20/12/2021 08:25

Morning all, CD13 today and got a static smiley so guessing I'll ovulate today/tomorrow I'm glad because my booster is Wednesday afternoon, how is everyone?

ThePodParent · 20/12/2021 09:03

@RubyRainbows After my confusion I bought some Clear Blue ov tests and got a static smiley today 😃 so @arianasky sounds like we’re matchy matchy! 🥚 Good luck!

I’ve got my booster later today and am hoping that it doesn’t confuse things.

Hope everyone has a good Monday ☺️

arianasky · 20/12/2021 09:07

@ThePodParent ooh exciting! Hopefully the booster doesn't affect things for you 🤞🏻

Billymay · 20/12/2021 09:32

Hoping I can join? I’ve been ttc for 2 cycles and now just waiting for Af so we can try again. Wishing everyone lots of baby dust xxx

Billymay · 20/12/2021 09:34

@ThePodParent Regarding your booster… if you have the moderna take paracetamol every 4 hours… I didn’t and I ended up with flu symptoms the day after fever, chills and really ached and today is my first day without a headache 6 days later. Hopefully you will be fine but wow it took it out of me. Xx

kizzy97 · 20/12/2021 11:25

Hi! Hope it's okay for me to join! I'm cycle 3 currently on CD4 trying to conceive #2 hopefully this month is our month 🤞

Tor88 · 20/12/2021 11:46

@kizzy97 @Billymay welcome! I'm cycle #3 ttc #1, just entering the dreaded tww 😅

Billymay · 20/12/2021 11:50

@Tor88. Get ready to symptom spot. Keeping my fingers crossed for you lovely! Xx

kizzy97 · 20/12/2021 12:48

@Tor88 fingers crossed for you! Tww just absolutely drags 😅 whens the earliest you're going to test?

Tor88 · 20/12/2021 13:00

@Billymay thank you - really gonna try not to obsess, but you know what it's like!!

@kizzy97 I think the first day AF is due which is new years day... So 14DPO if Ive got my timings right... Quite annoying timing as it means I'll have to be sensible NYE just in case! Mind you I expect we may be in for a quiet covid new year anyway 🙄😅

PoleFairy · 20/12/2021 14:49

Urgh after getting my booster last wed both me and DH have tested positive for covid today. I'm supposed to ovulate xmas day, hopefully we both feel well enough to make the most of fertile window in ovulation

PoleFairy · 20/12/2021 14:49

*isolation not ovulation haha

RubyRainbows · 20/12/2021 14:58

@PoleFairy ah it’s so disappointing that you’ve tested positive now! I hope you and your DH are feeling ok and still manage to DTD.

Good luck to everyone just starting the TWW - I know symptom spotting can drive you crazy so hopefully we’ll all stay sane 😂

Shortmamashortcycles · 20/12/2021 15:09

@Tor88, if you'll be 14DPO on NYE and you want to have some fizz, a test then would be pretty accurate... just saying 😉🤞

@PoleFairy, oh noooo! I caught covid just after my booster too. Luckily it's been pretty mild. Hope the same for you and your husband so you can try to catch ovulation. 🤞🤞🤞

@RubyRainbows - I'm 5DPO and time is passing at a glacial pace... doubt this is my month but looking forward to symptom spotting anyway later this week 😁

Tor88 · 20/12/2021 15:14

@Shortmamashortcycles ah really?? I thought testing the day before AF is due is a bit of a no no coz it'll be too soon for the hormones to spike...?? I guess it's only day before, maybe I'll test then then! I think I am also fearful of new years eve disappointed, but at least that way I can drown my sorrows haha!

@Tor88, well I'm not a fan of early testing, but implantation usually happens around 6-10 DPO, so by 14DPO a sensitive pregnancy test (around 10 miU/l or less) will be pretty accurate!

Obviously nothing's certain but... yes, that option is open to you.

Tor88 · 20/12/2021 15:37

@Shortmamashortcycles ah I get you, yeah I may well test on nye then because I'll be curious, but if it's negative I won't take that as a sign that it's time to neck several cocktails then... Also there's always a chance that or AF will have arrived and we'll be in lockdown, and then I can freely sob into my whiskey!! Something to look forward to eh...

On the subject of booze, how cautious are people usually within their 2ww?? Xmas day will be 7DPO for me. I'll be with my in laws and it's usually fairly boozy (let's say some fizz, a cocktail or two and dinner wine). I know I should be laying off in general whilst ttc, but I'm thinking a fizz or two and wine across a day with food isn't too bad at that point - or is that silly of me?? Thanks for any advice ☺️

newjourney21 · 20/12/2021 15:44

@RubyRainbows I'm 2dpo and this tww is already a killer!! Googling symptoms every time I feel something Grin

RubyRainbows · 20/12/2021 16:13

@Tor88 I haven’t been drinking much since starting TTC and have been lucky that special occasions, like birthdays or parties have usually fallen when I know that I’m definitely not pregnant. I’m in the same situation as you this month though - I’ll be roughly 7dpo on Christmas Day so too early to test. I would say that I wouldn’t drink at all but after trying for 12 months I’m pretty sure that this month won’t be successful either, so I’m thinking of drinking Christmas Day and Boxing Day as I’m with family and then probably won’t after that anyway! I think if I didn’t have a drink all over Christmas, it’ll make it so much worse for me when AF arrives in Jan! Saying that, I wish I had more willpower and understand completely why people would stay away from the booze even if it is Christmas!!

@newjourney21 I’ve been like that nearly every month so far and have had so many ‘symptoms’.. think my body just does different things every month 🤦🏻‍♀️ I seem to get something new/different every month 🤨

madeleine85 · 20/12/2021 16:28

@Tor88 I think I said this somewhere else, but with my DD we did not know we were pregnant, and we got engaged 48 hours before i found out, and it was my birthday the day before. I had been drinking cocktails, wine, tried some japanese whisky etc. When we found out, We panicked and went to the drs she was complelety not fussed. Just said to stay away from booze from then on. Apparently until the placenta develops very little can pass to the foetus, and in the very early days it wont really have an impact at all. I'd say to enjoy your xmas, and not let TTC change your life within reason. Good luck for you this cycle x

Shortmamashortcycles · 20/12/2021 16:39

@Tor88, to back up @madeleine85, my friend, convinced on her 6th cycle that they hadn't got lucky, went all out on her birthday and had a blast. Many drinks were drunk. A few days later, realised AF still hadn't shown - her little one is now 2 and a bit. Very easy pregnancy, jobs a good'un.

Obviously once you find out, lay off, but a few drinks over Xmas/NYE really aren't going to do any wee bean any harm. Hoping there is indeed a bean in there!

jazmine38 · 20/12/2021 17:04

Joining..cd1 today. Good luck everyone xx🤞

Booze away with impunity til you get a positive test! Assuming you’ll be testing around a missed period and not ignoring the tests so you can drink for nine months Grin

In the TWW, you’ve got a week where the egg is just floating around doing cellular things so anything you imbibe won’t cross over. Then a week where it’s implanting and getting comfy and starting to do sciency things – but it takes the whole of the first trimester to create and grow the placenta so a wee christmas bender isn’t going to harm anyone. You don’t have to lay off booze in general while TTC at all. Don’t curtail your life for it!
