Ttc #1 and cycle 1. Anyone else?

Hello

As title says ttc #1, cycle 1, 30 yo. I got my 1st flashing smiley this morning on the CB test.

Thought it would be nice to hear from other ladies in a similar position.

I’m confused what CD this is for me. I have another full thread on this so won’t rewrite it here but if anyone can help me on that thread (title: my first ever flashing smiley please help) I’d be grateful as I’m very confused. This may be CD10 for me or may be CD5

😂 they are so expensive! They work great for some people but I’m sure I got dodgy results last cycle with them so I’m deffo relying more on the line ones this time and the one step ones seem to work really well for most!

@Newbiemg yeah they are! So they all just turned up and I ran upstairs with the parcel. The OH followed me and said why you being sneaky haha so I showed him and he was like.. were you on my phone last night? I said no and he was like oh all night I’ve been Googling. Great minds think alike 😂

@SMD16 that’s incredible 😂 my OH has had all this info forced onto him against his will.

I never seen to get a blazing positive from One Steps. I can’t tell if it’s just me or the tests - they get darker but never as dark as the control (which is technically a negative, I think). It’s still a good enough indication I guess but I have read others saying that they get negatives on OS and positives on others from the same urine

@HelloPippa honestly I couldn’t believe it 😂 I was really poorly with the my AF last night and all the week leading up to it we did numerous tests as I was really unwell. But I never expected him to be googling this stuff himself haha!

I don’t even know how to use the tests haha, wish me luck!

@Newbiemg I use Ovia and Flo 😊 they both say I ovulate on different days so very helpful haha only a day apart though!

Welcome @SMD16! I literally googled mumsnet acronyms a while back and there's a whole page of them haha! We are in the same position re our 30th birthdays - may as well start trying right as who knows how long it will take!

March! I was hoping I'd get pregnant on my first cycle so I could have told people at that point but I think I was living in a dreamworld 😂 here's to cycle 2! ✨

I think I’ve confirmed that my batch of CB tests are either faulty or just don’t work for me.

I had 3 statics last cycle which I don’t think is right.

Day one of testing this cycle as AF just finished and I got a negative on the line opk which I fully expected as it’s only CD7 for me but CB straight away gave me a static smiley. No blank circle no flashing just gave me my peak static straight away one day after AF on CD7. I have no other symptoms and Im pretty sure I am not at my peak and believe the line opk over the CB test. Weird

I guess I will just keep using the line ones. I do have a brand new CB machine maybe I should open that tomorrow but I was using my old one because I thought it might have learnt my cycle from before so would be more accurate but I guess I was wrong….

I’ll attach a photo. That line opk is deffo negative isn’t it?

@Newbiemg I would say that is defo negative. I'll post a pic of my positive for you, guessing they are Femometer ones they look the same as mine

I thought that unless the test line was as dark as or darker than the control it was negative?

V annoying about CB, maybe crack open the new one!

Yeah they’re Femometer ones. I put it into my app too and it said high 26% and it’s much lighter than your peak one @CrazyCatLady95

Yeah I think that’s right @HelloPippa it looks negative to me too and would be strange to get my peak the day after AF so I must have a faulty CB machine.

@Newbiemg I have found sometimes I have to take a few photos in the app as sometimes it doesn't pick it up properly

@SMD16 do you mean no test line so just one control line? Or no lines at all? If it’s just one line that’s ok it’s just a low negative test but if it has no lines at all then it’s a faulty test I would say

@Newbiemg the test line is there, but completely blank the rest of it. Will test again to see the difference.

@SMD16 these are the instructions for my tests.

If the Control line is just there it’s negative. If the test line is just there it’s invalid.

If all plans out right and no AF I'd be testing around the 29th... eek

Me… If all goes to plan according to my app then I can test around 30th/31st so just make it for Jan

Well yes I should be 30th too for 14 days PO (predicted) l. Hopefully we will know more over the coming days! It's nice to have people on this journey with you, all my friends already have children so I'm the last 😂

I'm around 6dpo so will be testing/waiting for AF in a week or so! Think I probably will cave earlier though with cheapies but fully expecting bfn!

Oh the cheapies make it all too tempting to test early doesn't it! If I can make it to 11th day I'll be proud 😂

I'll probably be testing around 23rd if AF doesn't show herself before (last period was very odd!) As my predicted ovulation is today! 🤞🏼
