@tor88 I literally act as normal in tww! I've had my jabs, drunk like a fish, been in the jacuzzi. Its doesnt do any harm. Most people I know who have had BFPs recently have been smashed in their tww!

contagioushippie · 20/12/2021 18:06

Hello, im a forum lurker looking to join and get my rainbow BFP in January.

frenchie4002 · 20/12/2021 18:16

Hi all! Can I join?
Sorry to those who have experienced losses. It's truly horrible.
I had a MMC and ERPC in October. Thought for a brief while I had fallen pregnant straight after as was getting 2 lines on tests before going for scans etc and being told it was just my hormones taking a very long time to drop - the foetus had died at around 6 weeks but I was 12 weeks along. Had a super long cycle and heavy bleed in Nov so now not really sure what's going on and how long my cycle is this month but I'm having af symptoms left right and center and am expecting her any day now. So let's hope better things for Jan!
I am deffo drinking over Christmas!!

It's great to hear everyone's stories and I hope we'll be seeing lots of bfps appear on this thread very soon xx

AutumnWinterSpring · 20/12/2021 18:34

I’d love to join too Flowers. We decided to wait until January to start trying plus it means a nice boozy Xmas Wink. I’m 37 and it’ll be our first. Leaving it a little late Grin

I had my booster yesterday and on a normal cycle I’d ovulate around 10th Jan. I’ve got some ovulation tests ready in case things move around like they did after the second jab.

Very pleased to get the booster before Xmas & relax.

lottieb92 · 20/12/2021 19:55

Hi all newbies and everyone in the TWW! Hold strong, you got this!! It truly is the longest two weeks ever…
I am CD1 today yay? A little earlier than I expected but not usual for me to me a day or so out.

It’s my first month using an APP and OPK - I’ve gone for pre mom and easy at home, as these seemed popular with most in the Nov, Dec threads I was in!

Really looking forward to getting to know my body better and enjoying cycle #3!
Catch up with you after AF leaves 😁

Good luck those testing this week 🙌🏻

SkaterChick · 20/12/2021 22:09

Hey everyone, question for those of you that use cheap opks, is the control line sometimes faint? It seems to be mega faint on this batch I have. I've had a few faint test lines but they're not as dark as the control and I haven't had any ovulation symptoms yet so don't think I've missed it but been dtd every 2 days to ensure were covered 🤣
I'm cd 12 today so expecting ovulation shortly. Had my booster today and the symptoms of the viral infection ive been suffering with have reared again (probably because I got absolutely smashed Saturday and was still hungover today 🤣) so fingers crossed I feel okay tomorrow!

How is everyone else doing?

JazzieJaz · 20/12/2021 22:33

I am new💕

I have been trying to conceive now ! & wanted to know if I’m doing things right !

I’ve recently also bought Pre-Seed & have been trying to use it this time around.
I’m at my 3rd month of trying.
I will post a photo ( we’ll attempt to if it works however) I got a high OPK 18th & 19th of December evening.

I baby danced 14th & 15th then early morning 20th 3 times. Am I still in? Or did I mess up?

I have a 28 day cycle & my period are always on time…

Nico89 · 20/12/2021 23:10

Hi @JazzieJaz 👋

You could be in with a decent chance with those dates but I personally would have tried to dtd a bit more near the peak. A peak OPK doesn't confirm ovulation just a surge in luteinising hormone which means ovulation should occur within 36 hours of that peak test. So dtd in the days coning up to when you expect your peak and once you get a peak opk dtd every day for 2 or 3 days that way you should have swimmers waiting when you ovulate. They can live for a good few days whereas once the egg is released its only good for around 24 hours so I figure it's best to have them waiting.
Someone else can probably explain so much better than me but that's the way I see it.

JazzieJaz · 20/12/2021 23:13

@Nico89 thank you so much for your response!

So to recap !

If I got my OPK surge on the 18th & 19th that means that it’s good I did the baby dance on the 20th 3 times? & I shall continue for the next two days?

Profit to this it was the 14th & 15th which was 2 days before OPK surge ( as this happened the 18th) X

muddypuddlejumping · 20/12/2021 23:29

Argh I've no idea when I'm going to ovulate! App said Saturday but def haven't. Still no ewcm or any peaks on opk but family staying from tomorrow so not ideal to have a later ovulation this month.
Anyone else still waiting?!

Tor88 · 20/12/2021 23:44

@madeleine85 @Shortmamashortcycles @RubyRainbows thanks so much all thats all v helpful and reassuring. I mean you can't stay sober the whole time you're ttc can you?! So the balanced approach sounds good ☺️🥂🍾

Nico89 · 21/12/2021 04:48

@JazzieJaz if you got peak on 18th then you most likely will have ovulate on the 19th or 20th so dtd on 20th good timing. Continuing could be too late if you already ovulated, but you could have ovulated later so it won't do any harm to carry on. If you don't get lucky this time, next time round Ideally you would have dtd a few times (or every day if you wanted) over the 5 days upto when you think ovulation will happen then once you get a peak reading every day for 3 days (so this cycle would have been 18th, 19th, 20th) I think the SMEP recommends then skipping a day then another day after this. Worth looking it up it explains it much better than me. We don't follow it exactly as our work shifts don't lend very well to it, but we half follow it as best we can. (Not worked yet but early days)

mightbeyesmightbeno · 21/12/2021 08:01

Joining you all from November thread. Have had 2 chemicals now the last 2 months. This month I was pretty gutted about it - seeing positives on the tests for a few days and then it went. So am going to try hard not to test until actual period day (although that hasn't really helped the last 2 months).

Ovulation for me will be over NYE. Will be hoping around mid January for my result.

Have to throw away the card I bought DH as I stupidly wrote "AUGUST baby" in it but am glad I didn't give it to him. Had a good cry & chat last night to him.

Nico89 · 21/12/2021 08:47

@mightbeyesmightbeno sorry to hear about your CPs. Such a horrible feeling and a roller coaster of emotions over a short time. Fingers crossed for a sticky bean in January for you.

arianasky · 21/12/2021 08:48

@mightbeyesmightbeno welcome! I also had a chemical last month so like you I will try my hardest not to test until AF is due, silly question maybe I had a static smiley yesterday morning so does today count as 1DPO? I had twinges and EWCM also. Don't get me wrong I'll still DTD tonight aswell to be on safe side haha!

Tinkerbell098 · 21/12/2021 09:32

@mightbeyesmightbeno oh no! I'm so sorry honey, that's awful! Hope you get a sticky bean in January. I'm feeling hopeful for us all that 2022 will be our year xx

mightbeyesmightbeno · 21/12/2021 09:40

@arianasky I think static means you'll O within 24-48 hours so today is probably O day and tomorrow 1 day post

arianasky · 21/12/2021 09:50

@mightbeyesmightbeno thank you I thought so but was double checking, deffo DTD tonight and tomorrow then to be on safe side and pray the booster doesn't affect things 🙏🏻

mightbeyesmightbeno · 21/12/2021 09:54

@Tinkerbell098 &@Nico89 thanks ladies, yes here's to another month :)

I've actually just spoke to the GP. I wasn't really wanting anything but wanting to know if the same happens again / other months, when is the threshold for calling. He actually said because I am over 35 and haven't had any bloods done for a very long time, that if it happens again next month to get a blood test done on CD2 & CD21 and also an ultrasound of cervix and womb just to check. So he's gone ahead and ordered these so if the same happens again then I don't need to request bloods as only short notice for CD2.

So that's good / reassuring.

kizzy97 · 21/12/2021 11:15

@mightbeyesmightbeno I'm so sorry! Hopefully this month is our month and a sticky one for you! I'm glad your gps offering you help and reassurance as well xx

I'm confused now though as originally according to my app I was meant to ovulate 3rd January but because my af was only 2 days it's changed to I'm now supposed to ovulate on the 30th December. Just going to try and dtd every other day through my cycle instead I think.

Tinkerbell098 · 21/12/2021 11:21

@kizzy97 do you use OPKs at all? I think I'm going to start temping from next cycle as I feel like my cycles are all over the place at the minute, so may be useful to understand.

kizzy97 · 21/12/2021 12:39

@Tinkerbell098 I don't use opks I was going to start this cycle but DP has said he'd rather I didn't as he dosen't want me putting more pressure on myself and upsetting myself more if it's not our month again.

jadew88 · 21/12/2021 12:51

Hi everyone!

I'm on cd3 now, cycle 2 although I'm not sure if I can really count last month as I was a bit lackadaisical with OPK/DTD.

This month is a proper month ha!

mightbeyesmightbeno · 21/12/2021 13:03

Thanks @kizzy97

I think the app will just predict O bass on dates - mine always predicts O to be 14 days after start of period.

I think if you DTD every other day though that'll be enough to technically catch it. It's hard to be relaxed and have fun with DTD when you want a baby at the end of it!

mightbeyesmightbeno · 21/12/2021 13:07

This month my O is around New Years so I might not use OPKs and just try and relax a bit. And then I'm away 14-16 Jan with family which is bang on when I would normally be testing, AF due on 17th. So that's good as I won't be tempted to test whilst away and will just wait until back :)
