It’s awful, I call it “homework sex”. And there’s no hiding from him when I’m ovulating, I cannot be casual, I’m like a dog on heat and he just knows.

Mummytobe93 · 16/12/2021 13:40

Haha @hotmeatymilk this is so true😪😂 Ive literally got an anxiety knowing the fertile week is approaching! Trying to plan our activities around DTD schedule week before Christmas is rather stressful…

But you know what? We need to deal with so much when TTC - CM tracking , OPKs, BBT and whatnot, so actually I’m starting to feel less and less sorry for our DHs, sex on demand for one week every month is not this bad is it?! 🙈

Havasham · 16/12/2021 15:13

Hi ladies, I was lurking on the December thread but thought it might be nice to join this one to help my sanity this cycle - I was not prepared for how long and frustrating the TWW felt!!

I'm CD3 of Cycle 2 TTC#1. Stupidly got too wrapped up in thinking it would happen month one for us as so many people around me seem to conceive instantly! I usually have pretty regular cycles and should ovulate between Christmas and New Year. I'm going to try EPO to help my EWCM, and keep more hydrated!! Also bought some cheapy ovulation sticks as last month I just relied on the Flo app.

Best of luck everyone xx

Tor88 · 16/12/2021 15:20

@madeleine85 thank you, yes you're probably right!

My worry is that DH is going to a zika zone in Jan so this is our last month ttc before May (because of risk of exposure) which truly sucks, so I'm putting a lot of pressure on this cycle. I got pretty bad vaccine side effects before so I'm assuming I'll be ill, so weighing up high chance of being ill (fever) post vac during potential implantation, vs low/medium risk of contracting covid over Xmas or early in NY...I say low/medium just coz we had it fairly recently and are being sensible and testing none stop, but of course it's spreading like wild fire atm... I can re book my booster for early Jan when I'll know I'm other not preg, or that implantation has been successful - what do others think?? A lot of conflicting info out there re whether illness can actually impact implantation, but you want your body to be feeling good and relaxed don't you!

madeleine85 · 16/12/2021 17:08

@hotmeatymilk your post made me laugh out loud. I seriously feel like I do the same, and my husband likely stays at the office later to avoid the creepy vibes i'm giving off.

@Mushrooms0up I'm 4 DPO now and last night was so cold that I was like ok I have to be pregnant, which I know is utter rubbish, because i'm always cold! Need to restrain the symptom spotting tendancies, but i'll never learn. Hate that progesterone tricks your body in so many ways even if you aren't pregnant.

@Havasham I tried EPO this month and it seemed to work. Also taking COQ10 vitamins which I read on one of these threads have positive effects. If nothing else my hair/nails seem in better condition from all the extra goodies they are getting :)

SkaterChick · 16/12/2021 19:00

Hey everyone, hopping over from the December bus, been a bit quiet of late as my work is crazy busy in the lead up to xmas Plus I've had a viral infection that's given me migraines, tinnitus and exhaustion. Not fun!

I am currently cycle day 8, I started on the opks the day after my period ended as I didn't want to miss my fertile window, I skipped the opks last month and after a few early symptoms and an early period I think I missed it so not taking any chances this time 😂
Got no line on cd5/6, a very very faint line cd 7 and today, cd8, a faint line but darker than yesterday so hopefully it means my o day is on the way!

Thankfully mine and the dudes work schedule lines up perfectly to dtd every other day between now and boxing day.. just gotta hope work doesn't wipe us out to much 😂😂

Got my booster booked Monday so I'm hoping no side effects from that, I felt shit after my second jab, got pregnant the cycle following and then MC at 6 weeks so it's anxiety inducing for sure.

chyan · 16/12/2021 19:22

Joining!

TTC cycle 6, due AF tomorrow, but only had BFN so far. Really losing hope for it this month Sad

Nico89 · 16/12/2021 22:44

CD 8 here cycle 3 TTC #2 for me, #1 for DH.
Had my booster yesterday and nothing exciting to report other than a dead arm! I wasn't planning on using OPKs this month but in light of some others experiences I might out of curiosity so that if my ovulation is delayed and thus AF is delayed ..then I'm not getting my hopes up for nothing when she doesn't arrive when I expect.

Random one but anyone else have auto-immune conditions or fibromyalgia on here. I was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease a year or so after my DD was born (after a LOT of tests) and was then also diagnosed with fibromyalgia earlier this year. I'm also 32 almost 33. I'm hugely concerned that this combination is not a great one and would be interesting to hear of anyone else's similar experiences TTC with chronic illness.

newjourney21 · 17/12/2021 11:26

Hi all! I have been floating on the November and December threads, first month off the pill here CD35 and no AF as of yet. I was doing OPKS until CD20 but stopped as it was frustrating me and I decided to just see what happens while still dtd! This morning I randomly decided to do an OPK as I had what appeared to be EWCM yesterday and got a high reading! Has anyone ever ovulated this late? I feel like maybe it’s possible being my first month off the pill with my body being all over the place. Going to dtd tonight and over the weekend so hopefully if I am going to ovulate soon I’ll catch it! The waiting game is just so awful though not looking forward to another two weeks of waiting if that is the case Envy

Nico89 · 17/12/2021 11:52

@newjourney21 it took about 45 days for me to have a period after stopping the pill. Never even bothered tracking ovulation until after that first bleed. Everyone is different but it can take a while for your natural hormones to get back in control and make everything happen as it should Smile

madeleine85 · 17/12/2021 16:25

@newjourney21 welcome to the thread/TTC. Hope it goes smoothly for you. I read a really interesting piece about how the follicular stage (pre ovulation cycle) can vary a lot in length, through stress, sickness, ovulation restarting etc. There are no issues noted with this taking a while. Then you hit ovulation, where you hopefully are right now. After that the luteal stage from ovulation until your AF has a pretty set date from the word go. It is unlikely to change my more than 1 day. Weird how the first bit is flexible but the 2nd isn't. Basically the first cycle taking a while to ovulate, or the 2nd, really shouldn't impact fertility. I think that this was the piece: www.healthline.com/health/womens-health/follicular-phase#long-phase
Good luck to you, and don't freak out, the first cycle is always a little weird as you get in tune with your own body

newjourney21 · 17/12/2021 16:41

Thank you @Nico89 and @madeleine85 for your messages. I know of people that have had BFPs first month off the pill before a natural AF so the optimist in me is hoping!!

That information is so helpful thank you @madeleine85 it's all so interesting!! I have just done another OPK and got an even higher reading so it is looking like ovulation is coming!

Where are you both on your journey/cycle?

Hoping for BFP's in January! New year; new start! Who's with me!?
Nico89 · 17/12/2021 16:49

@newjourney21 that's a good strong peak line. Get dtd! Fingers crossed you get a bfp in a couple of weeks.

I'm CD9 or cycle 3 TTC #2. My DD is almost 6 so quite an age gap. I ovulate quite late in my cycle usually not until around CD17 or 18 so I have a while to go yet, predicted for Christmas and I have to work nights all over so I'm not mega optimistic for this month.
I love seeing other people get their good news and bfps though so I always stick around Smile

madeleine85 · 17/12/2021 17:35

@newjourney21 I am 5dpo cycle 3 TTC #2. My DD turned 2 this week. Hoping that this journey isn't too long, I think DD took 4/5 cycles, but she was quite a bit of a surprise. Like @Nico89 I have a longer follicular phase, I seem to ovulate around CD 20/21, my luteal is only 10/11 though. My DD was a premie and the drs couldn't figure out the # of weeks she was due at once she arrived as she seemed developmentally younger than expected, and going through this process made me realise that it is because of my long first phase, so the doctor probably miscounted the weeks and she was one younger than we anticipated. I had a real lightbulb moment once I started counting my cycle this time around! Anyway, that looks like a strong peak! Keep testing 2x a day till it starts dipping and hope your partner is around to DTD. Good luck for this cycle!

Bringonbaby3 · 17/12/2021 19:31

Reading through the stories of partners not enjoying the fertile week made me laugh! My husband I think is being a bit naive about it as he’s currently really excited at the prospect of lots of sex. (It will be our first month of trying). It’s our 3rd baby but the other 2 came when we were being rubbish with contraception so we never got to experience trying. I think it will get old pretty quickly. He has a much higher libido than me!

So I am officially CD1. AF arrived today and I’m excited to actually be in our first cycle of trying for a baby! Not expecting it to happen on first cycle.

Loukate29 · 17/12/2021 21:19

Cycle #2 ttc #2!! X

Hopingforarainbow27 · 17/12/2021 21:44

Welcome everyone. I'm CD3. Only had 3 days of light bleeding. Anyone else have light bleed? Hope this isn't to do with why I miscarry

@Hopingforarainbow27

Welcome everyone. I'm CD3. Only had 3 days of light bleeding. Anyone else have light bleed? Hope this isn't to do with why I miscarry
As standard I've always had either one day heavy bleed or 2 days light bleed. I rarely get 3 days. I've never miscarried but my doc says this shouldn't be an issue as it's what's normal to me.

T/W** although I'm ttc #1 I did have a termination around 6 years ago and I think I was around 11/12 weeks (I found out v late and was far too young and unprepared), in essence I think if that's YOUR norm, it's ok

muddypuddlejumping · 17/12/2021 23:03

Started opk sticks today but no peak yet. I do suspect that I ovulate later in my cycle too and those timings work out better this month so we shall see!

BH1926 · 17/12/2021 23:07

Hi ladies jumping over from December thread. CD1 cycle 9 ttc #2.

AF has arrived 2 days early but that means predicted O is now 30th so probably actually a bit better as both off work from 23rd til after NY so hopefully we will manage to DTD plenty in FW 🤞🏻

Hope January is full of BFPs - wouldn't that be an amazing start to the year for us all ☺️ good luck xx

Bringonbaby3 · 18/12/2021 08:58

@Hopingforarainbow27 do you think you ovulated in the last cycle? I think very short bleeds can be suggestive of not ovulating in that cycle? Fingers crossed for this cycle! Since having my coil removed in September mine have become a lot heavier! Currently on day 2 which is heavy and painful :(

Hopingforarainbow27 · 18/12/2021 09:08

@Bringonbaby3 I think that may have been the case. I had ewcm from CD23. I did get a positive ovulation that day but the fact the cm was pretty consistent up until period. I'm hoping that's not the case this cycle :(

lottieb92 · 18/12/2021 10:12

Hi all!
I recognise some names.. I’m coming from December bus/ sleigh where they were a lovely positive bunch!

My journey so far: TTC early 2021 then put a stop to it quickly to wait a while longer - got married this month!
And now this will be TTC cycle #3
Baby #2 - but first baby is now 6 (how does that happen?!)

I haven’t got AF yet, so just waiting for another 48hrs and then I’ll be CD1 and ready to roll into January! 🥰

Best of luck all, oh and have a very merry Christmas xx

newjourney21 · 18/12/2021 11:27

@Nico89 yep that's what I thought!! Haha yes dtd has been done so fingers crossed!
I hope you too manage to dtd during your FW! If not then at least you have something to look forward to in January to start off the new year :) I think 6 years is such a nice age gap, best of luck to you! I love seeing other people's good news too

@madeleine85 ahh best of luck to you!! How many dpo do you plan to start testing? That does make a lot of sense, it's crazy how much tracking our cycle can reveal! I was so unaware of so much of this before TTC, and I find it so interesting! We managed to dtd last night and this morning, done another OPK this morning and it's still high but lower than yesterday's so hopefully I've managed to catch it! Best of luck to you this month x

arianasky · 18/12/2021 15:07

Tested for ovulation with clear blue today only CD11 but though id check 😂 no smileys yet I normally ovulate around CF15-18 though so not too worried, hope everyone is doing good 💕
